Business Name: Certified Green Team Service Date: 6/5/2025 Service Location: ********************* Type of Service: Sofa/Upholstery Cleaning Amount Paid: $200 via Zelle Contact method: Phone booking followed by in-person technician visit I am filing a complaint against a company called Certified Green Team for deceptive business practices, bait-and-switch pricing, and aggressive and unprofessional conduct.I initially contacted them by phone to request sofa cleaning for two sofas. Over the phone, they quoted me $130 total, and confirmed they accept credit card, Zelle, cash, or Cash App.However, when the technician arrived at my home, he refused to honor the original quote, instead demanding $200, a nearly 50% increase, and pressured me into agreeing. He was rude, dismissive, and refused basic customer requests (like taking off his shoes before stepping on carpeted areas with children present). He carelessly spilled soap and water on my laminate floor and performed a very poor cleaning job, leaving visible stripes of dirty vs. clean areas, making the sofas look worse than before.I told him I wanted to stop after the first sofa, but he aggressively demanded full payment and insisted on cleaning both. He also claimed that the stains would disappear after drying in 34 hours, which did not ********* the end, the technician refused to take credit card, claiming the card tap was broken, and demanded ***** payment and a tip all while being extremely aggressive and not leaving until paid. It felt threatening and coercive.I believe this company uses deceptive tactics, inflates prices after arrival, pressures consumers, and delivers substandard service. Based on Yelp and ****** reviews, this appears to be a pattern of behavior, not an isolated incident.I am requesting that this company be investigated for fraud, misrepresentation, and coercive business practices, and that others be warned before becoming victims.Initial Complaint

We called Certified Green to get an estimate for a fireplace repair. The company sent us an employee by the name Johnny. Who first, quote us over $10, 000 for repairs. We told him the price seemed extreme, so he lowered the price to $ 5,100 and wanted a 65% deposit. We said no way, we would only agree to $1000 as a deposit. Gave him a check and was suppose to return 4 days later. He did not return for when schedule and did not call. Unfortunately showed up the next day unannounced to repair fireplace. He did not bring correct part and place a temporary roof cap that did not fit chimney and was rigged in place on the chimney. He requested another deposit $ 2375 in order to order correct parts. Did not return or call about parts or returning. We call the main office to find out the status of our repair. Receptionist could not give us an answer, so a supervisor/ manager was suppose to give us a return call. Waited another week to get some type of resolution. In the meantime, the roof chimney flew off the roof and landed on the front lawn. So we called the office to complain, again. They sent us a new subcontractor who advised us the whole should of only cost around $2000 and we asked if he could do the job and would we be intitled to a refund. He said we would have to pay him the whole. 2200 and he could not do anything for us regarding the money already paid. After reaching out to the office about the situation. The office would not let us speak to any managerial person and could not explain who her boss was and who we needed to talk to regarding the situation. They continue to hang up and disconnect our calls. The original service man called us back and said he made a mistake with our estimate and after we expressed our request for be refunded our entire deposit of $ 3375.00 since nothing was repaired or fixed. There has been not phone calls, no returned call from service repair man or resolution from Certified Green Team at all.Initial Complaint

This business told me over the phone that a dryer vent cleaning was $79.99, once the technician came he looked and immediately said he only does deep cleaning which is $150.00. I told him no that is ok and to leave. He then called me around 5 minutes later stating that he would do it for the price of $79.99. When I called and made the appointment I was told that they accept check, cash or credit card. After the "cleaning" was done I was told they don't accept checks, I didn't want to use my credit card nor did I have cash on me but I said ok I will pay with the credit card. Then he wanted to add 10% for using the card which was not brought to my attention nor is it stated on their website about this fee, the 7% labor tax in New Jersey which I know tax is always added and then he (the technician) also said that there will be a deposit fee as well which he told me he did not know how much that would be. I did not want to provide my credit card information with a open unknown deposit fee so I declined to pay and called the company. After a few calls I was able to speak to a supervisor and agreed to pay the $79.99, plus 7% tax and a 2.9% credit card fee just to get this over with. After the technician left I reviewed our indoor cameras and saw that he only spent 5-7 minutes total and removed just a small handful of lint which there should of been a whole lot more with even just a basic cleaning. I felt I was mislead by this company and ripped off. This technician even have the necessary tools to complete this job as he had to use one of mine.Initial Complaint

Tech came to my house for our scheduled appointment but demanded i zelle him up front. I zelled ****** and he looked up in my chimney, then proceeded upstairs to check my dryer. He went into my bedroom and asked me to come in there with him to discuss what needs to be fixed. I said i wasn't comfortable speaking with him in my bedroom and explained he hadn't even looked at my dryer yet. He stepped out of my room, moved my dryer over and said the dryer vent was disconnected and asked me to come back into my bedroom (Female home alone) and said no, and asked if he could leave at this time. He refused and would not leave my bedroom. I called my neighbor to come over and help me, and then he finally came downstairs but still refused to leave. My neighbor explained he would contact the police and after that the tech left. I called the company for a refund and they either hang up on me and will not release the techs name, or they keep me on hold and never pick the call back up. I have not been able to resolve this on my own. I have this techs behavior on the cameras throughout my home.Initial Complaint

9/15/24 I scheduled a service from 1 to 3 for duct cleaning for a special of $149.99 with dryer vent cleaned a total of $200.00 That was quoted over phone along with a complementary of sanitation service. The tech got here late which I waited all day for, He gave me a quote of over thousand dollars. The $200 special was a scam to get in my house. This is illegal to quote a price to someone and then change it when they get in my house. The company knew it was a 1850 sq ft house with one unit. There was no surprises when they got here just as I told them I would like them accountable for the price they gave. The special is on their website with no restrictions, for example how many vents as they already knewInitial Complaint

I called Certified Green Team to make an appointment to have my dryer duct cleaned. I was told by the receptionist that the price would be $79
They arrived and looked at the vent and told me that it was broken and had to be replaced for $400 and that it could not be repaired. I complained that I could not afford that amount and was then told that they would repair is for $225. The problem was that the elbow had become disconnected and needed to be reconnected and took less than five minutes
While they were working they caused damage to the ceiling leaving a hole 2x2 feet and broke a shelf pulling the connections away from the wall and causing it to collapse
When it came time to pay, they charged me 9% for using a credit card and asked for a tip several times. The total bill wound up costing me $303.74
At this point I now have to have my ceiling fixed and the shell re installed which will cost me several hundred dollars.
I am 84 years old and feel that I was taken advantage of and price gauged. They lied and were completely dishonest. I have health issues and do not really have the ability to start a law suit, but these people should definitely be penalized
