I had LeafGuard sales guys out for an estimate on new gutters and the promo said that I would receive a $50.00 **** card for one hour of my time. They took over two hours and gave me a price that was crazy high, so dropped price that was still 4x higher than another quote I had for new standard gutters. Salesman left me with a form to send in after he signed it, and I completed it a mailed it per instructions on form.Never received card and started calling on 12/13/24, took my info and got call back about a week later from G.M. who was a real piece of work, telling me I never sent in the form, basically calling me a liar. Send he was sending out a card however. 01/30/25, still no card and called and said I wanted to talk with the G.M.s boss as I will not put up with his b.s. again. Never got call from R.M., on 02/07 got call back from **, said he would check on it and call me back, never did, and have been ghosted on two calls since. Its only $50 and I have spent a lot more of my time, its just a matter of principle now ??. Dont believe this company and sure happy I didnt purchase their overpriced gutters.Business Response

THEY QUOTED ME $18,000.00 FOR THE ORIGINAL PRICE. ALLEGEDLY THEY CALLED SOMEONE AND MAGICALLY CAME DOWN TO $9,500.00. WHEN SPEAKING WITH A MANAGER OVER EMAILS THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD HONOR THE $9,500.00 BUT WOULD REMOVE ITEMS THEY ALREADY SAID WERE INCLUDED. I WAS TOLD BY THE SALES PERSON THEY HAVE PEOPLE PAYING $18,000.00 OUT OF POCKET BUT CHARGING OTHERS $9.500.00. I had a consultation to get a quote. I was in the process of getting quotes from other companies as well. I was super pressured to make a decision that day when I had more estimates on the following weeks. I had to have a phone call with the I guess manager and it was so uncomfortable. I had received multiple emails telling me if I did a free consultation that I would get a $100 **** gift card. I never got the gift card even after waiting the 6 weeks they told me to wait and now they're completely silent. I sat through a very uncomfortable sales pitch and they lie about giving you a gift card in returnBusiness Response

We had Leafguard install a new clog free gutter system 3 years ago. They guarantee that if the gutters do clog they will come out and fix the gutters at no cost. This winter we had massive icicles forming off our gutters - which only happens when the gutters are not operating correctly due to clogging. We have called Leafguards 800 warranty line and was told someone from the local office will contact us. Its been weeks and still no one has called back, even after calling again to the warranty line.The gutter system was outrageously expensive, nearly 5 times the price of normal gutters, and the main reason we agreed to pay the price was this guaranty that they now are not honoring.Business Response

This morning, 3.13.2025 I had a crew go to the ****** residence. The crew inspected the customer's ********************** system and found the following;
The LeafGuard system's flashing/drip edge is installed properly
The LeafGuard system was properly pitched and there was no standing water inside the system
There was no clogs inside of the LeafGuard system
The LeafGuard system was properly installed on the fascia board and not above the roofing deck
The icicles the customer experienced were not due to malfunctioning of the LeafGuard system.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and agree that a crew came out today to inspect the issue, and found no current issues. They did ask me to reach out again next winter if the problem with icicles returns. I was told when they called me back (only after filing a complaint) to schedule the crew to come out that icicles are a common issue with their system since it is a closed system, so ice cannot accumulate in the gutters as it can on standard gutters. And while that makes sense, our icicles were so large and over the front door that we had to block off our front walkway and not use our main door. Im still hoping if this reoccurs we can find a solution.

Although work was done in February 2024, I did not know where or how to complain. I did sign to have it done although did regret it almost immediately. There is about 12 inches of rain in the area and this was really over kill. I was advised against my decision almost immediately. I purchased a mobile home for $140,000 as I am retired and have moved closer to family. It needed many repairs which I was trying to get done. This cost was above and beyond for the home it was being done to. That didn't stop the salesman from talking me into it. If that were the only complaint, I probably could live with it but almost immediately since installation, pieces of the gutters are falling off. I didn't think as much about it after the first one but they continue to happen with the last part being the largest of all thus far.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: When I wrote BBB a week or so ago about this, they (LeafGuard) did email saying someone would show up to repair the gutters. Workers arrived, picked up the pieces and screwed them back on. I have been festering over a year about this purchase. I did sign the papers. I was and am, in my mid-eighties and had been ill for a long period of time. Now, I am recovered and aware of what I have done but think the whole sale was unconscionable. I had purchased a 50-year-old double wide for a bit over $140,000 and was having work done with flooring, painting, plumbing and electrical expenses. The salesman came to *****, presenting a convincing reason about why I should purchase their gutters, commenting negatively about other brands, I signed the papers and wrote a check for $3,000 with a Contract Amount $17,483.33with a total Balance Due of $14,483. Just looking at that amount now embarrasses me and I am truly ashamed. I signed papers on February 17, 2024, which was a Saturday. Almost as soon as I signed, I wished I had not. Oregon allows cancellation within three days; I did not do that. (Wasco has 11 inches of rain a year.) I received a follow-up notice dated February 22, 2024, showing the original amount of $17,483.33 with another total showing $16,219.00 with a total financed of $13,219.00. I received a notice from ************** with interest of ***** and a charge for the financing. I panicked and called the salesman telling him I was not going to pay that interest and wrote a check to the bank for $13,248.00. He said that I could have made payments for no interest for an extended period. I do not remember that.

I have Leaf Guard gutters installed in my home since 2007. One of the primary reasons I chose LeafGuard was due to its advertised benefits including maintenance free and clog free. However, I have encountered through the years an issue that was never mentioned during the sales process-small birds have been able to build nests in the system through the gaps which is part of the design, leading to blockages negating the clog free claim.I would like to know if LeafGuard,Inc. offers any solutions for this issue, particularly for existing customers who have already had the system installed. Are there any modifications, accessories or other recommendations to prevent birds from nesting within the system? February ******* we had LeafGuard of Birmingham install "clog free"gutters on my parents home in ********, ******* mom had attempted on numerous occasions to contact LeafGuard to inspect the gutters because she did not think that they were operating correctly. Both parents are deceased now and I need someone to inspect and clean the gutters. I have made three (3) phone calls (February 10, 18 & 26) each call I'm being told that the Area District Manager will contact me by the end of day. Well I haven't heard from anyone as of today February 28th. We purchased these gutters specifically for the "CLOG-FREE WARRANTY" which doesn't seem to work. We had a hail storm last May and it damaged the H313431313632**373031H. I called them and it took them months before they came and they said they would come on Friday. Finally someone came out and they said they had to replace the whole leaf guard. They sent off a two story house information and this was wrong. I told them I live in a ranch house. ***** ********, their **** said they would come out and they just don**;t show up.
