I contacted AWR a few weeks ago with a plumbing issue around the shower. They did not send anyone and charged me 50 dollars. I had to hire a plumber to fix the issue.Business Response

Since a month ago - American Water NJ has been systemically calling my and my wifes numbers with an auto dialer in the middle of the night to inform us about irregularities in our water taste and appearance. While I appreciate **** keeping us informed, would it be possible to request emails or calls during the day for all non-emergency calls instead of 23:28 on November 15, 21:37 on December 20, and at 21:43 last night - December 21.I have tried calling AMNJ during normal business hours to request for them to stop these nocturnal calls, only to be shuffled through their robotic automated messaging system and was hung up on three times during transferring - thereby wasting two more hours of my time. Apparently, AMNJs phone center is operating on overseas time where night is day.PLEASE STOP CALLING US IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ******** This is unacceptable!Business Response

*** contacted my elderly Aunt and Uncle to sell them an additional warranty. After checking with me, I advised them not to have a warranty. They called and spoke with a ***resentative and told her to not renew the warranty they had already paid for. *** did renew and charge their bank account for a full year. I spent over an hour on the phone trying to get a refund and it still is not resolved. Very unreliable ***************** I was a customer for years paying for their ********************/Sewer Line Protection Program for $9.99 a month and the ***************** Line Protection Program for $4.99 a month (Total for about $15 a month). Since October of 2024, *** automatically cancelled my plan and renewed it with a price increase ($14.99 for Water $6.47 for Electric. Total is now $21.46 a month). This is completely understandable being that the price of **************************** will always increase due to inflation.What's not understandable is that during the next billing cycle, AWR have charged me twice on both services (total of $42.92). I immediately contacted customer service but they were trying to assure me that *** has only charged me once for both services. I explained to them that I see in my bank statements that they're were two charges. The customer service *** suggested that I email them the screenshots of the bank statement. I did exactly that with no response from the email.After a month has passed, AWR did the same exact thing again. I was charged $42.92 for both services. No response from my email so I nudged the email thread. I was finally received a response from them saying "There was a mistake. You had two accounts. This will not happen again".I responded to the email thread asking if I was going to be reimbursed for the extra $42.92 that I paid for over the past 2 monthly bill charges. I believe that it is reasonable for me to ask for some kind of reimbursement since this appeared to be a mistake on ***'s end. I have not heard anything back since.Business Response

In February 2023 I signed up for outside sewer line and inhome plumbing coverage On November 22, 2024 A *** called me offering to upgrade this service to a higher coverage level to which I agreed. He said the upgrade would take affect on Dev *******.I spoke to them today and they said that I have no coverage at all until Dec 22, 2024 because the new contract voids the old contract. I was never explained that I would lose even the original coverage for the entire month and would not be able to make a claim if something were to happen.Clearly no normal person would agree to having no coverage for a month. Such a thing would never even come to mind.Representative named ****** that I spoke to on 12/12/2024 told me that in fact the agent that made the sale neglected to stress that I would lose coverage for a month.This is customer deceit and unethical business practice Representative ****** told me that in fact the agent that made the sale to me did not bother explaining this.Business Response

On November 22, 2024, Mr. ******** contacted *** to verify information on his account. During this call, the agent confirmed the details and enrolled him in additional programs that were offered.
Mr. ******** called back on December 12, 2024,to inquire about the waiting period for the newly added programs. As he did not receive the information he was seeking, he requested a callback from a supervisor. He was contacted the following day, provided with the requested information, and his enrollment in the heating and cooling programs was canceled per his request.

My billing issue started in June 2024. Was Paying about ***** a month for Sewer/water/plumbing contract. Wife got very sick end of May so I didn't look over bills that were auto payed. Been working with Water company and resources to rectify issue. Spent over 30 hours online and still not rectified. Current bill is ****** but ***** is a past due from aw resources. Looking over billing I have been grossly over billed since July with no notification of auto policy upgrade every year.on May 11th I paid ***** for sewer/water/in house plumbing.9/12/24 - Started being billed ***** for same service 11/11/24 - **** went up to over ***** for same service.After talking to quite a few agents they stated I should be only paying ***** for complete home coverage.Need this rectified asap ..... auto pay is draining bank account.Currently retired and living on set salary.*** **********Business Response

However, his next billing cycle showed charges for both the new and old pricing because the credits issued had not yet been applied. This process typically takes 1-2 billing cycles to reflect.
We have communicated with Mr. ******** to explain the course of action and ensure he is informed about the programs billing. We encourage Mr. ******** to reach out to us directly with any further concerns or questions.

i have been searching reviews of AWR an am so glad I did. I signed up a couple of years ago prior to checking the reviews but only for a short time. A deep search led me to never, ever sign up with AWR again. Bad ;customer service, Way too long wait time for service, approval, etc. these are emrgencies! Why arent't they teated as such?
