I have been going to Piedmont in ******** for years.Dr ****** has always been excellent till I tried to make an appointment for several problems with cellulitis and needing to remove a mole .I had face cancer surgery 6 years ****** surgery area keeps itching.I had told Dr ****** this and he said it happens sometimes. I am 81 and it seems I am being the blunt of age discrimination. I'm in good shape for my age but I needed a ck up.When I asked to see Dr ****** I was told I had 2 " No shows."I just saw Dr ****** couple months ago so I know this is not true.I was given a doctor I don't know nor can I pronounce his name.He may be a good MD but this is poor business resulting from big corporatio s greed and choosing to work on patients who are younger and have better insurance than ******** and medicaid..What a shame! Where is medicine going in the **?

On October 24, I went to Piedmont Plastic Surgery and Dermatology because I wanted to ask about how to help with my age spots, how to remove a small growth near my eye, and to check on my moles, because I had heard that I should have that done. The doctor came in and in a very peremptory manner, brushed aside my concerns, saying there was nothing to be done about age spots and that she could do nothing about the growth, and then proceeded to look at my moles. Not surprisingly, she decided there were 4 that needed to be checked on. She then left the room and had her assistant tell me I needed to sign papers in order for them to do that. I was lying naked under a sheet when the papers were shoved under my nose and did not understand what this would entail other than taking a small sample of each. It was never explained to me that this was authorizing them to charge me hundreds of dollars. When the doctor came back, I asked if this would leave scars, to which she replied "Everything leaves scars." After about 15 painful minutes, I was left with 4 holes in my body and told to come back in a week. On the way out they told me I needed to pay $560 for what they had done. I was shocked. A week later one of the cuts had become infected with a staph infection and was very painful. I had to get medicine for that and in the end was left with 4 scars, 2 more bills totally an additional $630.00 between this office and their lab, and not surprisingly, no cancer.
