      I rented a car from Budget at PIE Airport in **********, **, and had a really frustrating experience. I reserved a **** Mach E, but when I arrived, they didnt have the vehicle I booked and downgraded me to a regular sedan. I asked to be refunded for the difference, but the employee at the desk said he couldnt do that instead, he offered to fill the tank for free when I returned the car and told me I could bring it back empty.I returned it with about half a tank, only to find out later that I was charged a $66 fuel surcharge plus a $30 **************** fee a charge I was never told about or agreed to. Ive tried calling the location multiple times to resolve the issue, but no one answers. When I contacted customer service, they told me they dont typically answer the phones there since its a very busy location.This is completely unacceptable. I was downgraded, overcharged, and ignored when trying to get help. I would absolutely not recommend this Budget location.

      Budget *************. Airport rented me a minivan picked up on 6.17.25 to be returned 6.21.25. The car, a 2025 Chrysler Pacifica, had electrical problems and would not start on 6.18.25. Roadside assistance had the vehicle towed but customer service was completely unable to locate a replacement vehicle that could accommodate the passengers and luggage that we booked a minivan to carry. Without any rental car or means of transportation on our vacation, Budget customer service would not even issue a refund or close the rental reservation agreement. Had to spend over 3 hours on the phone to gather this information from 5 different *****s, the first call being disconnected the first time after 40 min on the phone, the second ***** giving the silent treatment for over 2 min on the phone, the third erroneously "escalating" the case to a fourth ***** who erroneously and purposefully transferred the call to roadside knowing the I no longer had a vehicle and needed a customer service resolution, and finally being transferred from roadside assistance back to customer service for over an hour to hear I was only eligible for a partial refund which could not be issued until "the system" closed the rental agreement for a car I no longer had in my possession and would be unable to return at the end of the reserved time. This company is scary to do business with. Budget expresses NO accountability for renting a faulty vehicle in their fleet, remorse for time taken out of a vacation without having a car to get around in, willingness to rectify the situation, or ethics in direct communication with a customer.

      Completely fraudulent! Both times I have rented from them, they have charged a fuel service fee when returning the vehicle on a full tank!!

      I reserved a car from Budget that was supposed to be an intermediate size SUV 4WD. The reservation stated that it would be a ******* Tucson 4WD or similar vehicle. The vehicle they gave us was a ******* Kona FWD, which is listed as a subcompact SUV. The Kona has almost 50 cu ft less of space than the ******. I filed a complaint with Budget, but the response I got was that I reserved an intermediate size SUV and that is what I got.

      This is the worst place to rent a car. They have no customer parking. They do not allow guest cars on their lot. How are you supposed to get to the building? They make you park on the side of the outer road and walk quite a way to get to the building. What if there's inclement weather , elderly, or need accessible assistance? There are no clear directions. There's only a shuttle if you're staying at a hotel. They don't even provide a go cart or something to transport customers and their luggage to the building. Someone could get hit by a car. This is truly hazardous and could end up in law suits, if it hasn't already.

      I made prepaid online reservations three weeks in advance for a van. The day of the rental I received a call that they do not have a van for rent. The online computer reservation system has little in common with what is actually going to happen at the local location. **************** was no help in finding me a van. I requested the cancel my reservation and refund my money. Maybe they will. There is no accountability for Budget failing to uphold their end of the reservation, but if you fail to show or cancel the with in 24 hrs prior, they will charge you a $150 fee.

      Want to know what annoys me Budget Car Rental? Being lied to by your company after receiving a rental we waited 2 hours for only to find it full of trash and vomit! After calling and speaking to a manager, we were promised a guaranteed 50% discount and told she would try for 75%. To our surprise, when we dropped off the car we found that not only was there no discount, but also a late fee added when we provided our flight info in the reservation and were actually early dropping off. Called multiple times and have been hung up on, told nothing can be done and refused escalation. Will NEVER use your company again and will make sure all I know are how you treat customers

      I rented a vehicle from Budget at the ******************** over Memorial Day weekend. From the start, the experience was disorganized and dangerous.First, I had to wait over two hours to receive the vehicle due to poor project management following a garage fire. This was a known issue for over a week, yet the company failed to prepare or put in place a functional system to manage holiday weekend traffic.More importantly, the vehicle I was given was unsafe and in unacceptable condition. It had:Two completely bald tires that made the car shake and handle poorly at highway speeds.An overdue oil change by ***** miles, based on the maintenance sticker (last serviced at ****** miles, returned at over ****** miles).No windshield washer fluid and a filthy interior, showing a complete lack of inspection or care between rentals.I contacted Budget immediately afterward. They issued a refund but failed to address or acknowledge any of the safety violations. Their response only referenced the washer fluid. This demonstrates a disturbing disregard for customer safety and public roadworthiness.I would like Budget to acknowledge the seriousness of this issue, confirm the vehicle has been pulled from circulation and properly inspected, and implement better safety protocols at the ******************** location. I also want assurance that their fleet is being maintained to safe, legal standards.While I appreciate the refund, this is about much more than compensation. Its about public safety, accountability, and trust.

      As a loyal customer I was very disappointed when I attempted to pick up my prepaid rental car and was denied due to a verification issue with their system. I was denied that rental and there was no accommodation for my free day coupon I lost out on. The only thing I was offered was to pay for another rental. I was very disappointed and saddened that as a loyal customer they did nothing to assist me except offer me to pay MORE money. I will not be back and I caution anyone else that uses budget to know they do not care about their customers only money.

      I rented a car from Budget Rent a Car in ********** on 21.04.2025. The agent told me that insurance would cost $9.95 per day, which I agreed to. However, he added additional insurance coverage totaling over $1,000 without my clear consent. He explained that the amount would be temporarily blocked and then refunded after the car was returned.After the rental ended, the amount was not refunded it was fully charged to my card. I contacted Budget and was told I had signed for these charges. However, I was misled by the agent, and I did not knowingly agree to these services.I request a full refund of the unauthorized charges.
