      I am a VERY DISSATISFIED AVIS (first time...AND LAST TIME) customer! I prepaid and picked up the rental at the Indianapolis Airport. I told the agent that I would probably be returning the car a day early (which I did) and THEY REFUSED TO REFUND ANY OF MY MONEY!! How can these SCAMMERS get away with RIPPING OFF THEIR CUSTOMERS, as a MATTER OF "POLICY??"

      THIS IS ROBBERY AND AS FAR AS I KNOW, THEIVES "GO TO JAIL!!!!!"

      I have a legitimate reason to receive a refund and I expect "AVIS" to make it right! I ALWAYS use *********** but they were sold out and I was forced to use a different provider.

      It is near impossible to get through to a customer service (if you can even call it "service") agent and when you do get someone on the line, their English is so BROKEN, good luck with understanding them and getting them to understand you!

      In regards to the aforementioned BBB complaint. Avis does not wish to deceive anyone we do our best to make sure that all pertinent information is made available to our renter's in a variety of places within our Avis.com website and within the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.

      Upon review we have found that Ms. ****** booked reservation # *********** online and was provided two pricing options, the first a standard pay at the counter rate, the second a discounted pay in advance (Pay Now) rate with specific agreed upon terms and conditions. The Pay Now rate was selected and the she agreed to the terms listed below, which states rental is picked up, but returned early, no refund will be issued.

      Therefore this information is available on the website at the time of booking, Avis has done its due diligence in attempting to clearly provide information regarding our rental terms and conditions . The responsibility falls on the renter to understand what they are agreeing to or should not proceed with the rental.

      TERMS & CONDITIONS
      IMPORTANT: Please read the following terms for your prepaid reservation carefully. Cancellation and No-Show charges may reduce refunds for prepaid reservations. Once the vehicle is rented there are no refunds or credits for unused rental days.
      Cancellation and Missed Reservation Policy Refund Amount
      Cancelling up to 24 hours prior to scheduled pickup time You will receive a refund of your prepaid amount, minus a $50.00 cancellation fee.
      Cancelling within 24 hours prior to the scheduled pickup time. You will receive a refund of your prepaid amount, minus a $150.00 cancellation fee. If your prepaid amount is less than $150.00 no refund will be issued.
      No show, or failure to pick-up your rental vehicle No refund will be issued.
      Rental is picked up, but returned early No refund will be issued.
      • At the time of rental, we require a hold amount of up to $300 USD for credit and debit cards.
      • Prepaid Debit/Gift cards are not acceptable methods of credit identification to pick up a vehicle at any location. Avis only accepts Prepaid Debit/Gift cards at time of return.
      • Upon returning the vehicle, Avis will process a release of the unused portion of the hold subject to your bank's procedure. This hold may take up to two weeks to be released by your bank.
      • If you have already paid towards your rental using a debit card, we will reverse any hold when the rental is over. The bank, however, may take time to post it back to your account. While this hold is in place, the funds will not be available for your use.
      I have read and accept the Prepay Policies and Rental Terms and Conditions , and understand that this rate is prepaid.

      I rented a car from budget 2 times recently. Spoke to AKA ******* over phone. I rented a car 5/26-5/30/2022 and again on 7/11-7/13/2022. In may I was doubled charged for car 270.48 showed on my statement twice. In July I was charged my agreed upon fee of 196.80. Turned car in after filling car up at gas station in walking distance from facility. I call customer service and they said they charged me additional 79.92 in gas charges. He requested me to look up address of gas station find a time and that way he can refund me my money in their error. I said less than 5 minutes at time it showed I turned car in. He told me to still look and that wasn't good enough. I found date on bank statements only. Lastly, all I will say about this 2 hour customer service call was that he told me next time to keep a copy of gas station receipt and odometer to ensure they are doing their job right. So basically saying this is my responsibility to ensure they are doing their job and not their mistake from not training employees correctly

      Upon reviewing the details of your Complaint, our records show you have already reached out to our Customer Service Team and resolved your concerns. The fuel charge of $81.46 was refunded to the **** card on file on 7/15/22. Please allow the credit to process to the account within 5-7 business days.

      Concerning the rental in May Rental Agreement: **********, it was discovered that the prepaid voucher of $270.48 was not applied towards the rental; therefore, you were billed in error. Customer Service has processed a refund for the unused voucher back to the payment method linked to the charge. Please allow the credit to post to the account within 5-7 business days.

      Thank you for allowing us to be of assistance to you. Accordingly, we are closing our case file.

      I reserved a vehicle around 10:30 am to be picked up at noon. I prepaid $330.00 for the rental and I received a call around 11:00, staying they didn't have any vehicles available. There was no apology and nothing stating that my money would be released back to my card. I call the rental company to get a customer service number and was given the run-a-round. The agent I spoke to told to redial the 800 number and ask for customer again. I finally reached another agent to be told it would take 3 to 5 days to get a refund. My biggest issue is taking my money before any service was provided and holding it. I didn't receive a vehicle nor did I sign an agreement.
