      Buyer Beware! Great Expectations when you enter the store; Promises broken; Poor customer communication & lack of understanding for customer care! After, doing a credit inquiry on my husband’s credit report there is now nothing to show for this transaction. The sale is void and his score is impacted.
      The furniture was ordered approximately 4 weeks ago & promised to be in store for delivery on 12/9 for which ultimately after I called the store to verify delivery date, I was told that it would be 12/28 with no explanation except that someone who came in after us purchased the same set & was invoiced to have the set for delivery which took our sofa & ottoman out from under us. William did not return my calls after he promised to speak with a manager & find out if he could make another arrangement for which I had to call the store again 2 times to ask for a manager to call me.
      The manager, who was Ashley called my husband at work & offered another living room set but not at a reduced price or wait for the 28th of December with a waived delivery fee of $130.00.
      This was totally absurd to treat customers this way. It was like selling something from under your nose to someone else. I called Ashley after she spoke with my husband for which she said this was the best that she could offer us. What an insult! This is not how you treat customers! Caution~ Terrible Experience and left with a Hard Inquiry to credit report.

      I purchased my second living room set from ashley furniture in ************* As to which the delivery date was changed multiple times and I was not available to be there on final delivery date. When I got home the set was wobbly and not as it was in store. I immediately went store manager hours after delivery who told me re select at another location in ****** ***l. They then charged me a re stock fee on top of my purchase and did not give the 50$ towards second piece of furniture coupon. I wound up spending 2800 more for new pieces because they had nothing else to our liking .. The following day unaware deptford was in the same group of stores. I acted as new customer and the sales rep called manager to approve price match. Jim Haley approved a price match of 5204 out the door which is much lower than my 5796 price from ****** ****. He even approved that match from the cherry hill where he was from the phone to *********  He then began side step and told me he can't do that for me because my sale is complete which did not even get delivered. They didn't even price match their own store and he is the one the gave both prices.. they bounced me and my pregnant wife around for days then gave us the restock fee back but did nothing about the price match which they advertised. I even have the printout price from deptford to compare with my price from ****** ***** He then said I can't cancel my order. All my dealings in store and conversations have been recorded. So I overpayed for furniture on top of all the other issues and jim Haley did not honor price match against himself after he found out I already paid in ****** **** 2 days prior.. nice way to treat a customer after all we've been through.

      I made a purchase at the Howell store. Was contacted the next morning to arrange for delivery then at 3:30 that afternoon received a call from Jared sharing that they would not be able to do the delivery because the sale rep sold me something that could not be purchased and there was no option for me. Never apologize. Upper management refused to speak to me. Worse experience ever.

      I purchased furniture from Value City ******** . I was promised by Cassidy they would hold the furniture with no timeline since we were doing construction. When I called to set up delivery she said my order was canceled in November , my deposit was never refunded back to my card. They said they tried to call , I received no calls . No texts , no emails , no letters . I cannot repurchase the sectional because the company went out of business. I have sent many emails with no response. I’ve purchased flooring , appliances , and cabinets . All on the same time line . All those purchases remain. Not sure what type of company makes promises to make the sale and does not follow through. Not one I feel comfortable doing business with. Still waiting for my refund.

      SAME as ******* below, they are refusing to pick up the recliner that is not the one intended on getting unless i reselect right now. i have asked for store credit, and they will not allow it. Also, i wanted the one online and they insisted they could not get it, yet i was able to go online and order it and it's being delivered tomorrow. They lied just to get the comission.i have offered restock fee and they still will not come get it, will not refund me, and will not give me a store credit. WORST attitudes ever in the fairless Pa office! Horrible customer service, it does not have anything in writing on the receipt for this situation. it's too big for my space the sales lady KNEW it was not what i wanted. She bad mouthed the online store and discredited them. Shameful. I want a ******* refund!

      We made a purchase for a new home and told it was okay to order even though the home was not ready for several months. We went to have the furniture delivered and the furniture was no longer in inventory because other locations borrowed from our purchase. They called us end of October to see when house would be done and we told them beginning of December. Someone put in the system 2-3 months. We are now waiting on delivery in 3 installments which the house is not local so we have to keep going up each time to accept delivery. It was never disclosed to us when we purchased that our order could be borrowed and given to other customers. We asked for compensation off of our total since none of this was disclosed to us and were told no because in the system it said 2-3 months even though we told them beginning of December. All of this should of been disclosed to us at time of purchase what their guidelines were.

      I purchased a sofa 9/2/2023.
      It was delivered and it turned out it was of a different material then my other sofa and loveseat purchased from Ashley's in the past year. It looks the same, but it is not the same.
      I contacted the store and was told I could receive a store credit if I paid $100 restocking fee. I brought cash to the store to begin the process as I have already bought 4 pieces of furniture* besides this current sofa. Additionally, I was planning to buy a bedroom set but not in the near future so I figured I would apply this store credit toward the bedroom set when I could afford it.
      However, the manager is now telling me I cannot get store credit UNLESS I purchase something PRIOR to having the unwanted sofa picked up. I said this is not store credit, this is forcing me to purchase something essentially NOW. Manager said that's store policy.
      It apparently is not as I could not find it anywhere on my paperwork for ANY of my purchases.
      I will not rest until I can inform friends, family and public about this shady illicit practice and the BBB is my first step. I will also take this past the BBB if this issue is not. resolved.
      Why would I want to put another minute or monetary amount to a store that does not inform customers of their policies nor can a customer find the policy. I want a full refund.
      I hope it is worth it for Ashely to rip off a repeat customer who has an entire house to still furnish and was going to continue to use Ashley's Furniture to do so, NOT ANYMORE.
      *I purchased a dining table, chairs and server just a few months ago.
      Out of the table, server and 6 chairs, 5 of those items were unbalanced when received.
      Ashley had to send out a 3rd party to rectify the issue. I should have seen the red flag then but I have used the same salesman who has been utterly professional and helpful in any way and I thought since the issues were corrected, I would continue to purchase furniture through him.
      ASHLEY destroyed repeat business.

      On 2/20/23 I ordered a couch (bed added) and love seat. The entire cost was over $3,000. I gave the measurements of the elevator where I leave to the salesperson. Upon delivering my furniture on 4/6/2023 it was discovered that the couch would not fit into the elevator. They knew the elevator was 88" high. I was told the couch was 87" and would fit. Come to find out the couch was actually 90 or 91" high. Here comes the bs. I was told by Phil, that if I really wanted the couch I would have to pay $240.00 to have it taken apart, brought up to my apt and put together!!!! WHAT!!!! I GAVE THE MEASUREMENTS!!! IT IS NOT MY JOB TO COME TO THE STORE, BRING MY OWN MEASURING TAPE AND MEASURE ANYTHING. IT'S MY JOB TO PICK IT OUT AND PAY FOR IT. THIS WAS NOT MY FAULT. SINCE WHEN DOES THE CONSUMER PAY FOR THE STORE'S MISTAKE?? I ASKED THAT QUESTION YESTERDAY IN THE EATONTOWN STORE AND WAS TOLD IT'S NOT ABOUT A MISTAKE..IT'S ABOUT IF I REALLY WANT THE FURNITURE!!! ****?? SINCE WHEN???? THEY BOUGHT THE LOVESEAT UP...THAT FIT...I AM SORRY NOW...BUT I WILL PAY FOR THAT! I WAS TOLD I COULD PICK SOMETHING ELSE OUT, BUT NOTHING MATCHED THE LOVESEAT. I THINK THAT MAN IN THE EATONTOWN STORE HAS SOME GALL TELLING ME IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MISTAKE....THEY DO NOT WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY THAT SOMEONE MESSED UP BIG TIME AND WANT ME TO PAY FOR IT....TO BE FAIR...THE STORE MANAGER HAS OFFERED TO PAY HALF OF THE COST AND HAS ACTUALLY GIVEN ME THE MONEY FOR IT. THANK YOU NICK SO MUCH FOR THAT, BUT I STILL DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY ONE RED CENT....VALUE CITY WAS ONE OF THE BIGGEST STORES AROUND WHEN IT WAS LOCATED IN ******* ****** **** AND I NEVER HEARD OF ANYTHING SO INSANE IN A FURNITURE STORE IN MY LIFE.....HOW DARE YOU PUT THAT ON ME....YOU PEOPLE NEED TO EAT THE COST FOR YOUR MISTAKE AND DELIVER MY FURNITURE. NOW NICK IS OUT FOR AWHILE....I HOPE HE IS ALRIGHT. A WORD TO THE WISE.. VALUE CITY OR ANY OTHER STORE MAKE SURE YOU FIND OUT EVERYTHING, BUT SOME THINGS ARE SO OUTRAGEOUS. UGH!

      My husband and I recently visited the ********** ** Value City location (*** ******* ** Eatontown, NJ **********) and it was such a troubling experience and it was NOT due to our Salesperson who was absolutely wonderful.
      The poor experience was really due to the rest of the employees who are so rude and mean to our Salesperson.
      First, we were thinking of buying a mattress off the floor. Our Salesperson told us the team had an internal meeting earlier and it was brought up to discount the mattress even further and it'd be around $700 from the original price of $2200. When we called the store manager over to discuss delivery, he absolutely berated her in front of us for giving us that price on the mattress and said HE is the only one who could offer any discounts on the mattresses. We were just shocked that he would talk to her that way in front of customers! She also didn't promise us anything regarding the price and we weren't upset that the mattress wasn't the price that we had initially discussed.
      Second, when we were filling out some paperwork, she went over to the Customer Service counter where the store manager further and loudly chastised her. To do it so publicly was difficult to watch and hear.
      Third, as we were completing the purchase, we were talking with the Salesperson who helped us and just finishing up our discussion and thanking her for her help. Another employee came over to us and rudely proclaimed to the Salesperson, "There are other customers on the floor..." as if we were not a customer and if the Salesperson was being lazy and not working.
      We very much enjoyed working with our salesperson and think she did a fantastic job in helping us pick out the furniture we needed. We would 100% work with her again, but management was not professional and created a very uncomfortable environment for us as customers.

      The quality of the furniture was poorly made and the store was poor in their decision to help resolve the issue. The store is Value City in Green Brook, NJ. The furniture has been in my home just over a month. They sent a technician who dd not repair the chair but lied and claim he did. NEW furniture should have no need for repair. The couch is POORLY MADE.
