I signed a contract with ********************* (CCI dealer) on February 4, 2025, and submitted my site photos to Carolina Carports on April 27. From that point forward, I upheld every part of my agreementyet not a single communication was ever initiated by the company. I had to reach out repeatedly just to get the most basic updates, which were vague and unhelpful at best. When I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager, I was told, they will just tell you the same thing, as if escalation was a waste of everyones time. One employee, H******, falsely claimed I was the first ******** in over 20 years to raise concerns like minedespite the hundreds of 1- and 2-star reviews that say otherwise. She also falsely told me that the companys CEO, ***** *******, was just a shareholdera claim I later confirmed to be completely untrue. Official business filings in ******* and Florida clearly list Mrs. ******* as CEO and President.Even more concerning: when I referenced a promise made during an earlier call, H**** told me she would listen to the recorded call.** There was no disclosure that calls were being recorded, and since Carolina Carports services Floridaa two-party consent state this either means the company is recording ********s illegally or that the threat was simply used as an intimidation tactic.I have since canceled my order and received a full refund. Im now working with a local builder who values honest timelines, transparent communication, and respect for the ********three things sorely lacking in my experience with Carolina Carports.Bottom line: The product may be fine, but the business culture is broken. The communication failures, misrepresentation, and dismissiveness I experienced were not just inconvenientthey were unacceptable. I hope leadership will take accountability and make real changes for the sake of future ********s.Carolina Carports, Inc.

We appreciate your concerns. CCI is owned by shareholders and your request for their personal information was denied by policy. As a corporation, we also have officers and directors. We certainly acknowledge Ms. ******* as our President/CEO, however, her personal information is not made public. In regards to the recorded phone calls, that is disclosed during the on hold portion of any phone calls. Regarding the order specifically, you made an inquiry through permitting. You were advised to contact scheduling at which time you demanded a date for delivery. Each manager you spoke with advised that you are in rotation for delivery and you were given a tentative date for scheduling. That was not acceptable to you as you wanted a guarantee. We advised that the only thing that would prevent the install taking place on the date stated was a circumstance beyond our control, such as weather. We have provided your date and what you should expect in terms of process moving forward. We have apologized that there are certain situations, such as weather, that we simply cannot anticipate that far in advance. I apologize if the information provided to you is not satisfactory. We will continue to move towards the date of install as indicated.T. B.

I absolutely demanded accountability for a total lack of proactive communication on your part. ******* completely denied Mrs. ******** title with the company. I also asked for BUSINESS email and a direct line. I did not inquire about her personal communication lines. You might want to check that recording. Haha.Review fromK. M.

In 2021 I purchased a 30'wide X 40' long carport with both sides enclosed from a dealer local to me ****** Farm Market in ************). The unit was delivered and installed with minimal issues. In April of 2025 my area experiences some significant storms (approximately 80mph winds were recorded). The carport was not properly anchored to the ground during installation and assembly. The front sides of the building lifted up and moved about 3 feet out of place during the storm. The carport partially collapsed onto my **. The result was significant damage to my ** and the carport structure. Multiple braces were twisted, many cribbing supports were broken and the building had to be winched back into place to remove the ** and other equipment from the partially collapsed carport. The carport I purchased was supposedly rated for 115MPH winds at the time I ordered the carport. Upon review of the damage the anchors used were not close to suitable. I contacted Carolina Carports (the Pennsylvania representative ******) and explained my situation. Although she did offer to send out a crew to straighten bent pieces and move the unit back into place I was not happy with that offering. The last thing I want is a compromised structure sitting over my valuable equipment. I attempted to follow up with ****** but have not received a call, message, or any communication back. If you expect to have any sort of warranty through a future situation similar to what I described above from Carolina Carports I wish you the best of luck. **** from my experience and ensure your unit is properly anchored to the earth.Carolina Carports, Inc.

We certainly apologize for your frustrations. The representative you are referencing is no longer with CCI so any attempts to contact her directly would be unsuccessful at this time. In order to properly review your case there are a number of items that we would be in need of. I will have a customer service manager to reach out directly and gather the information that is available. Please keep in mind that the units are rated per *** standards under gust ratings, not sustained winds. In addition, had there been an issue with the anchoring system, that would have been noted in final inspections which would have prompted a service order. Our staff will be in touch.K. M.

Hello, I was contacted on June 4th to re review what I had already sent to the employee that is no longer with CC. On June 6th I let this employee know I was interested in having the building tore down and removed from my property. I have followed up on June 9th and June 18th. I am still in the same situation with a partially collapsed building on my property. At this point I just want to get this weak structure taken down and removed from my property.Review fromTerence J

I had a garage built. They installed it quickly but door the installed has always leaked. Now After 5 years of dealing with this i find out that the 20 year warranty is basically worthless and they do no repairs after 1 year. I woukd definitely recommend getting a local builderCarolina Carports, Inc.

We certainly apologize for any frustrations. It appears that there may be some confusion regarding the warranties. Each unit has a 1 year workmanship warranty assuming no alterations are made to the structure. This would include items such as leaks. However, this customer never reported a leak in the last five years regarding his door. Additionally, when he did report it, he stated that he "thought" water was coming under his door. He also stated that his concrete was poured larger than the base of his building. We advised that the 1 year warranty is well surpassed and the original contract specifically states that CCI is not responsible for leaks under the base. The 20 year warranty that the customer is referring to only applies to the rust through of tubing.Review fromRon B

I've seen bad reviews about CCI here and elsewhere, which concerned me initially. But, given the number of buildings they produce, the number of issues seem minimal. In all fairness, I felt I should leave my positive experience. I contracted through a local company in *************, and due to the large size of the building, I learned they would contract through CCI. I placed my initial order through the local vendor on 11/08/24. Due to holidays, my slab was completed the first of February. I called CCI on 02/06/25 to get scheduled. I was told there was a 3-5 week lead time. I explained I had a vacation scheduled for the week of 03/17/25 and could not be available. They advised they would note that and not schedule for that week. They then contacted me on 03/11/25, and told me the crew would be there on 03/25/25, the week after my vacation. On 03/25/25 at 7:45 AM, the crew arrived. The construction crew worked on the building for 4 days. There was an error on with the concrete layout that I had not noticed. The crew was able to correct the framing on site, and took it in complete stride. My experience was great all the way around. I was anxious and impatient, but well worth the wait. Very nice building and I'm very happy with the quality of materials and workmanship.....Credit where credit is due.Carolina Carports, Inc.

This company has the worst customer service. Going on a year now, and still waiting for things to get fixed that was damaged during install.Carolina Carports, Inc.

We certainly apologize for your frustrations. CCI did send a service order shortly after install. The service order was reported as completed. CCI was not made aware that you still had concerns until your dealer contacted us on 3/12/25. We immediately issued another service order. We have attempted to schedule that service which was once delayed by weather and once by your personal availability. We will continue to work with you on a service date that is agreeable to all parties.Review fromBryan B

These guys are your best friend during the sales process up through delivery ...... I paid to have the entire garage insulated with R-17 insulation to the tune of several thousand dollars. Upon arrival for construction none of the construction crew members could tell me they had the correct insulation. None of the insulation they had with them had any markings so I called the "factory in Dobson NC for identification and proof that I was getting correct insulation. The folks at ** were extremely ugly at me for questioning them about the insulation....and I then made them send me technical data sheets. That really ****** them off. But they did it. Move forward 6 months. I called them yesterday to question why the soffit was not insulated and that I was trying to heat the building and the leaking soffits were making it difficult. The woman on the phone stopped the conversation, ***** curtly and with attitude to inform me my warranty was voided because I modified their building. Dammit man. Adding electricity voided their warranty. I replied I that is true why would I pay for r-17 insulation? She was curious as to why also. I then asked can someone in engineering recommend a way to properly insulated the soffits? She passed me to sales whom told me they have no instructions on how to insulate soffits,..Extremely Rudely. I told him get me over to engineering...he put me on hold and came back with a good technical way to insulate.....what a bunch of C*** Never do business here again. I was going to add-on but I will call someone else!!###!!Carolina Carports, Inc.

We appreciate you reaching out regarding your concerns. To be clear, CCI is not involved in the sales process, that is a different vendor. We manufacture the unit and then a contractor comes out to install. On May 9th you spoke with a customer service manager. I have pulled and reviewed that call and do not find anything "ugly" regarding such. She politely offered to send you the specs in the materials you ordered, confirmed you have the correct materials on site and explained, as with all insulation materials, R values are based on application. These units are not air tight structures, that are corrugated metal buildings. The insulation is applied to the roof, side and ends walls which is what you are priced for. The "soffits" or trim as we call them are no insulated. We would be unable to advise of a proper method for that is it is not within our scope of work. In terms of warranty, per the terms, conditions and warranties in the binding contract, any alteration you make to a structure voids warranty. I am happy to further discuss this if you would like. You may reach me by email or phone.Review fromJessica G

I ordered and paid a deposit with ****** factory for a carport. Apparently they use Carolina Carport for the install's. I wish I had known that in the beginning as I would have known to check their reviews as well as ******. I understand that they have busy schedules and weather permits only so much, but I missed 4 days of work waiting on "No call/No Show" scheduled deliveries. Finally, after getting frustrated, I cancelled my order and did receive my deposit back. Fast forward two weeks.. I come home from work to a carport that looked like a 5 year old put up, my landscaping bricks used to hold the carport up and a flat tire from the materials left in my driveway. I called them the next day and all they wanted to talk about was coming to remove the structure... I even agreed to let them come back out and repair/reposition the carport so that it wouldn't extend right across my doorway.. STILL NO CALL/ NO SHOW (another day of work missed) .This is the WORST customer service I have ever dealt with. They are rude, very unprofessional and only make excuses instead of offering solutions to their mistakes. Recap.. I cancelled an order after missing 4 days of work, carport was placed very poorly without my consent, used my landscaping to secure the structure, caused a flat tire due to debris left behind and missed an additional day of work for them to repair although they didn't show and I was basically called a thief by the **************** manager because I will not allow them on my property without calling law enforcement until a PROFESSIONAL company is paid to fix my driveway that was damaged by them. According to the reviews this company has a history of dishonesty, poor work and horrible customer service. Please make sure you check this company out completely before using them!!!Carolina Carports, Inc.

Thank you for taking the time to relay your concerns. I have researched your interactions with our team to date by reviewing notes and recorded calls. In regards to rescheduling, our contract is specific that delays can take place due to circumstances beyond our control. We apologize if this impacted your personal schedule but we do not require that you be on site for install. We do allow the corners to be marked. At all times, calls were made ahead of the schedule date to advise of updates. On August 14th, during install, your son was on site. He instructed the contractor where to place the unit and signed the completed invoice. After install, you contact CCI to advise that you had a damaged tire, the unit was in the wrong place and you were not happy about the anchoring. The unit was placed where instructed, the unit is anchored to the concrete which was the foundation provided and we requested a quote for the tire damage so that we could properly address that. We also requested photos of any concerns you had with the unit as we are committed to making sure the unit is installed properly. To date, we have received 1 small photo of the unit which did not indicate the concerns noted. We have received no quotes or proof of tire damage. On August 29th we called to follow up and again request the info needed to assist. We also called to collect the balance as the terms are COD with a 1 year warranty so the account is past due. On September 3rd we attempted to contact again. On September 6th, you returned the call. We offered to move the unit as a courtesy although it was placed as instructed, we offered to fill any holes that the moving of the unit would cause and we again requested info regarding the tires. If you were not interested in moving the unit then we offered to pick it up since it has not been paid for. We dispatched the crew for pick up on October 7th due to non response and non payment. You told the contractor that day that you would have him arrested. We have offered to move the unit as a courtesy, fill holes that wouldn't exist had the crew not been told to place the unit in the wrong location and have offered to address the tire with proof of damage. At this time, we will be pursuing the payment and/or repossession through collections/legal remedies since you have made demands but have also refused access to the site. if you would like to discuss further, you are welcome to reach out to me directly.Jessica G

The statements in this response are untrue and very contradicting. I do not see one time in your statement that my order was CANCELLED almost two weeks prior to the install that was NOT supposed to be done. I sent numerous photos and responded every time you reached out. I will not waste anymore time going back and forth when the truth speaks for itself, you have numerous reviews with the same issues. I only hope that customers considering this company read the reviews and are aware of the unprofessional, condescending and rude people they are dealing with before getting unwillingly involved in such chaos. Had I read this completely false response before the last contractor actually listened, understood as well as seen my concerns you could have taken me to court as I INSTRUCTED you to do in our last conversation prior to you sending another crew to my house without consent.Review fromDaniel H

I have used Carolina Carports two times now and have been satisfied with their support. Carolina Carports installed a simple carport for me in 2015 and the process was very smooth. More recently in Fall of 2024, Carolina Carports extended and enclosed my carport, adding a window, walk-in door, and a garage door. There was a minor hiccup or misunderstanding where the contractor installed the wrong building anchors and the structure failed my county inspection. Carolina Carport's reaction to the matter was swift -- they immediately shifted into action to correct the situation and alleviate any anxiety I had.Carolina Carports, Inc.

We appreciate you reaching out and are pleased to hear that you are enjoying your unit. I see that a check was cut on 6/13/24 for the refund. You spoke with ****** in our receivables department on 6/24/24. She indicated to give it a couple more days and let us know if it was not received. She has not received any further communication from you. We will reach out to our bank today to confirm that the check has not been cashed. If not, we will issue a stop payment on that check and reissue a new check.
