  I purchased a new house in Toms River and made some remodeling so I was looking for a company to convert for me the wood stove fireplace I had to an electric fireplace, I looked around for rates and felt that A1 Chimney was the company that gave me the best rate for the level of quality I was looking for.The booking with them was easy and quickly, As soon as I gave **** the ok to proceed with the work he went to their warehouse and called me back and told me they already had everything on stuck so he can start the same day!**** came with his team, They completed the project in only 2 days which other company told me at least 4 work days, Without any surprises during the project, Very cleaned and organized team.I'll definitely recommend them to anyone I know!

  I recently had the misfortune of using A1 Chimney. As I had explained to the person who answered the phone my ventless gas fireplace has started setting off the carbon monoxide detector. Ive had this fireplace for 7 years and the damper stays closed because its a ventless fireplace which is better for heating the house. The technician came to my house. First of all, he didnt speak English and didnt understand what I was trying to tell him was the problem. After many attempts to try and explain, he finally had me speak the problem into his phone so he could read it. The sum total of what he did was look up at the damper and, from what I could understand, tell me it was dirty, and that I needed to open the damper to let the carbon monoxide out. I asked if it needed to be cleaned and I think he was trying to tell me that the damper would clean itself if I ran the fireplace with the damper open. I tried multiple times to explain that it was a ventless fireplace and the damper didnt need to be opened and that, in fact, I have been using it for 7 years this way without a problem so something must be wrong. He didnt even look at the logs or gas line, never mind, take it apart to check it. He just continued to tell me I needed to open the damper, collected his $99.00 and left. Being totally frustrated, I then googled the problem and found that if the log placement was not correct, it could cause the problem. My son-in-law and I then took the logs apart and found that 2 or 3 of them were incorrectly placed. We rearranged the logs, with the help of the buyers manual and I havent had a problem since. *** reached out twice to speak to a manager and have gotten no response!
