I have a problem with the shingles on a Roof that were manufactured by GAF. It is a Timberland, Lifetime Roof. The clam number is ********, it was installed by a company in ******* ****** called Diversified Roofing. I called this company and they came out and agreed the shingles were defective and said that I would have to file a claim directly with GAF. I did this and have been getting nothing but the run around from *****************. First I need to prove that I own the house with the roof so I sent in property tax receipts. Then photos of the roof, I send in over 20 taken by two roofing companies. Then they asked for either a building permit or a certificate of occupancy (no one including my builder, the *** or the tax office has ever hear of this). I finally got the the builder the send me a building permit as they asked for and forwarded it to ***. Now they want a ****************************** for the approval of the construction of your house. This company just doesnt want to stand behind there product and just keeps asking for a laundry list of document. Hopefully you can be of help before this is turned over to attorneys and could possibility become a class action lawsuit.

Run Forest, run! Seriously. Not just from the elite rated roofing companies but GAF ***************as well. BE AWARE: You pick out the color you want but you won't necessarily receive the color you picked from the sample board or an actual shingle sample. GAF *************** advised they have no control over ***********. I could receive a light, medium and dark in the charcoal color. Who wants a patchwork quilt for a roof?!There is no true and "consistent" dye lot. No assistance if this happens except a restocking fee to reorder. Also, the contract states customer cannot be a part of any class action lawsuit. Big surprise!! Just ****** "GAF lawsuits!!!!!"Too many GAF issues aren't known until the salesman gets your signature on the contract. Then, the roofing company does not care about you and certainly, GAF never will.

Horrible experience with GAF warranty. They play the old insurance company game.keep rejecting claim in hopes you will just give up and go away! Heck of a way for a large company such as GAF to conduct business. Would NOT recommend using GAF for this reason. Go with ***** Corning instead. GAF warranty department kept insisting shingle issue was installation related (high nailing). Four independent unrelated professional roofing contractors near me examined the damaged/faulty shingles and every single one of them said shingles were nailed correctly, along identified nailing strip. GAF would not change their position and denied my claim for $490 (the cost to repair roof). Shameful action on their part. Very dissatisfied with GAF!!

As others have said they dont honor their warranty. Had a master elite roofer install a new roof, hes a piece of ****, did a shoddy job and GAF could care less. Its been 11 months , roofer been out 3 times , hacked up the roof more than it was, replaced 10 square out of 37, flipped over shingles used for starter, missing ice and water, GAF now ignoring calls and emails. They could care less. Roofer is completely incompetent, yet they still give him master elite status, its disgusting. DO NOT Trust this company,

I installed a new roof 1 month ago there was an obvious dye lot issue. The burden was mine to prove, after removing and sending samples from the roof and replacing the sample shingles with new shingles, taking drone footage along with multiple photos as well as sending my tax bill to prove I owned the property I've been waiting four weeks with no response other than the online portal saying "awaiting lab results. I'm totally at the mercy of some GAF rep who will not call me. They also refuse to come to the building site and look at the building with their roof on it. Do not use GAF shingles

I am glad I am not the only one that feels this way. I had GAF shingles installed on my roof, which were supposedly an upgrade from the previous shingles, and had a longer warranty. I never paid attention to my roof after that until my neighbor told me that my roof looked horrible. It has been about 12 years since I had the roof installed. On closer examination I saw that the shingles were worn out and you could see the white material along the edges of the shingles. Some of the shingles showed quite a bit of the white material around the edges. They were clearly worn out. I contacted the installer of the roof, who came and looked at it and said it was all hail damage. I asked him why my neighbor's roof had no hail damage even though it was 25 years old, but my roof was severely damaged when it was only 12 years old. The installer took no responsibility for using a sub standard product, and said he had no idea. I find it hard to believe that the hail fell on my house and not on my neighbors house. And it fell on my house with such remarkable accuracy that it hit only the edges of the shingles. Another roof installer after getting on my roof told me that the shingles were just getting pulverized just by walking on them. I would advice anyone to think twice before you use this GAF 3D Timberline thick upgraded shingles.
