  We rented with them last year. Some people of our group went on to the house while we waited at the place where you get the keys to the house. We were told by the ladies at the rental place that someone would have to inspect the house before we could get the keys. Since we had part of our group waiting in the driveway that whole time, I can firmly tell you know one inspected the house before we got the keys. After our week, they did inspect the house and found an old stain on the carpet in one of the bedrooms and did not give us about half of our deposit back (it was around $200) to cover what it cost them to get that stain out. That stain was definitely not us, but they did not ask us any questions or allow us to state our position. Very upset about this. This was probably the 4th or 5th year renting from them, but because of this experience, I will never rent with them again. Either they need to inspect each house after each guest, or not at all. They made us pay for someone else's (and their) negligence.

  I have rented from Holden Beach Vacations for years. This year I had to cancel my reservation. I notified them on June 2 to cancel my rental dates of August 20 - 27. They said they would do all they could do to re-rent the property, so that I would get my money back(-$225). I contacted them about my refund on 10/10.I contacted them letting them know that I had called the rental property during that week and the person that answered stated that they were renting the house. I took a screenshot of Holden Beach Vacations page with the said property calendar that stated that it had been booked and sent it via email to show that their own website said it had been booked. That have stated that it was not re-rented and I would not be getting any of my money back. I asked for the owner of the company's contact information. They responded by saying that they do not give out the rental property's information and I quickly emailed back stating that I did not want the owner of the property contact information but want the direct contact information of the owner of Holden Beach Vacations(Mr. ***** That was never sent to me. **** ***** the property manager called and left a message to check in with me. I did not answer because at this point I want everything in writing. I emailed, again, and stated what I wanted and that I would like my testimony to be shared with the owner, Mr. *** and the rental property owner. Holden Beach Vacations is cheating customers...***** **** ******* ********* *** ****** *********** ***.
