      A gimmicky but truly terrible product. Since we installed it 9 months ago, the alarms (the whole ``smart hive'' of alarms in the house) went off 12 times: in the middle of the night, early in the morning, late in the after noon... you name it. In all these times, there was no sign of smoke, dust, steam, or any kind of vapor, no source of any gas of any kind. Every time the alarms went off, it was extremely difficult to turn thenm off. After the first two false alarms, I read and re-read the instructions to turn the alarms off very carefully. I even went to their website and read more about how to turn the alarms off (I am supposed to find the ``source alarm'' and turn it off first, and then follow some further instructions). None of this helped. Eventually, I had to replace all the Kidde alarms. It is not an exaggeration to say that my entire family - my two young kids in particular- was traumatized by this product.

      I ordered eight smoke detectors from Amazon from Kidde. When I received them they were the incorrect smoke detectors. Kidde does not allow you to return them. Amazon honored my purchase and gave me a credit for the eight smoke detectors, but Kidde did not stand behind the purchase. My suggestion, do not order from Kidde. It’s a manufacturer that does not stand behind your purchase. Kidde……poor manufacturer to do business with. I have to pick at least one star because zero stars does not appear. It’s a terrible manufacturer to do business with. Avoid buying from Kidde at all costs.

      Bought 7 of these for my house. In less than a year, within days of each other, three started triggering fault making my whole house go off. I called Kidde for support and after going through a cleaning steps they still went off. I was then told they'd send me new ones within 10-14 days. That means that for two weeks, Kidde is fine with my life being in danger because they refused to reemberse me so I could go and buy new ones at the hardware store, which I did do anyway. Avoid these and Kidde as they do not care about their customer's safety!

      10 years warranty is a complete scam. They don't honour there warranty.

      Yesterday I was having trouble getting my smoke detector to connect and called customer service. The person who was suppose to help me turns out to be a nasty arrogant person. I was told by him if I want help I need to call him back after deleting the app. I waited 25 min to get help and now he telling me to call back. He also told me that he was not going to get a supervisor and I would have to deal with him. Well that was it for me.

      We have had such problems with Kidde. Every day we get multiple notices that the alarms need to be replaced even though they were just installed in 2022. We call, get nowhere, ask for a manager and never get a callback. The support people sound like they are working from home and have no training on how the alarms work.

      I suffered through a fire, thankfully no one hurt. The restoration company installed 6 model #7010BSLA detectors (hard wired with battery back up) and carbon monoxide alarms (hard wired with battery back up) both under the Kidde flag of products. The 7010BSLA alarms also have the FIRST ALERT logo. ALL of these alarms have malfunctioned. Because they are hardwired they all go off when one goes off. I had to isolate the problem unit each and every time. I've over the last 3 years taken them out of service(removed the problem unit) one at a time. Yesterday I took the last one out of service (two years before the "replace by"date) I tried looking for replacements for these units, tried to find the same units as they are hard wired, I wanted to get the exact same units so I wouldn't have to rewire the system. On both the kidde and first alert websites the model#7010BSLA is no longer an item. My options at this point are to rewire or go without hardwire units or go without detectors at all. Since I actually like my family the 3rd option is not an option, The first option isn't practical. The second option is what I'll go with except I will avoid anything made by Kidde and hopefully by FIRST ALERT. The cheap battery operated ones got me through the first fire, I guess I can trust those over "The best on the market" Kidde ones. AVOID KIDDE is my advice.

      bought model i12010SC in 2019. Supposed to last 10 years but started giving false alarms after 3 years. Customer service twice promised to send replacement and never did
