I have been dealing with this company for almost a year now trying to get a Carport. I paid the deposits I’ve got the permit. I’ve jumped through all their hoops. Now they’ve sent me a drawing and they expect me a 68 year old woman to go outside and measure the whole area of the carport, including from the roof to the ground. I’m physically not able to do this. The company won’t move forward until they get the measurements. But they won’t help me get them. I’d like some assistance in managing what this company requires of me as a customer to complete this job. I feel they are responsible for the measuring , and I would like to see the job completed.Business Response

We sent the customer her contract with terms and agreements that explains its the customer's responsibility to make sure everything is level and ready for the install. Our customer service manager has been speaking with her telling her this is normal and the manufacturer would be contacting her and asking her to do a few things to make sure the building and measurements would be correct when they got there. I am rejecting this response because:
I have a series of emails to and from all of these people asking them to help me give them what they need.Not only have I done that now I’m in the middle of dealing with this subcontractor who is throwing all kind of additional problems at me.
It seems that because of all the new regulations here in **orida, this company is not going to be able to install a Carport on my property.
At this point, I have asked for my deposit to be refunded so that I can get the work done by a company here in **orida who is familiar with all of the rules and regulations here

I don’t think this is some thing small. Carport central now has me dealing with Littleton construction company. They are telling me I need anchors on my house and my cement driveway to be cut. And no one‘s giving me a price for any of this additional work that was not discussed with me was not told that I needed. I was not part of the original quote that they gave me. The budget I live on allows me to spend what the original quote was. If they were going to now start adding thousands of dollars it’s out of my price range. I wasn’t advised that this could happen and I’m not prepared for it. I need someone to let me know what is involved exactly how much this is going to add to the bill. I already have that I was quoted. These people are not cooperating with me they’re not making it easy I have four or five different companies that I’m dealing with and they just shift you a row not that’s not me that’s that . Then, when you call them, it’s not them it’s someone else. And I’m playing monkey in the middle while these people torment me. This needs to be resolved. Made a deposit on 5-2-23 Of $2048.16. Cancel the order 5-15-23 because of levelness of lotta issues. On 17 June 2022 I started an email conversation with Nathen C****** from Carport Central. We came up with a design and price that was acceptable to me ($18,090). I paid a deposit of $3,256.20.
In September my ground work was finished and pad was down. I have emailed and called them countless times with no response. I had to use a different phone to call with before I actually got to talk to a supervisor named Nathen. He claims to be a different Nathen, but it sounded like the exact same person to me. He stated he was going to check with the manufacturer and call me back. I never received a phone call. I have reached out a couple more times and I only get forwarded to a voice mail.Business Response

They claimed to not reach me. They have NEVER contacted me before the morning after I issued the complaint, and the called stated he had not known of my issues before my review. I was bombarded with call after call while at work from an out of state number the next morning. I did answer and only then, after waiting almost a year for anything to happen on their part were they suddenly able to get it done in the next 3-4 weeks. I was also asked to take down my negative reviews. Their word is worthless at this point and I will not back down until the building is up (finally).Initial Complaint

On Oct. 28, 2022 we placed an order for a carport with Carport Central. We paid a deposit of $1043 initially.
Carport Central didn't ask for measurements of grade. We told them the site wasn't completely level. My husband took photos of the site and
after their review we was told everything was ok.
A second payment of $2340 was made and a construction date was set. The first date the construction crew came out the crew leader said it was too much of a drop in grade and he could not construct it because he would not be able to get the roofline level.
He measured the grade of the sight and reported it to the manager, Heather. They left the job sight.
Heather, the manager, told us that since the grade was more than they originally thought we would have to have taller support posts to make the roofline level and that would be an additional cost.
We agreed to pay an additional fee to get them to come here a second time with longer posts.
A couple weeks later a work crew arrived and began erecting the upright posts. The crew leader stopped erecting the posts due to the fact that the shop did not angle the nipples on the base post correctly and contacted the company. After back and forth haggling with Heather and the company we cancelled the job. We asked for a full refund. They refunded the second payment. They would not refund the first deposit.
After their construction boss came to our home two times and measured the site I feel that the company is responsible for the errors and we should get our full refund.Business Response

My husband and I purchased a 24 x 19 metal building on 07/26/2022 from carport central. The sales specialist Amy ****** was super helpful. We were told it would take 6 to 8 weeks depending on our concrete being ready. At time of sale our concrete was already poured and set up. When installers showed up we had issues with understanding them and only one of them spoke very little english and he could not understand what my husband was saying. The installer was measuring from the front of the house and back which is 26feet my husband told them the pitch of the roof and out was 24 feet which would work but installer could not understand him.
They installers left with out telling us anything and when we spoke with carport central we told them that the awing would work but they said the installers said it would not. communication with installers was extremely poor and we told the company about it.
We come to an agreement that only 10 inches would need to be cut off the legs and per manager Jeffery ****** said this would not void the warrant.
It has been 16weeks and we still have no awning and the manager of scheduling said it would be 6 to 8 weeks and would have to wait until another job close to us before they could schedule install. Also said that we would have to sign a waiver before the awning was put up and also pay total in full before they would install awing. I have tried many times to reach out to the manager and as of this day he is not returning my calls.
I have left several messages for the scheduling team and not getting a response but when I spoke to them some time back they were very short with me and I feel that they are making us wait out of spite.
We were told that we would be a priority when issues were resolved but that is not the case.
All of this is due to poor communication from installers and we requested to have them send out someone that is more fluent with english and I feel this has upset the installers and scheduling team.
We just want a scheduled date to get our awning. We have worked hard to save and put money aside for this and so far we have paid over 3,700 and still have nothing to show for it

CarportCentral.com had a good website & their sales were friendly.
That's the only good things I could say & things quickly downhill since ordering.
They're holding my $2117 deposit hostage based on a hurried Docusign & in the end, the metal fabricators they're 3rd partied with can't even build the $12k+ building according to wind hazard safety standards in the south Houston area, which was clear in a memo with a map of my area from the builders.
I feel lied to & if I do not receive my deposit back by the holidays,
I WILL BE REACHING OUT TO LAWYERS & GET THIS SETTLED!

I've tried calling & emailing multiple times since the issue started several months & since the BBB posting.
They have not responded for my plea to simply refund my deposit of the metal barn that they're unable to build.
I've found several other customers with similar grievances as myself on BBB, ******, ******** & ****.
My employer has a ARAG law protection network & the office of Fear law firm in Dallas guided me to open complaints with the Texas attorney general & the FTC, which I've done last week.
I'm seriosuly considering a class action lawsuit on behalf of all the blue collar workers that this company is hurting - either not deliver what's promised, or link them to low grade builders that are unable to perform the job according to the customers' specs or safety standards...

They currently have $4,759.83 since 2020 and I still have no building. I ordinally put the down payment for a garage and to keep my original estimate that carport central quoted me on. The company is several months behind and when I told them to start the new building the quote increase 4x the original estimate. I understand covid hit and prices had to increase, I am okay with that, however, when the price increase 4x in less than 6 months in 2022 from literally April 2022 til Aug 2022??? I wanted to building started in April 2022 and I agreed to the price increase, however you stated in could be a few weeks out..no communication or building from April 2022 til Aug 2022. I asked them about where or when they where going to start and the lack of communication is terrible. They sent me a new bill in Aug 2022 from 13,000+ to 26,000+. They said prices has increase, I said I agreed to the original price increase in April. I ordered a metal building from Carport Central, but before placing the order I discussed a gate and a hill that the driveway goes up to make sure neither would be a problem. The salesman said it wouldn’t after seeing pictures of the gate and a VIDEO of me riding an ATV up the driveway. The deposit was 1500. The Friday before they came to install it (after asking them not to schedule the install when I was out of town) I sent more pictures of the gate and driveway and asked that they be shared with the installation crew. They assured me they would. The crew showed up and had not been told about either issue. Having enough material for 3 jobs and mine being the first, the trailer was too heavy to pull up the driveway. The driver said to my wife “if I had known about the hill we would have done job # 2 first to lighten the trailer.” My wife explained that I had sent a video and pictures and asked that the info he passed on the them. On the 3rd attempt to get up the driveway, the trailer pulled the truck backwards and jackknifed. We had to call a tow truck which took 5 hours getting them out. They told my wife they were going to do job 2 first and return. After calling the office I was told they would be back in a week. The crew called the night before attempt #2 and said the 4 wheel drive on the truck went out, and that they were heading out of the area. After calling the office the next day (you might notice that they didn’t call me) they said they were working on getting me rescheduled. Last week I put a post on ******** about my experience. The salesman called and assured me they would do something. Another week has gone by and I haven’t heard from anyone. These guys are horrible. I would like them to come install the building. Oh, when they called to schedule the install they collected half of the balance. So I’m currently about 5k in the hole. The original install date was three weeks ago from this Wed. I ordered a carport on 7/1/21. They required me to put down 4% of the total cost of the building. I was hesitant because I wasn't sure if I would be able to get a permit for the building. They assured me that if I wasn't able to get the permit the whole deposit would be refunded back. I paid the 4% deposit and started with the permit. The first permit was denied on 7/22/21. I contacted carport central and it took them a few weeks to change the building plan so that I could continuing with getting the permit. After acquiring all the paperwork that the city needed, I reapplied for the permit and got denied again on 12/14/21. I reached out again to carport central and the third party contractor that they had put in charge of my building to get the required documents to carry on with the permit, but the did not send me any of the information of the building specs that were needed. I waited another month for them to send the paperwork that was needed and they still didn't respond. I requested a refunded mid January 2022 due to the fact that the companies were not responding and I could not get the permit for the building. They agree to start the process for the refund, but after a few months they did not reach out to tell me what the status was. I was finally able to reach the building specialist that was helping me with the building and he said that they would not give me a refund because the permit denial did not meet their requirement of it due to engineering specs and had permanently cancelled my order on 7/16/22. .Customer Answer

Good morning,
I do apologize, I have been spread a little thin so I am sorry I missed this one.This customer's county has set back restrictions from what the customer has told us, we have not been shown the paperwork from the county.
Our terms and agreements have a strict no refund policy they signed, and it clearly states it is the customers responsibility to check with county, state regulations and restrictions about getting their building.So we are not refunding the customer because of these restrictions and they were made aware prior to the sale and customer signing the order.
