      My daughter-in-law had a leak in her washroom from the washing machine. She has a medical problem that prevents her from being able to make major decisions on her own, and she has recently been widowed. She called the first phone number found that might fix a leak. Apparently it was ****. *********************** of ********************* responded, looked at the leak, claimed to have fixed it free of charge, asked if she had ********************* and left. She then received a call from American Water Damage Company of Charlotte to say *********************** had called them to come out to clean up the water damage. She then called me. ****** told me ****** called them, they were there to inspect the water damage and to deal with my insurance company on the cleanup. He gave me a report of what he found although he had just arrived in the house. I told him we would deal with our own insurance company. Next morning I received a call from *********************** who was obviously upset because he said American Water Damage told him I had given them a hard time, He said he was just a nice man trying to help out, so he fixed the leak free of charge. I asked him where the leak was, and he said behind the wall. I asked him what he did to fix the leak behind the wall, and he refused to tell me. He said he just fixed it!! It is my opinion that both ****** and American Water Damage Company have an agreement for referrals, and it was easy to see that my daughter-in-law would agree with whatever she was told to do. It was upsetting for them to learn that someone else was involved other than my daughter-in-law. I am not comfortable with how they handled this problem and how they were not happy when I intervened.

      When someone makes the call to a company like ours, a water damage restoration and repair company, theres no time to waste. Water damage, and problems arising from water damage, can destroy a home in days or even hours. When a home suffers water damage, time is of the essence. *********************** is aware of this and when we called to set up the appointment were under the impression that the homeowner was aware as well.Thats why a homeowner with water damage must find a restoration contractor who can answer the call, evaluate the damage, and begin water damage mitigation immediately. Companies like American Water Damage save thousands of homes from total ruin every year. We arrived at the appointment and offered our FREE inspection services, which includes speaking with the homeowner insurance carrier WITH the homeowner to facilitate the mitigation as quickly and easily as possible, We were just doing what we were asked and invited to do, mitigate the water damage. While the water damage restoration industry is ever-changing, American Water Damage clients can count on trustworthy professionals that adapt to those changes and continue to provide excellent services that save their clients home and provide a safe, comfortable place for them and their family. I'm truly sorry for this undisguised attempt to provide a necessary emergency service to minimize damage and prevent the opportunity for microbial growth. What *********************** did was provide superior service and offer someone he has been willing to trust his reputation in offering to continue the work with a no obligation inspection.I have to say, in the emergency services business that plumbers and water restoration professionals practice, this is a first to respond to a legitimate water damage situation with a clear phone invitation to come and inspect, rerouting our service personnel to manage such services, not charge a ***** for the time only to be ridiculed for doing so in a timely fashion. But, I understand the over protective manner in which this atmosphere was charged and when asked to leave, we did so unobtrusively and again, without any ask of money from the homeowner. Although we have received an unwarranted 1-Star for speedy emergency services, apparently there is a first for this urgency to be misconstrued under the guise of unwarranted protectionism intervention. We know that any type of loss to your home can be incredibly overwhelming, stressful, and ************** is our goal to minimize this stress and make the experience as worry-free as possible. Know that we will continue to offer our services in a timely manner with free inspections and insurance company facilitation.
