I took out a $14,000 loan from Proceed Finance (Security First Bank) in July 2023 for full-mouth dental restoration with *** **** ********** at ***** ******* ****** ******* ******* in Illinois. The procedure was never completed as promised. I was left with temporary, ill-fitting prosthetics and have never received final teeth or proof of what was done.

On March 7, 2025, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) permanently inactivated *** ************ dental license due to gross negligence, fraudulent billing, and patient abandonment. His office closed, and he disappeared, leaving me without medical records or a completed treatment.

I formally disputed the loan with Proceed Finance, but they refused to investigate and continue to demand payment despite the provider's misconduct. This has harmed my credit.

I request the BBB’s assistance in having Proceed Finance cancel the loan, refund payments made, and remove this invalid debt from my credit report.

Account number ******** Original amount of the loan was 18084.64 with an interest rate of 8.74%. The loan was supposed to be paid in 3/20/2028. I paid the entire amount in October 2024. I checked the web site under Security First Bank and my total amount owed was 0.00. I received a letter from ******* ********* Service that I owed $396.01 and I spoke to *** and ***** **** that I paid my ending balance and my balance was $0. They said since I paid via web, my interest was not computed and that I now owe $396.01. This amount is not stated anywhere in my account. I did received an email from Danny Lane that if I don't pay it will be compounded daily. I did ask on how they came up with this amount and was not given a calculation or an explanation. If you calculate all the interest I paid with what they are asking for it is $200 more calculation the 8.2%. I have impeccable credit in the 800 and I don’t want to ruin it but I feel that seeing a $0 balance on your account, and getting a bill with an unexplained amount is not correct.

I borrowed money from them for a dental procedure. I received a letter from them stating they don't have to explain anything to me. Once they do their checks, I would have to write to them about any issues. Two months later, they sent me a letter saying I owed them $1200.00 again.

I want them to stop sending me letters because I am not behind on my payments to them.

I paid off the balance of $15,731.39 as I would not have been able to pay it off before the promotion period and would have a large interest rate hike. I sent a bank check on 8/18/23 and I recieved a statement from them dated 8/21/23 showing a balance of $232.54. I was told that this is the interest accurred on the loan. Is this legal? I have never had an experience like this before.
