    My name is ***** **********, and I am submitting this complaint against 402 Ventures LLC, the
    operator of HiBid.com.
    On June 7, 2025, I paid $404.09 via Zelle for an items won in an auction listed by ******* *****' on HiBid.com. Despite full payment, I never received the product, and the seller has
    ignored all attempts at contact.
    A simple search on the BBB website reveals multiple unresolved complaints against ****** *****,
    showing a pattern of fraudulent activity on HiBid. It is deeply concerning that 402 Ventures LLC
    continues to allow this seller to operate on their platform, putting consumers at risk.
    HiBid has a responsibility to vet and monitor the sellers using its site. By failing to do so, and by
    hosting repeat-offender sellers like ****** *****, 402 Ventures LLC is enabling fraud and betraying
    consumer trust.
    I am requesting the following:
    1. A full refund of my payment: $404.09
    2. Immediate investigation and removal of ****** ***** from HiBid
    3. A response from 402 Ventures LLC explaining what protections are in place for buyers and what
    actions are being taken to prevent such fraud in the future.
    If unresolved, I intend to escalate this matter to the FTC and other regulatory agencies. I am
    requesting the BBB's assistance in holding HiBid accountable for the businesses it permits on its
    platform.

    HiBid.com is an online auction software platform that provides independent auctioneers and sellers with tools to list and manage their own auctions. While we facilitate the platform's operation, each auction is independently conducted by the seller or auction company listed. In this case, ****** ***** was solely responsible for the sale, collection of payment, and fulfillment of items in the auction you participated in.

    As payments are made directly to the seller—in this case, via Zelle—we do not process or hold any bidder funds, therefor we are unable to process your desired refund. We strongly encourage you to contact your bank or Zelle directly to dispute the payment and request a refund.

    I by accident bid on a radio that was supposed to be $10 and it was $1000 and there was no way to cancel the bid.The radio was worth maybe $20-30.In the last 10 minuets suddenly 5 people were bidding and got the price up to $986, and I am sure they were shills for the auctioneer as there is no way someone would pay nearly $1000 for the radio.it appears that the auctioneer can see what your maximum bid is and had someone bid up to just below the max bid,This place is a scam.

    HiBid is a software platform used by independent auctioneers to conduct their own auctions. We do not operate the auctions ourselves, and we do not manage bidding activity, item listings, or sale terms.

    Any concerns regarding bidding errors, bid cancellation, or the final selling price of an item must be addressed directly with the auctioneer who conducted the sale. Only the auctioneer has the ability to make changes to bid placements or approve any adjustments after an auction closes. HiBid does not have the authority to cancel or modify bids placed during a sale.

    We encourage you to reach out to the auctioneer listed on the sale to discuss your concerns. Each seller sets their own terms and handles bidder communications independently.

    I have been charged multiple times for things that I have not purchased. I have called and asked them to close my account and refund the fraudulent charges. They refuse to close my account.

Bidders register directly with individual auction companies, and any purchases made through HiBid are completed between the buyer and the independent seller. HiBid does not charge users directly for purchases.

    Unauthorized Charges:
    We would like to understand more about the charges you’re referencing. As HiBid does not process payments or billing, any charges to your account would have come from individual auctioneers, not from HiBid or 402 Ventures LLC directly. We recommend checking your bank or credit card statements for the specific company name associated with the charges and reaching out to that business directly. We are also happy to assist in identifying the auction company associated with any specific transaction if you can provide the charge details (date, amount, and description).
    Account Closure:
    If you would like your HiBid account to be closed or deactivated, we are absolutely able to do so.     Approximately six months ago, I purchased items through an auction hosted by ***** ****** ******** (CCA) on ********** After receiving the items, I discovered they were counterfeit. I contacted CCA to request a refund, but they refused to provide one. As a result, I initiated a chargeback through my bank to recover my funds. In retaliation, CCA left a negative review on my Hibid profile, which led to my account being banned from participating in all future auctions on the Hibid platform.
    I reached out to Hibid’s customer service to address the issue. Their response was to suggest that I contact each individual auctioneer on their platform to explain my situation and seek permission to bid in their auctions. This solution is unacceptable and places an unreasonable burden on me, as a consumer, to rectify a situation caused by a seller’s misconduct and Hibid’s failure to enforce accountability.
    Hibid, as the platform facilitating these transactions, has a responsibility to ensure that auctioneers on their site operate with integrity and to protect consumers from fraudulent practices, such as the sale of counterfeit goods. Their lack of action against CCA and their decision to penalize me, the victim of a fraudulent transaction, demonstrates inadequate oversight and poor customer support. This experience has caused significant inconvenience, financial loss, and frustration.

    Resolution Sought:
    Removal of the negative review from ***** ****** ******** and reinstatement of my Hibid account with full access to all auctions.

    A formal investigation into ***** ****** ********’ practices, including their sale of counterfeit items, and appropriate action to prevent further consumer harm.

    Implementation of stronger policies by Hibid to vet auctioneers and protect consumers from fraudulent sellers, including clear mechanisms for resolving disputes involving counterfeit goods.

    A written apology from Hibid for their handling of this matter and the inconvenience caused.

Each auctioneer is solely responsible for their listings, item verification, customer communication, and dispute resolution. HiBid does not handle payments or merchandise, and we do not act as an intermediary in the buyer-seller transaction.

    Subject: Complaint Against ***** ***** **** ******** *** via HiBid

    I am filing a complaint regarding ***** ***** **** ******** ***, an auctioneer operating on the ********* platform. I participated in their auction on May 4, 2025, and won several items. As per the terms, I made a wire transfer of approximately $2,900 the next day. The auctioneer acknowledged receipt and sent me a paid invoice and tracking number on May 9.

    Since then, the tracking status has remained unchanged, and I have not received any items. I repeatedly contacted the auctioneer via phone and email without response. I then reached out to HiBid for assistance. HiBid’s response was: “Thank you for getting in touch. Your email has been forwarded to our team. We will be in touch with you shortly.” However, I have yet to receive any meaningful follow-up or resolution.

    The wire transfer was sent to ****** ****** of Sheridan, WY. The banking details used were:

    Bank Name: **** **** ******** ***********  Routing Number: ********* Account Number Ending: **** ****** Address Provided: *** **** **, Evanston, WY 82930 (reportedly closed)

    Recipient Address on Wire Confirmation: *** ******** ***** Minneapolis, MN 55402
    Upon further research, ****** ****** appears affiliated with another entity—Deeg Investments LLC, a Texas-based company.

    This situation has caused significant stress, financial loss, and frustration. I am requesting assistance from the BBB to help me recover either the items I paid for or a full refund. I also urge you to investigate ***** ***** **** ******** *** and review HiBid's practices regarding vendor accountability.

While we provide the bidding and listing technology, each auctioneer on the platform is solely responsible for their auction content, item descriptions, invoicing, shipping, and communication with bidders.

    We understand the seriousness of this issue and the concern expressed by the complainant. In this case, the auction was conducted by ***** ***** **** ******** ***, and the payment was made directly to the auctioneer, not to HiBid.  As noted in our Terms and Conditions, HiBid does not handle payments or merchandise and does not have control over the auctioneer’s fulfillment process.  Therefore we are unable to provide the requested refund.

    Purchased what were advertised as Pokemon Cards, 9 packs of 151, 9 packs of Surging Sparks, 9 packs of Prismatic Evolutions. All of the cards were fake, total reproductions, missing the official code card from Pokemon, card backs are purple, holo cards were reversed. Just everything about them was fake.

    Dear BBB Accreditation Office,

    I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the outcome of an auction conducted via the HiBid website. I placed a bid on Lot **** – Canik TTI Combat 9mm Semi-Auto Pistol on May 10, 2025, in the amount of $650.00. At the time of bidding, I was both the earliest and highest bidder.

    The auction concluded on May 18, 2025, with a realized final price of $650.00, which matches my bid. However, I was not declared the winning bidder, and no explanation has been provided by either HiBid or the auctioneer, despite multiple attempts to obtain clarification.

    This lack of transparency raises serious concerns regarding the integrity of the bidding process and suggests potential misconduct or irregularities in how the auction was handled. I am requesting that my bid be honored or that I receive a clear and documented explanation for the outcome.

    On 04/28/25 I won a gold bid on hibid.com through *** ******* ******* ***. I won two 1 oz PAMP Suisse gold bars in the amount of $4000. I was charged $83.40 for shipping and handling and $800 buyers premium. Total came to $4,883.40. A settlement statement was sent to me and I was instructed to make a payment within 72 hours. I made a payment. The seller has yet to give me my gold. The phone number ************* goes straight to voicemail. The address they have in Daleware **** *** ***** Dover, DE 19901" is very vague the other address they have in Florida ***** ** *** **, Miami, Flo 33130" is also very vague. The wire transfer I made has already cleared. They sent me another settlement statement with different Bank institution from a different state than the previous one.

    I have an account for half a year, have a total amount of money $2000+ spent on Hibid. No issues with the sellers. But last week my card was declined, today my account suspended.

    HiBid is a marketplace platform that provides listing and bidding software to independently operated auction companies. Each auctioneer using HiBid maintains full control over their individual sales, including bidder approvals, declines, and payment requirements.

    While we understand the concern, it’s important to note that if a credit card on file is declined—especially during or after a sale—the auctioneer has the right to restrict access to their future auctions. HiBid does not override these decisions, nor do we directly suspend bidder accounts from individual auction sales.

    If you believe this was done in error or would like to participate in that auctioneer’s future sales, we recommend reaching out to the auction company directly to discuss reinstatement.

    Purchased items from ****** ********* a business hibid stands behind in their business. ****** ********* Is selling forged autographs. They claim it’s with COA but the COA only states it’s live ink not that it was actually signed by the actors. The supposed autographs do not coincide with other autograph examples. ****** ********* Will not return messages, when contacted hibid they said it’s their own business & they have nothing to do with sales even though they get their fees & percentages from the items being sold by companies. When talked to person today they was very passive & just wanted to tell me it’s up to seller & they (hibid) wasn’t doing anything.
