No matter how many times you ask something, and they agree to it, that absolutely does not mean they will follow through. Not professional, not great communicators, and when there is blame to dole out, they will put it on you. Do NOT recommend.

      First off,

Due to an electrical house fire, damages were assessed, and honestly, I'm thankful no one was injured in the process.

My sister's home was the residence that sustained the fire, unfortunately, to say the least.

Due to the actual fire, l wasn't present during the actual event; however, the fire dept and police rushed to the scene, and they handled the event, consequently, my sister and her family were forced to vacate her home.

Fast forward to this: when Carlson solicited its services specializing in residential fire damages, etc., my sister, the homeowner, hired this agency, and nobody expected any form of larceny to occur. When l spoke with a contractor at first, nobody had an answer to the whereabouts of my missing high-end items. Moreover, several items ended up missing in the basement, and after consulting with the supervisor, Bobby, l decided to take it a step further. I will say that l felt cheated after we opened our entire home and garage to this agency, and l didn't expect the "CONTRACTORS TO THROW AWAY BRAND NEW HIGH-VALUE ITEMS." They claimed to have tossed out to the dumpster and thrown away, especially high-value items stored in the garage.

Another thing is that l find it cynical how a rusted screwdriver set managed to survive being tossed "into the dumpster" and not be conveniently thrown away. " I am not satisfied with Carlson, and I plan to get to the bottom of this larceny situation.

Our insurance company hired Carlson Restoration after a kitchen fire left our home uninhabitable. From the very beginning we had problems ranging from poor workmanship to communication with the project manager. Subcontractors were used for the entire project. The carpenters did an unacceptable job until I noticed what was going on. Having been in the construction business for many years I was able to observe their work and insist on quality work. They tried to use used lumber for the framing and were obviously not familiar with industry standards. The egress window a d patio door were installed incorrectly not level or plumb and not attached to accepted standards. I actually had to insist on different carpenters. They sent just one guy to replace siding on the entire house and he didn't do the job ti acceptable standards. The painters only put one coat of paint from the attic to the lower level. The insurance claim called for 3 coats on everything. The hardwood floors had to be refinished and this was an issue as well. They did not used the materials that we had requested and the finish was not the sheen we wanted and again only one coat of finish was applied. We chose kitchen cabinets that were to be made of maple and the ones that were delivered were oak. We were told if we insisted on maple that it would delay the project by approximately 5 weeks. They bathroom and kitchen vents were vented into the attic. Overall the entire project was not completed in a quality manner.
We are extremely unhappy with they way our house was restored

I have been dealing with Carlson Restoration since the hail storm in July 2022 - they still do not have all of the repairs done satisfactorily. My insurance company referred me to Carlson Restoration, so I assumed they would take care of things without causing me a bunch of grief. It has been one thing after another with this contractor. Everything from poor communication, sub contractors sleeping on my deck on their lunch breaks and blocking the exit, poor workmanship, leaving their mess for me to clean up, not pickup up razor blades and roofing nails, not showing up when they are supposed to, charging me for product that they did not use on my home, taking the product they charged me for (and then returned when caught), not calling to say they are (or are not) coming, the list goes on and on. They used subs for 100% of the work, but never came to check on that work or inspect it. So I have turned into an inspector now and just keep submitting everything I find to my insurance adjustor. He is a saint - he patiently deals with all of it and I am sure he is sick of hearing from me. But Carlson still to this day has not officially inspected anything that was done by the subs, except to come and repair what I complain about. Their foreman or whatever he is, is very polite, but that does not make up for the issues I have had. This has been a frustrating experience to say the least.
