      I recently inquired about renting an apartment through this property management company in *************, **. I was immediately asked how many people would be in the apartment. Unbeknownst to this company, I am a Realtor, myself. My family consists of me, my husband, and our three daughters, ages 7, 8, and 11. I tried to convey to the leasing specialist that she is breaking fair housing laws by trying to steer me into a 3-bedroom apartment based on occupancy size, which I can understand if the gender of my children were mixed. They are not! They are all girls.The manager of this company then reached out to me via text message, diving deeper into how her community circumvents fair housing laws by implementing illegal occupancy policies within their community guidelines.I would NEVER treat anyone looking for housing in such a way, especially a family. These people should be very cautious about how they speak with prospective residents in the future. I can't imagine how they treat current residents.

      **Review for Shaler Properties**I have been a resident with Shaler Properties for 10 years, and Ive witnessed various management changes over the years. Unfortunately, the current management under ****** from corporate is by far the worst Ive experienced. Her attitude is unprofessional and combative. Its clear she believes she can speak to people however she wants, and its incredibly disrespectful. From my perspective, this company seems to lack integrity, especially when it comes to handling civil complaints or showing any regard for their residents.Its a family-run business, and you can tell by their approach to service that they dont prioritize customer satisfaction. ****** couldnt even manage a simple situation with patience or understanding. Instead, she acted in a bossy, impatient manner that left me ************* addition, ******, the property manager, made a comment that they "get paid the big bucks" to not even speak to residents. That attitude is not only distasteful but incredibly disconnected from the reality of good customer service. Who do you think youre in business with if not the people you serve?Overall, Shaler Properties operates with a low level of professionalism and respect, and they are nowhere near the standard of a Fortune 500 company. They prioritize greed over relationships, and from a long-term resident perspective, I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for good service or fair treatment.

      Very frustrating experience since *** bought out our complex. They took away amenities that we have had for years, such as televisions in the gym and access to the game room. I have also had my apartment flood twice since their takeover and received no compensation despite living in horrific conditions. Staff hours have been cut back and there is a high turnover of staff. Employees that had been here for years and years are now gone. Ive also had workers enter my apartment very early in the morning with no notice, not in response to a maintenance request, But as a result of corporate sending them in to do a building repair without notifying me. Time I came out of the shower only to find third-party workers staring at me. The complex did not notify me that work was going to be done. It was embarrassing and horrifying.

      We have been living in GR Manor, and the management has been more than horrible. Since JCM Living took over, the beloved super of 25 years + left and we were heartbroken. We have been on Super #3 for the past eight months. There are smokers in this building, and after several complaints, JCM Living still has not addressed this issue. We have a loud neighbor who makes lots of noises in the early AM, and although I made many complaints, JCM Living just said, " We notified the tenant to be quiet." The garbage dumpster area has been filthy, and they are not large enough for 70-unit buildings. There is always garbage around and overflowing the dumpster, it smells and attracts rodents and insects. It is disgusting and when we have guests over, we are so embarrassed that they have to see these dumpsters and piled up garbage. The laundry machines are always broken, and we have had only a couple of dryers working, for at least a few months. The prepaid App and laundry machines often have a bad connection and you cannot use them. So much for technology. GR Manor's Manager has been changing faster than four seasons and we are currently on... How many? The current manager does not answer your calls, is horrible at scheduling, and does not have any regard for your time. They made it a "pet-friendly" building without any notice, and there is no regulation surrounding pet rules, so we have small barky dogs barking at us or seeing dogs pee everywhere on the premises. Disgusting. We heard from other tenants that they have been raising the rent without any notice until a few days before the lease is due. Therefore lots of people are forced to leave since they cannot pay 8% + up raise in rent.

      Embarrassed to call this my home. The staff is disrespectful, the buildings are old and things constantly break, and most importantly you have to call 3-5 times just for them to show up and fix things! Rent is way too high, and definitely not luxurious apartments. More like old and out dated!

      I live at the wesmont gardens in **** this place literally *****. They have the mosy absurd rules, you cant park a commercial vehicle in their parking lot. Another thing is that they always walk in the apartment, one time two maintenance guys walked in on me when I was naked and they literally yelled at me. Office people are the worst and is literally overpriced.

      If youre considering renting from this organization, consider again, I find their management to be very willy-nilly. They dont care they care about all they care about is getting the money from you. They dont do anything to help the tenants. Dont listen to your tenants needs and I would give them a zero or maybe a negative. The office here in the management couldnt even give me the corporate office number when I can look it up but they never quite said they didnt have it. Thats the way they do business so please causes yourself go read from someone else dont read from this organization.

      Shortly after JCM purchased my apartment complex things started to go downhill. Staff hours were cut, they took away amenities we had for decades (such as televisions in the gym, coffee stations, and our game room), and theres more garbage overflowing and litter than ever.It is sad to see my home deteriorate so quickly in this manner. I would not recommend a JCM property.

      This Company took over property management not even 2 Months and it has been awful. Threats and Rent Demands multiple times a day text phone calls emails although my account has a zero balance. Then just an apology for bothering you due to system error. Shortly after calls and e-mails text start again. Staff is very rude. Received a letter of intent to evict and a $100 late fee after two weeks of taking over the property. Even though Rent was pre paid month prior with no balance owed on the account. Now a month has passed and again same thing. Im disabled and have health issues this stress is making me in more pain. Its horrible unacceptable unprofessional. staff member Medal was rude and disrespectful I asked for his manager he then stated hes the supervisor and I could only speak to him. I told him I rent here over 3 years never late payment I owe nothing check account again. He tells me pay my rent now or be evicted for non payment. I said I need to speak to someone who is in charge I have my receipt I paid and have no balance. He then says oh I see you prepaid last month for this month okay no balance then hung up on me . I called back to complain and they say Im sorry hes new. Its a whole stressful team and honestly not renewing my lease this year with this management its chaos. I will not be bullied and threatened every month then a dry apology like nothing happened. No communication in the office and no accountability whatsoever. ***************** who pay on time never late is ridiculous. 5 of my good neighbors recently moved out same reason. I rather spend my money where I am respected.

      Horrible accounting. High management turnover. I had slug infestation that lasted on and ofc for two years. Ive had 3 property managers in 3 years. I constantly need something fixed but Ive also had 3 maintenance men since Ive lived here. People have walked into my home unannounced. I made a double payment due to their system and they will not return the additional funds. Absolutely a horrible place to deal with each time theres an issue. Its always the higher management and never the property manager. They dont put money into the apartments until things are falling apart.
