An absolute scam. DO NOT TAKE THE AT HOME TEST. I was scheduled to take the at-home Praxis for a certification requirement for my job. After getting my computer ready, going through all those hoops to get the ram usage correct, and then day of testing making sure my apartment was absolutely cheat free (even covering my television with a blanket, and taking off my glasses to show the insides of them) I was finally able to start the test. After about 20 questions, the test locked and said that there was a "security breach". To which point I contacted my *******, and he said there is nothing that he could do and I would need to contact ETS to discuss next options. I called them that day, waited 1 hour on hold, and finally reached somebody. The customer ********************** representative was no help at all, saying he needs the ******* notes, which take 3-5 days, and stating that he cannot promise me that I wouldn't have to pay the 150 dollars, or that he could waive the 28 day re-take window. FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT MY FAULT. He then told me that if I did not hear back in three days, I need to reach out. Three days came and went so I reached out to ETS again, and explained the situation for the third time. The representative said that the ******* notes finally came in, and that she would transfer me to the correct department. I wait AGAIN for 1 hour after transferring me, and now this representative states that my test is under "Administrative Review" and will take 2-4 weeks to sort out. I asked to speak to a supervisor, to which the representative said that he is "away from his desk, but you can leave a voicemail". I have been passed along, without any answers, several times now, and have basically come to the conclusion that I have been scammed. Everything everyone is saying about this company is true. Ridiculous that we as educators need this to do our job, when it's impossible to work with this company. Do better.

Working with this company has been a terrible and traumatizing experience. Thier customer **********************, if it can be called that, is slow and not terribly helpful. I was scheduled for 2 online tests. The first one happened as follows, this is the complaint that I sent:1. This was the worst testing experience I have had in my entire life. I cried for over 30 minutes trying to get logged in. It was a humiliating experience and it was just terrible. I cried through the first part of my test I was so upset.2. The test glitched multiple times. I couldn't even see the screen where I was supposed to type my essay answers.3. I have no idea if it was scored. My friend said she got immediate scores on the multiple choice, I didn't, so now I'm wondering if I just wasted time and money on this test because it was so glitched. I have no idea.4. Why would you ask me if I wanted to keep or delete my scores without showing me what they are? That makes no sense at all so if they're bad they're being sent to my school even though I have no idea what they are.5. Just in case you missed it this was the worst testing experience of my entire life. I have just completed my Master's Degree in education so honestly, that's saying a whole lot.6. During the test log in process it made me reset my password TWICE. Nothing would download correctly. I couldn't get logged in. I don't use those browsers that were needed for the test at all.7. A day before the test (or more) you should send out a note saying "click this to download everything you need for the test." Logging in an hour early WAS NOT ENOUGH given all the technical issues.8. Did I mention I was crying big audacious tears because of how terrible this experience was and of course because I wasn't allowed to leave my testing area to get kleenex I wiped my snot on my shirt since I wasn't allowed to move. The next test I couldn't get logged in. They had me reschedule live and then cancelled it. They refuse a refund, only 50%. WORST.

Terrible business. It's impossible to get in contact with their Office of Testing Integrity team. They don't respond to emails or calls. I sent a dozen emails and called more than 10 times but I couldn't get a proper response.

this company needs to better train their staff. I have been given misinformation from different agents on multiple occasions. Additionally, this company provides fee waivers for those in need but if you need to reschedule your test with them (even weeks or months in advance) they have a callus disregard for those who are in financial need and have no way to lessen the burden of those who they have already determined to be in financial need. If I wasnt requested to take the test through them I wouldnt as they are are only out to get as much money as they can without providing accurate information to their customers or having any kind of system to help those who are in financial need. They are making me pay $40 to reschedule my test or make me take a half day at my relatively new job because they forced me into scheduling my test in August when I had no idea what my schedule would be like. I would never recommend those company to anyone.

The in-person testing locations for the GRE are far from my home, so I paid to take the at-home test. Except I never took it because my exam got terminated "due to security reasons" before I even finished the check-in with my *******. Now I either need to pay for the test AGAIN or wait even longer to see if I qualify for a refund/ reschedule. Complete unprofessionalism! It's been 4 weeks and no matter how much I call and email, no one is giving me an answer regarding a decision. I don't know where to reschedule, or wait, or pay again (which I don't really have the money to do in the first place). My ******* said everything was up to code in my room, yet I can't help but feel like I'm being accused of cheating. My deadlines for applications are drawing near, and I can't get this dumb exam at least started! I don't understand why this needs to be so stressful for the students taking a mandatory exam.

I took my Praxis exam at home on July 22, 2022. I took all 3 tests together because that is what I could afford. I had extra time after finishing math and reading and took a bathroom break. Now it is August 26, 2022 and they are still withholding my scores "to investigate things that *** have occurred during my exam." The time I called before this they said "your scores are being reviewed by an analyst and you should receive an email with your scores within a few days." This is unprofessional on their part and extremely upsetting for test takers who did nothing wrong and need their test scores to apply for PCE and are under a deadline to have things submitted.

I chose to take a Praxis test at home. I have a new computer and it passed all of the pretest requirements. After downloading the testing browser, a message stated that ******* U was locked out of my exam. They they instructed me to call ETS and reschedule. ETS said that I would have to pay again to reschedule my exam even though there was no problem with my computer system. PLEASE do not choose to take your test at home. If this happened to me then I am sure it has happened to many others and is clearly something they are offering to force people to pay for multiple tests. I would strongly encourage the BBB to look into ETS and ******* U to find out how many people they have taken advantage of in this way. ETS needs to stop offering at-home testing as an option since it does not work.

Had an issue day of trying to take an at-home test, my personal laptop was not working. Tried using a work one but it could not use the software. Tried calling them and they already had their offices closed, because they only have East Coast offices and hours. Emailed them then called the next day, they absolutely refused to help reschedule, essentially blaming me for the problem despite it being day-of and they not being able to assist me. Told me I have to pay them $150 again just for the opportunity to take this test.ETS and PRAXIS tests are basically a giant scam, very inflexible and charge absurd amounts. The fact it costs $40 to simply reschedule, and if I wanted to cancel I'd only get half of what I paid, should be proof enough that this company is trying to nickel and dime people.

Due to Covid, the ETS PRAXIS service started offering at-home tests if the right equipment and connection were available. I lived in a very rural area of ******, so taking the test at my school was a brilliant option rather than fly to a city where there was a testing centre. I signed up and then attempted to download the third party software to make sure it was up and running a month before my test, as I had had issues with Internet and hardware with other tests I'd taken in my rural area. The software wouldn't download, even though the diagnostic said the connection was strong and the equipment was functioning properly. I called ETS PRAXIS and they told me to contact ******* U, the third party company for assistance. I did. The rep for ******* U said that I would not be able to download the software until the day of the test, so I took their word that the issue would not be an issue as they assured me everything would be fine. Day of the test, the software still didn't download. PRAXIS has no representatives on the weekend, but the rep at ******* U told me there was nothing they could do if the software didn't download. I contacted PRAXIS the following Monday and received an email back that said it was my fault, even though I had attempted to make sure way before the day of the test my stuff would work. PRAXIS has a rule that you need to reschedule three days prior to the test, but ******* U told me I couldn't even make sure the software was going to work until the day of the test. When PRAXIS refused to work with me, I contacted my bank and they agreed with me that the situation was without integrity. So they charged back the fee to PRAXIS. PRAXIS then sent me a **** with a charge back fee in the total of 190$. I sent a letter to their complaints department that I am not paying because it is their issue, I have reference numbers for all the contact I had with them regarding this issue, and that I will not be taking a test I need.

I was all prepared for my social studies Praxis, trying to log in, and didn't know that there would be issues using my work provided computer. I don't even know what a firewall is and wouldn't have ever figured there would be a problem. They don't tell you what you'll need to get permission to allow. After trying to email (form wouldn't submit) and "talk" to their bot-thing, I have been in tears for two hours, mostly over the waste of money and the fact I won't be able to teach a subject I am more than able to do. I also finally gave up after being on hold for over 30 minutes.
