Don’t order any from them. Will take your deposit and you will never hear from them. Been waiting for over 9 months and still nothing. I hope they take the deposit and have a nice dinner on me and send me some pictures. Then I know that it least something was done with it.Carolina Carports, Inc.

We certainly apologize for your frustration and delays. This particular order does not meet the threshold for a lead time, which is $5000. Orders of this size are worked into truck loads as they fit in terms of quota and weight distribution. This should have been explained at the time of purchase. We are happy to continue to work towards an installation date and advise 2-3 days in advance of arrival. In terms of the down payment, CCI does not receive any form of payment until the unit is installed. The down payment is retained by the dealer as their commission for the sale.Review fromMarshall R.

Bulldog Steel Structures and Carolina Carports are a nightmare to work with. Carolina Carports insist that you work through their "local representatives" to design your building. My local representative is Bulldog Steel Structures. Both companies are located in Dobson, NC, and work closely together. Bert and Bryan, from Bulldog Steel Structures, spent more than a month designing for me a $50,000+ metal building, 30' by 60', for office, pottery studio and garage, and that required $10,000+ in insulation to keep warm in the winter, and THEY KNEW the building would require electricity for lighting, heating and air conditioning. I had to pay Bulldog Steel Structures $7,000+ as my "local representative" to design the building. I was on a tight schedule. Then Carolina Carports tells me, after I signed my contract and they installed my building, that I would void my building warranty if I put in electricity, heating and air conditioning, which Carolina Carports does not install. The contract that I signed with Carolina Carports, in tiny print near the end of a long contract, states in one sentence that if I modify the building in any way my actions will void the building contract. I assumed that this meant if I personally made the changes. In fact, Carolina Carports told me yesterday, and reiterated today, they mean even licensed, bonded and certified electricians and HVAC technicians who change the building will void my contract. I could not believe it. Nevertheless, Carolina Carports advertises today (8/17/2022) on their web site an office building that has heat pumps outside the building with electrical panels. Also, on their web site, they list proudly a 20 year warranty, but don't mention that you'll lose your building warranty if you install electricity in the building. Who does not need electric lighting in a large building that serves as a studio, garage and office? Do not trust Bulldog Steel Structures or Carolina Carports.Carolina Carports, Inc.

In our discussions with this customer it is evident that he plans to make significant alterations to his structure. He has also admitted that he read the contract prior to signing. The contract does state that any alterations to the unit will void warranty. Each customer goes into their project with this understanding. We cannot assume responsibility for the work of contractors that are outside our network. We do offer electrical waivers to customers who wish to run electrical in a non-invasive manner.Review fromScott Eric P

I'm not even sure what to say about this outfit. I paid a deposit for a carport several months ago. I was told at the time that a delivery and installation date could not be determined, but that it would probably be 4 or 5 months. I was okay with that. About 4 weeks ago I got a call from Carolina Carports advising me that delivery and installation would be July 28 th around noon. I don't yet live in the house where the carport is to be installed, so I took the day off and went to the location where I waited until after dark. No one ever showed up to deliver and install my carport. Since then I've called Carolina Carports at least 10 times. I haven't been able to speak with a person, but I have left several messages. No one has called me back. At this point, I don't know if I will ever get my carport or if I will ever see a refund of my deposit. I'd prefer to have the carport. But if they're never going to deliver, I'd like to know so I can get a carport from someone else. I will soon be living at the new house and I need a carport. Carolina Carports has put me in a very untenable position. If anyone who reads this can help, I'd be very appreciative.Carolina Carports, Inc.

We certainly apologize for your frustrations. We do our very best to schedule in a manner that will allow successful installations for each job. Unfortunately there can be circumstances that can impact the delivery routes that are unforeseen. We do expect that the contractors notify the customer if there are any interruptions. We are actively working on new routes to the area and will advise 2-3 days in advance of arrival.Review fromW. D.

Very disappointed in the customer service with this company.
To be honest it's horrible.
Bought a 30 x 40 enclosed garage. When the crew came to install it, they had no rollup doors, which my garage had 2 of them to be installed.
Said they had no idea as to why they were shorted, or to when they will be getting more.
I have attempted several time to call Rene, with no response. Voice-mail is always full, which tells me she doesn't even listen to them. Meanwhile I have a $25,000 garage sitting empty, that I can't even get final inspection or use.
I have even sent several emails to Rene, still no response. Not sure why she doesn't even return email or calls to give updates.
If I ever get this problem resolved, I will never be using this company again.
I can't believe that a company that says they strive on customer service is this bad.
Wished I had done my research and reviews before purchasing a product from them. If you are on the fence jump off before it's too late and find someone else, because you will be disappointed if you let them handle your needs.Carolina Carports, Inc.

We do apologize for your frustrations. Prior to scheduling CCI staff always check inventory on accessories to make sure that all items are in stock. It appears that one of our staff members failed to mark the doors off inventory causing it to appear as if the doors were in fact in stock when they were not. Rene nor any of our office staff would have been aware at the time of scheduling. Rene does have a service order for the completion and would be working towards a date as soon as the doors arrive in our GA division. These are special doors so they do have to be ordered. We will work to expedite this as soon as they are in stock.W. D.

This comment still doesn't give me a answer to the complaint.
The main complaint is customer service , not an inventory error. I am in manufacturing I totally understand inventory errors. The problem is customer service and no communication. I called Rene the same day that the crew showed up, to get some answers.
It has been 15 days since my install, and guess what still have not heard back from Rene.
Several phone calls and emails and still don't know any more than I did. All I want is someone to personally call me and give me some sort of answer as to when this will be finished.
You stated that Rene has a service order in, but how am suppose to know this.
That us my main complaint is no communication between CCI and the customer.Review fromM. D.

Very upset with CCI. After paying $15000 for a metal building, it did not pass inspection bc concrete anchors did not meet what specs said! We have been trying for months to get this resolved. They have scheduled a crew to come out 3 times and 3 times we’ve been bumped or stood up!! Very hard to get in touch with anyone and just continue to get run around. I would never deal with this company again. We continue to lose money everyday we can’t use this building.
I would hate to have your job, Heather, so many complaints!!Carolina Carports, Inc.

We certainly for your frustrations. Our staff are working diligently to dispatch another crew to your area to get this taken care of.M. D.

And the lies from Carolina Carport continue!! Just this week we have been rescheduled 3 NEW times and then CANCELED the day before the crew was supposed to arrive.. 3 times. Today, 8/11, they called and cancelled TWICE with in an hour. They would not reschedule. We were told we will be contacted within 2WEEKS to reschedule! We are beyond upset! Please don’t waste your money or time on Carolina Carports!!M. D.
Date: 09/20/2022
So… this problem was never really corrected, we settled for a FIX for engineer to send letter saying the fasteners not meeting specs was OK. I have reported 16 leaks with pictures and they have been out twice to fix these. We still have 2 leaks.!! CCI has NOT responded to requests from the lady we bought our building from for a week now! I’m So over dealing with CCI. I can only hope this review will help others make a better choice than we did and not waste your hard earned money and precious time dealing with this pathetic company!!Review fromJ. A.

Ordered a 18x21 carport and put down deposit on 5/31/2022,was told it could be 6 to 8 weeks.Recieved a call saying our building would be installed 6/21/2022.Recieved a call 6/20 2022 stating there was a problem with someone else's sight and they were taking our building back to Indiana. Rianna told us it would be going out on a load after the 4th of july and she would call us with the install date. Since then we have left several messages with Rianna with no return call. ALL WE WANT IS A CALL TO SEE WHERE WE STAND!!!Carolina Carports, Inc.

We certainly apologize for the delay in delivery. Unfortunately when a customer has failed to do their due diligence of providing a level site, that can result in a failed delivery and impact other installation schedules as well. Your order would be worked into another route. We would call 2-3 days ahead of arrival in order to monitor weather in each area.J. A.

The question was why can we not get a return call from anyone at Carolina Carports telling us anything. We understand you will call 2-3 days in advance of delivery, but we are not sure if the reschedule is days, weeks, or months away. We want a call from Carolina Carports.Review fromY. H.

My husband and I bought a metal barn that was customized. The sales representative that helped us told us we needed either a concrete slab or gravel so that they are able to build the bard on top of a solid foundation. We decided to go with gravel. Weeks go by and they finally deliver it. HOWEVER, THEY REFUSE TO BUILD IT because they said it was required to be on concrete slab and they couldn't build it on gravel. This was a bunch of **! So they just left the materials for us to put together. We called to complain and said there was nothing we could do. We still had to end up paying for it and they just discounted $500 for labor. We contacted three other companies to build it for us and each of them has quoted us $2000-$3000 to build our barn!! Now we don't have our barn built and it's going to cost us thousands of dollars to have someone put it together. We will not be working with this company and we have told all of our friends/family of this. This is FRAUD.Carolina Carports, Inc.

CCI arrived at this site in March 2022. The contractor immediately noted that the land was off level. They also noted that the ground was too hard to put in mobile home anchors. The only way to level the land and anchor properly was to pour a slab or footers. This is a foundation issue. The customer requested that CCI install despite not being able to anchor properly and that they would sign a release of liability. CCI refused to install in a nature which we felt would not be secure. The customer was offered a drop off which they agreed to. The discount is 5% of the retail price of the structure. I do not doubt that the price to have this installed is elevated as the contractors are well compensated. The discount is minimal as the contractors would still be paid for the delivery/drop off. This is a foundation issue that is preventing proper and secure installation.Y. H.

When we ordered our metal barn, the representative that we spoke to stated that our land/foundation had to be level, and it could not be off by more than 4 inches. When the delivery guys came, they noticed one side was off by 2 inches, which my husband was able to scrap up the gravel to meet the code. While putting on the anchors, they stated that the ground was too hard to install. They did not tell us anything about this being an issue beforehand. All they told us was to have a concrete slab or gravel foundation, which we complied with what they told us. After discussing with them, THEY offered to build the barn but said we would have to sign off on a liability waiver, to which we agreed. Minutes later, they came back and refused to install it. So why would they offer this to begin with? Despite the situation, we accepted the drop-off and expected them to discount their inability to install the barn. 5% off is a robbery as they failed to communicate accurately, gave us false information about the foundation, lacked preparation on their end, and were unable to deliver what they promised. Also, my husband received a call weeks later, and the representative apologized for their mistake. He told my husband that the delivery guy was in the wrong and wished he could have caught this sooner. He stated that they would have installed it and gave us false information. He said that we should have escalated to management to have this resolved, but since we already paid it, there was nothing they could do.Review fromElliot L.

I let PowerBilt/Carolina Carport have my deposit of $2500… I just couldn’t do it any more. They wore me out and I just gave up.
Raised the price of my building by 6 grand 6 days before install. I don’t have the 6 grand so…. I couldn’t chance all the other angles others are describing on these reviews here. Life is not fair, so I choose to cut my losses. It’s the right move with less headaches.
Make sure to read their whole contract.
You will play ball on their side of the field the whole game. It’s a whole maze of good cop, bad cop from the sales PowerBilt and the manufacturer CCI….A signed contract means nothing and it’s all your fault.
So I donated $2500 to Carolina Carports.

I have reviewed this customers concerns. The customer originally placed his order in 2020. His order was placed on hold. Per the contract terms, the customer has 90 days from the purchased date to be ready for install or they must pay the current pricing at the time when the customer is ready. This customer was not ready within 90 days. He was ready on June 10th, 2022. From the time the order was placed until the time the customer was ready, there have been 2 price increases. CCI is simply enforcing the contract terms. As far as the down payment, that is retained by the dealer as their commission for the sale. CCI does not receive any portion of this and CCI is not paid anything until we install the unit. There has been nothing "donated" to CCI. CCI is happy to process the order under the contract terms at the current pricing.Elliot L.

CCI has a position in the company to monitor and “spin”
Company reviews. You are all unethical people. So after the cancellation due to 6k price increase 6 days from install. Someone still called to confirm the install for August 1 at original price?!? When I told here I was out, She got snappy and said “I have a signed contact and stated 14K owed”….
I’ve never seen a company so right, with so many customers trying to cheat them out of their business and products. Covid and struggle only happened to CCI and no one else over the last couple years….Review fromK. M.

We have never dealt with a company that doesn’t have their crap together this badly. We waited 5 months for delivery and was had 4 delivery dates get changed and then on the last planned delivery we stayed home all day awaiting delivery and never received a call or anything and no one showed up. We finally got in contact with someone the following week that claimed they left a voicemail for cancelation but that was a lie because we never received it. We then debated canceling from frustration and them lying to us but decided to go ahead with order because we wanted the carport. They finally showed up this morning with the carport and it’s the wrong one. There order is some how different than our copy of the order so at this point we are so over their crap and will not be working with this company or ever recommending to anyone.Carolina Carports, Inc.

We certainly apologize for your frustrations. Delivery times and dates are subject to change. Each unit is site built and if the area is not accessible or properly prepared, it can impact the entire load. One of our customer service managers did stay late and personally left the messages regarding change in delivery. The order that was submitted by the dealer did not have the sides/ends color noted. When our customer service representative went over the order the colors were confirmed verbally. When the crew arrived, we were told that the order was not correct. It is my understanding that this order has been refunded in full and cancelled.K. M.
Date: 07/26/2022
I understand that they are subject to change that was the problem. The problem was the lady lying about calling us. She never called us and left a voicemail like she “claimed” she did. So we sat at home the entire day that day waiting for them to show up to deliver. Also no she did not confirm verbally. She lied about that too because we would have most definitely informed her of what the color should be if she had asked like she said she did. The summary of this review is that we we were lied too multiple times and things were told to us that we had “supposively” said that we NEVER said or told them.
