I always file my taxes with Jackson Hewitt for years. I went to file in march 2023 and get the early advance and the lady who did the early advance never informed me that I wouldnt be receiving taxes. When you file Jackson Hewitt give the advance back to the provider. Now Im in the hole $1000 and I owe Jackson Hewitt for taxes I never filed.Business Response

I filed my 2020 taxes with Jackson Hewitt and was audited. Jackson Hewitt state that if they make a mistake they pay interest and penalties. They made a mistake on my taxes and it cost me $14,???.00 and $39??.00 in interest and penalties. its been over 3 months since they amended the taxes and I have gotten nothing from them. I filed my taxes with Jackson Hewitt in January with ***************** at the **************** location. He only submitted one w-2 and didnt submit the second one with it. He then said it would be an amended return but failed to submit it until March 29th we are now in august and still have not seen my amended return. I have been trying to call **** and he has blocked my number and hasnt given me any information. I checked the *** website and it says information not found. I need this resolved immediately! 2020 tax year I had the guaranteed warranty, the tax preparer said I did not owe any federal tax for that year, a few months ago I got a notice from the *** stating I owe ****** because my taxes wasnt filed correctly, Jackson Hewitts supervisor for ************ ** is refusing to take care of this situation, I would like to see some sort of outcome for this huge mistakeBusiness Response

We had our taxes dropped off in the ******* office to be filed before April 15th. They never finished and shipped our taxes to somewhere in ***********, we don't even know where they are. They guaranteed ** more money back and as new customers, half price service fees. We have called them multiple times and there office is only open selected times and days. I received one phone call back when I could not take a phone call and asked them to talk over my lunch break. NO ONE CONTACTED US SINCE. I think her name was *****. I am rejecting this response because:They told me they could not find my documents anywhere and asked for me to get new ones of everything. If they cannot find them, I don't even know where to start other than W2 information. Some of the things were irreplaceable. I'm also frustrated because our personal information is just missing somewhere and not kept confidential which is a breech in the law. No one has contacted me to tell me that documents were located to continue.

Two dates of transaction, first date was 4/12/2023 and 4/28/2023. On 4/12/2023 in the Jackson Hewitt tax office in **********, *****. I filed and paid Jackson Hewitt ***** on 4/12/2023 for IRS extension. Jackson Hewitt worker ********************* tax pro in the ********** tax office. She thought her VA benefits were taxable income. She pended the return requesting verification of VA benefits. VA benefits are not taxable income. On 4/28/2023 Jackson Hewitt in ********* ***** Regional Corporate Office contacted ***** to complete her **** 2022 Tax return. On 4/28/2023 Jackson Hewitt completed and supposedly transmitted her return to IRS. To this date she has not received her owed tax refund. When my sister (**************************) authorized representative contacted IRS on 7/10/2023 IRS explained they had not received 2022 Return Form for ************************ from Jackson Hewitt. ************************** (sister) has contacted Jackson Hewitt Corporate Office and has spoken with *********************** several times and she explained in June 2023 she would contact IRS and resolve the problem with ****** return. *********************** has been contacting their corporate office since May of 2023 inquiring about Marias income tax return.Business Response

I was recently (last month) notified by a monitoring service (not by/never by Jackson Hewitt) that my data was exposed--the source of the exposure is a Jackson Hewitt Data Breach. My phone number, SSN, address, etc., has been compromised. Given I used the company to file taxes several years ago, my info should have been purged, nonetheless; I should have been notified, given a refund, and offered long-term mitigation services.Business Response

When I had my taxes done in the Huron location, the accountant was ill prepared for her job. She as a credited accountant should have been able to do a very straight forward job easily. She struggled and called her boss 9 timesin 2.5 hrs time. other appointments I have had lasted maybe 45 min and were more complex.When they were done, they were wrong, I was overcharged because for every button she pushed when she didnt know what she was pushing I was over charged. I had them redone by someone else and he found that I had made $500 or so more than she found but I was charged over $300 more for the government. So I didnt feel his were correct. I begged for a month and never got ahold of a manager to fix these. He fixed them on tax day, so they didnt have to refund my money for doing it wrong. I brought them elsewhere and got money backchantel needs her license pulled!!! The manager which will get back to you in 24 hrs hasnt in months!Business Response

This is not one of our Franchise locations. This is not a matter we can address as it does not include our business or our employees. This is a location that is "corporate" operated and I believe to be managed out of somewhere in *********.
I can assure that OUR Staff goes through continous training, but i can also say that all employees learn at different pace and have various degrees of learning and experience and it is an INDUSTRY STANDARD that those that have lesser experience will seek guidance from the more experienced. And every individual client has a tax situation that varies from the next, and most are not near as 'simple' as the client thinks it is based on the laymans understanding.
I hope this complaintant has a better experience in the future and would be wiling to give other locations, or even the same location but with a different preparer, the opportunity to prove they can have a better experience.

I paid for the worry free thing and I told them the state of ** tax and revenue needed my irs transcript showing the federal tax return had been accepted so I called told the ******* office this I asked for transcript or how to get them and how do I get them to the state could I get fax number something why did I pay all this money for them to do all this for me when Im happening to do it myself I asked them for fax number they said its easier for you just to take them in in person well that would be great if I had a car why did i pay you for a job and your not doing the job I was told if i ever got audited they would do everything for me I would not have to worry about anything well this really makes me wonder because I cant get help with something this small if yall are not going to help me give me money back for the worry free tho thats not so worry free and Ill continue to do it myself they have done nothing to try and help me with this I dont know do I file an amended return or how can I get the transcripts to the stateBusiness Response

I originally made the appointment with Jackson Hewitt to have my deceased grandmother's final taxes filed based on the promotion you were advertising of 50% off all tax preparations. My appointment was on March 30th @ 11:00 at your **************** At the beginning of our meeting, I mentioned that I had my discount code: FCE7X, and asked if she needed it prior to ** beginning the taxes. She said, "No, as long as I had the code emailed to me, she would input it during the billing process". After 3.5 hours there in the office, she was having multiple issues with the tax program and needed to call the **** By the end of the meeting, it would not accept the e-signature not save it as a . PDF file. So after almost 4 hours, she told me she could not complete the filing, and that I would need to come back the following week. However, she asked for payment on our initial visit. This is where we have the problem. As she input the change for the tax filing she told me that "I did not qualify for the 50% off because it was an amended tax return for my grandmother, and it didn't qualify". She charged me $293.00 for a service that wasn't completed that day, and would ultimately require me to make 4 additional trips before she completed my file. Even more distressing, she should have told me at the beginning of our appointment that my discount would not be accepted! Each time she said she was having difficulties with the software or she needed to speak to the *** and needed me there while she called them. She was a very kind woman, but extremely unfamiliar with tax preparation, or your system. Whatever the issue was, I spent a total of 8 hours and 5 total trips to Jackson Hewitt to file my deceased grandmother's 2020 taxes with an income of only $18,000. Not a difficult tax file to prepare. Your promotion that originally brought me to make the appointment, says nothing about being a prior year's tax filing. It only says I had to be a new customer.Business Response
