AAA Carolinas has the worst website. It is absolutely unusable and impossible to navigate. If you call asking for help, they are unwilling to do anything for you over the phone and just ask that you go to the website/appBusiness Response

I first called on today a Lil bit before 1pm. Trying to get my truck towed 4 miles down the road to a dealership. 9 and a half hours later I have only been getting put off and given the run around. My truck is still not picked up as I'm writing this. I just don't understand. It's my only vehicle and I have to pay to get to work bc I can't get my truck towed to see what's wrong with it. I need to know why is it always taking so long just be provided a service that I have a membership for?Business Response

Re: Response to Complaint – Ms. Fern Segerlind
Dear BBB,
We are
writing in response to Ms. Segerlind’s inquiry. On June 18, 2025, we provided
her with the information she requested regarding her brother Clifford’s AAA
membership.
Specifically,
we confirmed his membership number and expiration date, advised that dues are
paid annually, and due to the circumstances extended a one-time courtesy of a complimentary
one-year membership for Clifford. Additionally, we confirmed that his
membership card was mailed on June 11, 2025, and informed her that delivery may
take 10 to 14 business days.
This
resolution reflects the full extent of what we are able to offer at this time,
and we believe it appropriately addresses the concern.
Based on
the information above, we consider this matter resolved and respectfully
request that the case be closed.
Kind
regards,
Member

Re: Response to
Complaint – Ms. Fern SegerlindWe have confirmed with AAA Carolinas that due to a system glitch, Mr. Clifford Segerlind’s membership cards were not mailed on June 11th as originally communicated but instead were sent out on June 23rd.
As this membership is associated with Ms. Fern’s brother, we made an attempt to contact Mr. Segerlind directly by phone. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach him and were not able to leave a voicemail. However, we did send him an email confirming that the cards have been requested and also provided a temporary copy of the card for his use until the physical card arrives.
If Mr. Segerlind would like to speak with a representative regarding his membership, he is welcome to contact our team at 800-477-4222.
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to provide clarification.
Kind regards,

I will not accept this UNTIL my brother has an actual hard new card in his hand and he has yet to receive on AND until senior management at AAAapologies to me for taking probably 500 hours of my time since April 29, 2025 asking AAA to do the right thing. AAA has constantly ignored me and my gift recipient (my brother) and failed to take any steps to compensate me for the total loss of my very valuable time. I remain furious as to this ridiculous AAA lack of professionalism and failure to take responsibility for this debacle. It should have taken AAA one hour to process the gift renewal. Instead AAA STOLE 500 hours of my life. Shame on AAA. Not even an apology to me. AAA took MY MONEY and ran and left me in the dust. I am furious. FED EX THE CARD TODAY TO MY BROTHER ANFD HAVE SENIOR MANAGEMENT APOLOGIZE TO ME AND ALSO COMPENSATE ME FOR MY TIME>Initial Complaint

On 5/09/2025 I was traveling north on n ****** in ********* **, waiting at the **********************. The right turning lane was to the right of me. A AAA flatbed truck came within a couple inches of my vehicle in the right lane and as the flatbed turn right it snapped my passenger side mirror off. The back end of the flatbed chassis is what scraped against my vehicle during the turn. The only thing that was hit was the mirror. I honked my horn several times to indicate to the driver I would pull over and exchange information. Follow the driver into the nearby parking lot of the nearby QT parking lot where the driver tried to evade me! Then the driver tried to deny any wrongdoing without looking at the damage to both of our vehicle. I was able to get this on video. The driver was rude and I called the police. The *** driver's manager seemed apologetic and helpful. I was advised to get an estimate so they can pay me for the damages. I got it from a reputable collision center and emailed it to that same manager. He said the estimate was too much and *** would send a mobile mechanic to fix instead. So he had me wait for a part for two weeks. I waited, still no estimated time of repair. In the meantime I'm unable to drive my vehicle for my second job. I asked them to compensate me for the time im missing from work, about $200 per week or pay the estimated price so we can go our seperate way. They declined to do that and now want another estimate! I have missed out on weeks of pay, they keep moving the goalpost with my damages and I am beyond frustrated. My account is negative and they have failed to take accountability for what they did to my vehicle in a reasonable time frame. While my mirror is dangling by the wire from my vehicle, it is scratching into my paint. I would not be going through this if anyone else with insurance hit me.Business Response

I called AAA for Roadside Assistance on 5/16/25 and the dispatcher (she refrained from giving her name) for TVCM Towing was incredibly rude and argumentative. It also took more than an hour longer than the time she estimated for the driver to arrive. This is unbelievably unprofessional behavior and, as a 19-year customer, it's astounding to me that AAA (or any other business) would be ok with this person being associated with/representing the company.Business Response

*** refused to provide roadside assistance for towing or transportation, for a spare tire carrier on the back of our SUV that broke and left the tire lying on the side of the road. Our car was fully packed for a cross-country road trip so there was no room to fit a full-size spare inside the car (which is the reason for the spare tire mounting position on the back of Jeeps). We had to pay out of pocket to have a service load the tire up and take it to their garage so the mount could be fixed and the tire re-installed on the back of the car. We had no way to get the car and spare to a garage without the towing service so it should be covered under AAAs towing policy but they refused to cover it. Also, they said we should continue on our cross-country trip without a spare tire or have towing on our dime; it was up to us, creating an unsafe condition until we could arrange for service ourselves.Business Response

Since I signed up for *** last year I have received hundreds of mail items from them and I have opted out at least a dozen times and I have even contacted my local AAA who said they would take care of it. I get at least 1-2 solicitation mail from AAA every single day. I am not interested in their auto insurance, life insurance or any other types of insurance!! I have said this repeatedly and still the mail wont stop!! It is not only irritating but wasteful to say the least. Im tired of it and I just want it to STOP. Please.Business Response

*** offers an extra perk call *** Dollars to earn cash back, which can be used to pay membership fees. Was informed last week that AAA Carolinas does not participate in the program. They want you to apply for their *** **** card, which we do not want, as we have paid off our credit card debt. Applying for a new credit card would be going in the wrong direction for our finances. We receive emails from AAA Carolinas ************************ which advertises the *** Dollars program. If they do not participate in the program, I feel this is false advertising. I am rejecting this response because:I just read the letter from ***. I called the # listed in the letter, ************, to inquire about where I could find any cash back balances. I do not necessarily need to use the cash back amount for paying membership fees, that was just an option that was given when you read about the program. I was told that AAA Carolinas does not participate in this program. The lady tried to help me find where I would possibly find any balance of transactions I did in April. I basically read to her the letter I received. She could not find any balance inquiry on her account either.
If AAA Carolinas does NOT participate in the *** Discount program, why did I receive the attached email today, showing a cell phone near the bottom with Get up to 2.6% Cash Back, advertised? How do I redeem *** Dollars if they do not participate, or do they not participate in the cash back part of the program to pay membership dues?
It feels to me like false advertising.
I would be happy to get a phone call from someone at AAA Carolinas to better explain their letter to me since the lady I spoke with could not help me.
Please advise.
