On Jan 29 th 2023, I went to JacksonnHewitt to have my taxes done! The tax preparer explained to me all the charges and fees that I had to pay to get my taxes done and I agreed and payed the fees and had my taxes done ! One fee was over $500 just the to file through there services along with a few extra fees as well! Upon agreeing with all the fees I payed over ******* to have insurance incase the *** Audited me! On mo nm March 15 th I was Audited and had my Acciunts on hold while they are in the middle of my audit and they sent me a letter stating everything they needed from while they Audited my taxes. So I reached out to Jackson Hewitt and asked for help! I was appalled when they said they couldnt help me and to just send them what they need in them exact words that my same tax preparersaid to me)! I said I payed over $900 just to get them done including extra fees incase this happens! And i reached out several times for help and not one time have i got any help and I am now facing a financial crises, the tax card that I used to get my taxes was through American Express through jacksonnhewitt and now that account is on hold along with my job I have that I use for direct deposit! I need help and I need help through this financial crisis I am in ! Please can I get someone to help me? They have also advised the client to reach out to the state to check the status of her refund as this is the area she is having issues with. I filed my taxes with Jackson Hewitt this year and after they charged me more than what the lady told me i come to find out that my state went paper. I was charged for efile both federal and state. Then she didn't file my EIC for my non dependent daughter. I ended up having to amend my taxes and then i was charged again and still haven't gotten my state taxes. It doesn't even show up on the Where's my Refund page. I feel like I was lied to about pricing and about not efiling both my federal and my state like I do every other year. This place is a joke and do NOT go to the Jackson Hewitt on E 14th and have ******* do your taxes. She lies and then doesn't have the time for you after you pay. This business did my IRS filing. I brought the documents for my property taxes over 5 weeks ago. I was told repeatedly they would be doing the work, even stopped by twice, but nothing was ever done. No calls. no response. These are extremely private and so is my information given to them. No one answers the phone nor calls back when you leave a message. I have no idea where this is at. Filed my taxes using Jackson Hewitt and was promised a certain amount. Purchased the Worry Free Guarantee which covers any errors made on behalf of Jackson Hewitt. Sure enough they made an error when preparing my taxes that caused my refund to be $2000 less than what it should have been. Been trying to follow up and get the remaining money that I am owed and kept being told that it's "Pending" and that's all they can tell me. Three weeks have gone by and I have not yet heard from anyone. Called them today and they say the same thing. "Pending" no further information available. This company is the biggest scammer out there - going back to doing my taxes myself. This company is incompentant.Business Response

Now that all the documents have been obtained, the claim still has 3 steps to go through. I paid Jackson Hewitt about $550 in early 2022 to file my 2021 state and federal tax return. They never sent my state in. I have been in continuous contact with Jackson Hewitt trying to get a refund as I received fines and penalties and miss out on the extra $500 my state gave for filing taxes on time. I had to get my taxes done a year late because of this. Jackson Hewitt guarantees the biggest refund or your money back. I believe I deserve my money back. Please help me they are just running me in circles. Under the Accuracy Guarantee, if there is a preparer error a refund of the cost to file the return can be refunded if a free amendment is not needed to correct the error. The issue with not filing the client's state return is a preparer error and the state return was filed at a later date. ********** only charged the client $9 to file the state return. We have refunded the client's $9 filing fee and offered a concession for the delay in processing the return electronically with the state. I was charged a total of $550 for federal and state. The tax preparer NEVER bothered to send my state taxes in. I REPETITIVELY CALLED MULTIPLE TIMES A MONTH THROUGH THE WHOLE YEAR OF 2022 ALL THIS COMPANY CARED ABOUT WAS TRYING TO GET ME A JOB SO THEY CAN GET COMMISSION THEY DIDN'T CARE TO MAKE RIGHT WHAT THEY DID I LOST OUT ON $500 MY STATE WAS GIVING FOR TAXES BEING FILED ON TIME AND I ALSO HAD A STRUGGLE FOR OVER A YEAR JUST TO GET THEM TO TURN MY TAXES IN IT TOOK THEM A YEAR AND A HALF JUST FOR ME TO GET $9 FROM THEM AFTER THEY GUARANTEE BIGGEST REFUND THEY DON'T GUARANTEE THEY'RE GOING TO ACTUALLY SEND IN THE REFUND YOU PAY FOR THEM to send in for you! I was getting thrown around from person to person for over a year just trying to get this resolved. The couple times I did get to talk with a representative I was told they have complaints about this same tax preparer on a regular basis this tax preparer still works for them! I will be filing against them to the **** Commend anybody go to Jackson and Hewitt? Happy about getting $9 after a year and a half of fighting for them to file my taxes that I paid for regardless of the amount I should not have to fight for a year and a half to get my taxes done through a company that was already paid for it!!! I have to report Jackson Hewitt to the *** because this tax preparer also put false information and deductions on my tax forms! And all Jackson Hewitt want to give me is $9 on a gift card that I can only use on the internet!!!

Last night 4/17/2023 I had an appointment with ******** with Jackson Hewitt located inside ******* to file my taxes. I was charged over $500 and top of that I brought in a 50% for first time flyer with this company and they didn't honor the discount. She said her supervisor said it was past the date 4/9/2023, when the flyer didn't have a date of expiration on the flyer. ********'s supervisor gave me an ultimatum that I can file or go elsewhere. That they cannot honor the discount. First being over charged when i wanted to file short form and secondly being charged $548.00 and she only gave me $48 discount. I was mad and I was there over 2.5 hours. I would like my $250 or more return back to me. See attached flyer. I felt that the manager treated me rudely on the phone.Business Response

We have spoken with the office and there will be no fee reimbursement. The Client has self employment which makes a return more complicated and cost more. The client also spoke with the District Manager who did offer a small discount but all promos had expired on April 9th and could not be processed in the system. Client paid the fees charged and then opened a complaint. There are no errors on the return so the refund request has been denied.

My preparer waited until the work had been done after two hours to tell me I owed almost 600 dollars in fees for 3 W2 forms, a ****, and a broker form. There were no payment plans offered. This outrageous fee depleted my bank account and now I have to worry about putting food on my table. There was a sign on the wall stating I could save up to 50% off my fees and nothing was ever mentioned. As far as I know I got 0 discount. I should have been given at least an estimate of what I could expect to pay from the beginning when he knew it would be this high. The lack of communication is astounding. He was silent for the majority of the two hours I was there, only explaining that it would be expensive after the work had started, leaving me no option to back out and choose another preparer or ask about payment arrangements. Waiting until the very end to tell me my fee was close to 600 dollars and due immediately was unprofessional and inconsiderate. This fee is so outragous that it exceeds my federal refund. With all the advertisements about saving, those oppotunities should have at least been mentioned and explained. The only deduction he talked about was the mileage for my rideshare self employment, so I didn't get asked any questions to qualify for others, and if he got them I didn't know about it. You need to communicate throughout the process. The bulk of our conversation should not have been about your computer system messing up. This is not solely about the price, it's your lack of communication throughout the entire process and leaving me in the dark as to what's going on.Business Response

I received an email on Saturday with an offer of 50% off tax services with no expiration date. I went to another location that was a franchise location and wouldn't honor it due to not being a corporate store. I contacted this corporate location and was told by *** that they couldn't honor it either. I met with Jackson Hewitt to file my taxes as a new customer based upon their 50% off for new customers promotion in March 2023. I dropped off documents and was awaiting the agent to complete everything so I could go back in and sign for them to file my taxes. I had to correspond with agent via her personal email because their system was not accepting my documents. Through correspondence I was quoted as being responsible for $311 for them to file my taxes. Unfortunately, I had a death in the family and notified them for a rescheduled appointment for today. When I completed everything today, I was told I could no longer use the promotion and had to pay $491. Upon reaching out to customer ********************** today, they stated the promotion ended 4/9/23 but no one notified me of this or I would have made adjustments to ensure that I was there to complete the process. My wife and I went to the Jackson-Hewitt ********** in Kyle *** ********************************************************* I called for an appointment *************), I was told to come in and as a first time customer, I was available for a 50% discount. When my wife and I went in on Monday, March 26, 2023, the preparer, ********************************** told us that because he was preparing a tax that included a business our discount was only going to be 30% off a $667.00 price that he quoted.We agreed to pay $467.90 for the tax preparation, which included the 30% discount.Today, April 6, I received a call from ****, representing Jackson-Hewitt, stating that our tax papers were ready for signatures and that the price was $667. When I reminded her that the tax preparer had informed us that there was a 30% discount, she said she knew nothing of that, and the price was $667 because it was a business preparation.
