    I received ** *** ***** at Advanced Medical in September 2020. We received a bill from Advanced Medical over a year later for $*** stating our insurance would not pay. After many discussions with them and then with **** ********** ****** (our insurance at the time but not currently), it was discovered Advance Medical coded the initial service incorrectly in September 2020. **** ***** denied in September 2020. In July 2021, Advanced Medical billed **** ***** for a much lesser charge and was denied due to the billing time frame allowed by law expiring. Advanced Medical then sent us a bill for the $*** as we signed a form stating we would pay this if our insurance would not. I explained that our insurance would have paid as it had many times prior for this service if they had coded the claim correctly and submitted the second bill in the time frame allowed. **** ***** **** ****** has told me that we are not responsible for this and that Advanced Medical owes me a refund. We did pay this bill on April 27, 2023 when they reported me to collections. ****** ********** called me at work and so I paid this bill immediately. I was fearful of this hurting my credit but would like the refund as **** ***** said is owed. A few days later I received a letter from ****** ********** explaining how I could have contested this. The fault of non-payment is on Advanced Medical not billing correctly and not on me. I gave them my insurance who would have paid and the mistakes by their billing department are not my fault.
