I contacted Sport Durst Power Sports, in ****** ****, regarding a 2019 Kawasaki W800 motorcycle they advertised (on Cycletrader and their website). I spoke with the salesman, *******************. I made an offer of $4,700, which after going back and forth, was accepted by the salesman and his sales manager. This was all done via many texts back and forth over several hours. I asked if I should give them a deposit to hold the bike. I was told by the salesman, *******************, to contact him the next morning to make the deposit via credit card (as their store was about to close). Up to this point, there had been extensive communication between ***** and I. I followed through rapidly and appropriately with the process and his instructions to facilitate this transaction ~ even including a screenshot of my funds transfer to my local bank from my investment account, so as to demonstrate my commitment to this transaction. The following morning, as directed by *****, I was about to call with my credit card deposit. Just as I was about to call, I received a text from ***** saying that he was sorry, but they had accepted another deposit. I called ***** and tried to politely reason with him and urge him to do the ethical and honest thing. He said that unfortunately, the sales manager was definitely not going to sell the bike to me, now that theyd accepted a deposit from somebody else. This is very dishonest and unethical ~ not an appropriate way to run a business or gain customer loyalty. A customer who has pages of texts with this salesman/company of the above. Do yourself a favor, there are honest and ethical dealerships to purchase a vehicle from. This DEFINITELY isnt one of them. That they are treating a potential customer this way, imagine how dishonest they likely will be after the sale. Walk, no RUN, from Sport Durst Power Sports, in ******, ****, if youre considering making a purchase from them. They deserve a zero-star review, but this forum requires at least one star.
