      Due to the recent merger of the Local Government Federal Credit Union into Civic Federal Credit Union, my credit with Experian and TransUnion has taken a major hit. The credit card i held with LGFCU was closed and a new one issued from ****. Since this was a planned merger that was years in the making, there is absolutely no excuse for this. The situation needs to be rectified immediately and the negative points on my credit reports restored. Since it is impossible to reach a representative on the phone, I am left with no choice but to file a complaint. My next steps are filing a dispute with the credit unions over this egregious mishandling of the merger. Please rectify this situation ****.

      I was a customer of ******************** and they were taken over by civic fed credit union official date June ******. I called on May 27 to report i hadnt been sent a debit card. I never received one and auto pays are being rejected. I have called, emailed them 7 times, chatted, and direct messaged on fb ( as civic stated on their fb page. Was told last thurs it would be here in 1-2 days. Now they wont respond at all. There are thousands of clients like me that are waiting on our debit cards . If you call civic you wait over 3 hours if you can get through. Meanwhile, my bills on autocontinue to get rejected. I just want my debit card

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

      Thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter. After many weeks, i received a call on friday and debit card arrived today.  I truly believe your assistance is why this issue was settled. Thanks again, ***** Lewis

      Unfortunately LGFCU was purchased by Civic Credit Union and during the weeks leading up to the merger we were told that our cards would go offline for a short amount of time, our accounts would be inaccessible, and there would be a few hiccups. We were also informed that we would receive our new cards in the mail. I received a credit card only, with my debit card missing. Well, its been over a month and I've yet to see my debit card. I've called several times and am either on hold for over an hour to speak with someone or passed around until finally no one answers. I'm currently on hold for 40 minutes as I type this. Their answer is to go to the local branch, which is over 45 minutes away from me, just to speak with someone. State Employee Credit Union can't help either as I've tried this route too. I just want to be able to pay my bills and they're starting to have issues. Either send me my card or I'll go to a different bank and will recommend everyone I know that banks here the same.

      I have banked with Lgfcu for over 20 years. Never had a problem until they changed over to civic federal credit union on June 3, 2025. Somehow during the switch over my personal banking account was linked with my exhusbands account and he now has access to my personal banking account. I have been trying to get this straightened out since Thursday June 5, 2025 when I found out about this problem. I have called every day since then and spoken to at least 5 different people without any positive results. As of Thursday I now have no access to my account but my ex husband can access my account. Each time I contact Im told EVERY TIME that all they can do is submit a request for someone to call me during business hours. I cant do anything to secure my banking account and cant get in contact with anyone that can help me. I need my account secured and I need access to my account. Back story. My exhusband was legally taken off my banking account in 2019 when we filed separation papers. This was done at the Lgfcu branch in ********* NC. Civic credit union had no legal right to connect my account to my ex husband account and give him access to my money.

      I highly recommend someone look into this bank. In NC the local government federal credit union has merged to another bank civic federal credit union. Something is not right with this bank. Someone on a higher level needs to look into it. We were assured this would be a seamless merger and it had been anything but that. I read every single review on the App Store about the civic app we are to download and basically that is where people are expressing their complaints. The former banking app is no longer available and there is no way to view/manage funds. I am very concerned. Update: So after typing this complaint and saving it. I have since been scammed of the money in my bank account I knew something wasnt right with this bank. Please contact me in regards to this matter

      My State of NC retirement was deposited with Civic Federal Credit Union on the 23rd of May. It is not showing in my checking account. I have called numerous but gave up after being put on hold for over 3 hrs. I have texted and emailed with no response over the last 2 weeks. All I request is my $ from my state retirement.

      Civic has taken over all accounts from SECU and we have tried muptile times to make a truck payment and keep being placed on hold and still no answer on how to fix this problem.They need be under investigation for all problems they are causes for multiple people.This transfer has been in works for a good year and still havent good problems fixed .

      June 3, 2025 LGFCU is now Civic Credit Union. I received my debit card and activated it per directions. I tried to sign in to my new account, however, I did not have my old pw from LGFCU. I attempted to reach Civic for hours. I was connected to agent #1. I could not understand her muffled connection. She could not find my account. Agent # 2 Wanted my last transaction. "I cannot access my account to give you that". I offered name, dob, address, and and my account # from ********************". She wanted the last transaction. Requested Supervisor. Put on hold for 2.4 hours. So, I have spent from 9:00 to 1:45 attempting to get into my account. I had to take off from my job as a telehealth nurse $45 an hour. So, reimburse me. Give me access to my account so I can transfer out of this horrific company. Clearly they cannot handle this merger.

      Civic is horrible!! Theyve merged From LGFCU! The rep ***** didnt know anything!!! And couldnt assist with anything!! These people have our money and is playing!!! I dont have a debit card to this account and cant do anything with it
