      Although they honored the warranty and ***laced a faulty alarm, the customer service *** was arrogant and condescending. I hope I never have to call back again.

      since Kidde changed there model they are the worst. would not recommend. We are electrical contractors we used to use Kidde on every job, 100's per year. false alarms on every job

      It took me two months and 12 emails and phone calls to get them to provide authorization to return failed radio active units. They resist, make it hard, confusing and misleading. They encourage citizens to throw them away. Poor fundamentals and poor customer service.

      Terrible product. It should be call the False Alarm system. Theya re interconnected and keep going of randomly and nobody at the Company is paying attention to the multiple reviews.A class action lawsit is what they deserve!

      What were they thinking when developing these smoke detectors???I am in a new development where these detectors are installed in every room. A few times, they have randomly gone off, usually in the middle of the night, such as last night.The screeching alarm, the LOUD "FIRE, FIRE, FIRE," and the BLINDING flashing lights cause incredible stress and panic, not to mention not being able to see with the flashing lights.Last night, when the alarm went off, I could barely find the door to my bedroom and slammed into the door frame. I was unable to find my child's room and fell down the stairs as I was unable to navigate where I was BECAISE I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING. These alarms are counter intuitive and dangerous and should be off the market.It is so dangerous to be panicked and blinded in a house fire. These smoke detectors should be banned and recalled.

      Horrible!!!!! Have the hardwired. Professionally installed by electrical contractor. About 6 months after installation they randomly started going off for no reason. Contractor came out twice, did resets, still problems. Came out again and replaced all with brand new alarms. Continued problems. Going off multiple times daily and nightly for no reason. This is absolutely ridiculous

      Terrible customer service. They do not want to honor the warranty on their products and resisted doing so. I will avoid using their products in the future and suggest others do as well. A 30 minute hassle to get one defective smoke alarm replaced.

      Spent 35 dollars bought one today 5/25 and guess what? Yep already needs replacement. This is an absolute waste. They manufacture these so that you have to replace entire smoke detector when no longer works. It should work period. This is dangerous. This company needs to be shut down or quit making the smoke detectors with built in batteries which can not be replaced.

      There should be an easier way for normal people standing on a stepstool reaching above their head to stop the chirping in the middle of the night. Mine kept chirping even after I changed the batteries and kept me up all night. Buy some other brand of smoke detector this one is horrible

      I've been trying to get 4 of the P4010DCS-W connected alarms to work properly for 5 years now. I've already replaced a couple of them and the replacements are already failing even though they're supposed to last for 10 years. I now have 3 more that have failed over the past few months and I just called their customer service number only to receive a message that the hold time is 80 minutes! These alarms have been very flaky & frustrating and their customer service is obviously overwhelmed trying to deal with the issue. Not good for a product you are trusting to protect you and your family's lives. I can't believe Home Depot still sells these. I'll be taking mine back to Home Depot to see if they will give me a refund or store credit and hopefully if they get enough push back and financial pressure then Kidde will actually do something to fix the problem.
