We reached out to Tyler and Salem Tax and Financial the first week in March. Although we normally handle our own taxes we really needed some help and advice this year – two kids graduating and starting college, disability and medical payments, relatives passing away, job changes, etc.

Now they do not answer phone calls or emails and have kept our personal financial paperwork

    3/8: Signed initial agreement
3/13: Heard from Tyler setting up initial meeting
3/16: Initial meeting. Provided overview, all the contract paperwork and a retainer. We were assured that our taxes would be handled well and told to wait on major financial decisions like our IRA contributions until we met again.
3/18: All paperwork supplied. She insisted on our ORGINAL paper forms.
4/5: No word from Tyler - sent written follow up
4/6: Tyler said ‘she had some questions but all the paperwork was in hand. Could I meet on Monday the 10th. I took the day off work to accommodate her.
4/10: No word from Tyler. No response to messages. No meeting.
4/14: Wrote again – and finally on Friday night we find our she has done nothing. She tells us we need an extension and should prepay over $2000. She has no time to meet, no explanation, no returns, no advice.
4/15: We immediately answered all the questions and said we wanted our return filed on time – no extension. Tyler assured us saying ‘yes on Monday we’ll meet’ She disappeared again.
4/18 – TAX DAY – we hear from Tyler at 7:00 PM. We need to file an emergency extension for us and both our kids – she has done NOTHING. At this point we terminate the agreement, file the extension ourselves and ask for our paperwork and records back.

Since that time, she has refused to return our paperwork, refused to return phone calls and emails. They have proven unreliable in the extreme. She insisted on our original papers and we want them returned.

We have emails and documentation to support all the above facts.
