      I received a large check from a client for services I provided for that client. The client was an NCAA D1 **************************** The check was returned. As I write this, no one at First Citizens, including staff at the branch where the check was deposited or their home office 'returns' **** can tell me why it was returned and they also indicated it could be ***** hours before I will know why it was returned. They also mentioned I'd be getting a copy of the check in the mail with an explanation. All of this is like something out of the ****s. I should be able to find out quickly from First Citizens why the check was returned so I can contact the client and let them know the issue. Also, the attitude of First Citizens staff is unbelievable with little or no concern, which is a deep contrast to the advertising and marketing commercials/ads they produce. I am leaving First Citizens and will not be back.

      First Citizens cost me thousands of dollars. After receiving 3 preapproval mortgage letters, they had to push my closing date twice because of my debt to income ratio. I kept asking why this was a problem as I had already disclosed all of my debt. It took them 2 weeks to figure out that they had mistakenly placed TWO car loans on my application that were not mine. After pushing my closing date the second time I was forced to move out of the house I was selling and rent an Airbnb while waiting for the lender to "rush the underwriting process." So far I have not received any compensation for the delay or the increase in cost of pushing the closing date as a result of their mistake. Absolutely terrible customer service and morals. This is no way to treat customers, a business of this size should be able to own up to their mistakes and provide compensation.

      First Citizens is the WORST bank I have ever worked with. I had an auto loan with them, I would send the payment via check every month via my traditional bank on the 13th, due on the 1st. They would receive the check and HOLD it until the 3rd of the month before cashing and then would send me late notices in the mail! I sold the vehicle on the 18th of the month, the payoff paperwork went to them on the 20th and they didn't process it until the 28th of the month. On the 29th I happened to call to ask for a copy of the payoff letter, they said I would have to wait 10 days for processing the loan closure and then wait for the letter to be mailed. If I wanted one sooner I could go to a branch. I went to the branch, they told me that wasn't possible and I had to wait. When I was working to sell the vehicle and receive a payoff balance, their customer service number hung up on me 3 times after I had been waiting on hold. When I finally got them on the phone, they said they couldn't email me what I needed, they had to FAX IT! Seriously, like I have a fax machine!!!

      This is the Letter I sent to CIT group which is a division of First of ************* If they call again they will be guaranteed further complaints. Good Morning,I just received a call from CIT ***** ********* of First Citizens) and was accused of being a customer named *******. I was harassed by this person and accused of lying as he continued to all me *******. I am reporting your company to the Better Business Bureau for harassing an innocent party. You truly need to work on the quality and training of your employees, even if they are a third party. It is your responsibility to pick professionals and not bullies to conduct your business.       Closed my account on January 6th 2023 and got a check for 19 dollars with Firist Citizens Bank got a paper in the mail from the Bank said 0 in amount and 0 over draft and 0 over draft fees , on January 31th 1030 dollar owe they say and on February 2023, 1040 dollars they say I owe after a closing statement of 0 owe on over drafts and over draft fees on January 2023 can you please help me thanks.

      We've banked with First Citizens in *********, NC for over 30 years. While the staff has changed off and on through the years, I've never had the terrible experiences said by others.
      Always courteous, professional and helpful. I've had to have my debit card changed because of phishing on my account, but the new card has always arrived in a timely manner.
      After seeing the customer review rating of 1.04/5 I felt that someone should say something positive. We truly like this bank.

      This a most visious bank I have ever dealt with or heard about the way they conduct business. A definite F grade.
      My bank account I had with them was hacked and all my money was stolen. I called the main bank in ******* for help in reporting fraud. They were very much hateful toward me and did not want to believe me.
      I want to warn anyone not to do business with this bank. My SSA Direct Deposit was sent to this closed account and the would not as much give me a courtesy call to let me know they had my deposit and I could come get it. Instead they are holding a grudge against me because we didn't see eye to eye. They were extremely hateful towards me today, December, 6, 2022.

      Can the BBB interfere? These reviews are outrageous. As a member of First Citizens for 20 years, it's absurd they can be in business with the customer service they offer. Especially during Covid, it's likely good to have a debit card and withdraw cash. I've waited for TWO YEARS to receive a debit card. They continue to say it was mailed, it is being mailed and now are saying it's delayed in production (still... after YEARS.) This is absolutely absurd

      If they would let me they get zero stars. 19 days for a card not even ordered. Called and accused of not being who I actually really am and called sir after correcting *** in the fraud department on that she intentionally did it again and closed my account because I called her a b****. ****** at the Pawleys Island SC branch seems to think it's ok for what *** did because my voice is hoarse and it was a "mistake" well the first time yes it maybe was the 2nd time it was definitely not.
