I had the misfortune of dealing with this guy Dec 9,2024 after my son, who is attending UNO, parked in the Red Cross parking lot near the Blackstone area after business hours. Towed the car Friday night and the "business" is closed until 10-3 Monday morning. The guy people are referring to as Joe L********* directed him to a lot at 6601 C St. where Joe is conducting business out of a junk car parked in front of the lot. Wouldn't release the vehicle to my son since his name is not on the title even though my son is listed as a driver of the vehicle on the insurance card in the glovebox, he had the keys with him and I was willing to approve the release over the phone. That wasn't good enough and he wouldn't even speak with me on the phone. Said it was too easy to create a fake insurance card. Said I had to be there in person to claim the car, even though I live in Grand Island, NE. The other alternative was to write a note stating it was OK to release the vehicle to my son and have it notarized and mailed to him. His way of getting additional storage fees out of people and I suppose forging a note of this type would be way too difficult, if that was my intent. His rocket scientist brain working overtime. The guy appears to also operate under Tow Pros, currently or in the past, as this was on the tow truck door, which has a D- rating on BBB. Do not get involved with this guy in any way!!!

I believe Joe Livingston of Omaha owns this towing company. See Omaha Nebraska WOWT 6 news Article Feb 27,2024. “Towing Wars Heartland Towing” Joe Livingston. Joe says he follows the law to the T. He Can Not charge storage fees days he is not open. He says he charges $150 plus $25 fee to get your car back. Get a receipt for cash paid . I got my car towed which I was wrong in parking where I did. He is open 10 to 3 Monday thru Friday to pickup your car. I needed meds out of my car and he would not accommodate. What happens if I need my meds to live? Think about that the next time you call Heartland Towing for your towing needs. Is this an ethical business? Do you want to support this business? I got towed right by CHI where I park and pay everytime I am at CHI. Welcome to Omaha visitors! This is how we love on our out of town visitors that we work so hard to bring to Omaha! Tow my vehicle ? Ok. Hold my vehicle til Monday morning at 10 am. No! Be a Responsible and Ethical Omaha business owner! YES!

0 stars. This man would not let me get my needed medication out of my car. I also had to get the address from a review online because he tells you go call at caseys store. Why would you not put your address online when you are a towing company? **** * ** is the address. Rude and just plan disrespectful. Bad business avoid at all costs. This company should be shut down!!!!!

Heartland Towing A.K.A Tow Pros in Omaha is a predatory towing company who, allegedly, may be operating under the table.
Owner, Joseph L*********, is rude and abrasive.
He takes cash only and organizes vehicle recoveries during business hours 10am-3pm M-F, despite towing 24/7. I was told, “It’s not that I CAN’T take cards, I WILL NOT take credit cards, because people like to pay with a card and then dispute the transaction so I WILL NOT take it, never.”
He does not give out the exact address for his tow lot (6601 c st) and instead tells you to meet him at a nearby intersection. From there, you have to call him, and he gives directions that lead to his property.
Inactive US DOT # 23186590 on his tow truck.
He agreed to help me and a +1 recover our cars on Saturday, because we had the business owner of the property we were towed from reach out and ask on our behalf. Joe was sure to aggressively let me know that we should be grateful that he was allowing us to get our cars that day. He gave us no time to meet, telling us that he was already on his way there to do us this favor on a day he isn’t ‘supposed to work.’
He did not have change for the cash fee. When questioned about this, he reminded me again that this was a day he wasn’t supposed to be here - although others have reported the same. He’s scamming people out of extra dollars at a time.
I signed no paperwork to release my vehicle nor received any proof of purchase.
He has an attitude problem and is sketchy about his business.
There are some very damning reviews spanning across multiple years where folks have had the exact same experience with him. He has been taken to Small Claims and lost and attracted the attention of local news multiple times for indecent practices.
