I bought Miele Dishwasher approximately 5-6 years ago and shortly after the 5 year extended warranty expired the unit broke with code F78. After store technician evaluated it, the cost with labor to replace the part was about half of the new unit and I was advised that it might be better to buy a new unit. I understand that dishwashers should last ***** years. After thinking about it, I decided to buy a new Miele Dishwasher. It was delivered and worked for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks the unit stopped working. I did not have a power outage or any other issues. The technician came out today and said that he is not sure why it is not working, except that it is not getting any power to the machine. He is going to order all new electronic. I was without a functioning dishwasher for 1 week and it will take another 1-2 weeks for the parts to arrive and for the tech to come out to replace them. Since we don't know what the exact issue it, there is a chance that it will still not fix this unit and I was advised that I will have to talk to Quality Control after that to see what my options are if the unit is not repairable and if it needs to be replaced. No timeframe of how long this whole process takes. While I am without a working dishwasher for the holidays while I'm hosting people at my home. There was no urgency from Miele in trying to repair or replace this new unit and I felt that customer service, although nice, was of no help. They also could not connect me to a supervisor, since one was not available. I feel that there might a quality control issue with now two units breaking in significantly less time then expected, with the latest new unit breaking within 30 days of purchase.Business Response

Miele was called to my home to check on a dishwasher.Before agreeing to the service call I inquired if the motor replacement was available.The dishwasher was 18 years of age.******* was here less than 5 minutes, declared a motor problem and informed the motor replacement is not available.I discovered the charge invoice was signed by *******. ****************** complaint stated that he spoke to Miele prior to scheduling his appointment. I have been unable to find any record of a call to Miele from ***************
************** scheduled his own via our website without assistance from Miele. Payment was made on after the service call was completed in the consumer's home. ************** presented a credit card to ************** and payment was processed.
The consumer was informed of this information during our Sept 28th, 2023 phone conversation. This phone conversation was made to discuss his prior BBB complaint for the same matter.

I am a long time customer of ********************** and have purchased 2 refrigerators, 2 freezers, 2 wine fridges, dishwashers (as well as oven *********) from Miele over the last two years alone totaling over $70,000. One of the wine fridges I purchased in January of 2022 ceased working three months ago. Their repair team has been out to see the cooler five times unsuccessfully. Every time they leave, it takes three weeks to get them to show up again. On top of ruining over $10,000 of wine, I have never experienced such incompetence and a complete lack of customer service.Customers buy this product for reliability and a wine fridge should not last a year. Given the cost of wine, customers need to have the confidence that this cant happen. Further, to spend months without the fridge being fixed is unconscionable. This product is positioned as a premier brand where not only this sort of unreliability doesnt happen but when it does, they take care of your customers. Here, Miele has failed on all fronts. The service information is: Service Order *********** - [Miele Ref:815211755]Given I have made almost a dozen calls to the company, I am at my limit and am reaching out to you as, presumably, someone at Miele should care about the brand. I would like to understand from them how this could happen and how they can remedy this situation including fixing the wine fridge and the wine Miele has ruined. I have purchased electric over about 1 month ago. The oven stopped working. Reached out to Miele, required a replacement. They refuse to replace clearly broken item. I asked to talk to manager, nobody called me. They tell me that repair person needs to come for evaluation. I am not looking for repair, i am looking for replacement. They refuse. They tried to arrange for repair person to come to my house, but the company refused to come during hours that I am available. I called once again to speak with manager and nobody call me yet. Terrible service! I need electric oven replaced ASAP. Due to this issue could not hold thanksgiving dinner in my house.Business Response

Miele does not have sufficient repair contractors in the ********/ ********, DC area., despite they have a Miele Customer Experience Store in **************. The limited amounts of factory certified repair company's, who are Miele Certified are UNABLE to provide service in a timely fashion. Their service times are MONTHS out. For these valid reasons, I DO NOT recommend anyone purchase a Miele brand Refrigerator/Freezer combo, period!Business Response

This consumer contacted Miele on 11/9 @4:39pm and requested out of warranty service on her refrigerator/freezer. This request was immediately dispatched to a local servicer 16 miles away from this consumer.On 11/10 at 12:35pm we received notification from a technician on site that the appliance was currently being serviced. This consumer received service less than 24 hour after initial call to Miele.

I purchased a Miele ************************* 6/21. Since then the unit had to serviced 6 times with the same issue. The unit is obviously a lemon. Given that the purchase price is almost 4k this is unacceptable.Initial Complaint

hi,
i purchased a dishwasher in august of 21. and i haven't had a clean load from the first day . it also smells very badly all the time. I contacted Miele within the first three months to which they responded that its totally normal to have avocado left over on the plates. I have had two other Miele dishwashers in the past and had never had such an experience. besides for that all my friends and family told me they dont have such problems. we tried trouble shooting by ourselves but with no succeess . i already promised never to purchase a miele product again but the appliance store told me to try this option of writing to you before making this decision . i sincerely hope you can help me . looking forward to hearing from you soon

We have been trying to get our vacuum sealer drawer fixed for the past two plus months. We have not been successful. Two months ago, we called and got a service order # *********. We have called all your representative's/dispatchs recommended repair vendors with no success. All of the vendors we called labeled your vacuum sealer drawer a "small appliance" and will not repair it. We even called local appliance repair vendors with no success. Last Month we called and asked for a supervisor to call us. She called us and could not provide a resolution and promised to call us back with a resolution. She did not call back. FORMAL COMPLAINT # ********* filed on 21 SEP 23 with ****. No one has called us back in reference to the Formal Complaint. Our understanding of your Standard Operating Procedures is that supervisor would call within ***** hours of the Formal complaint. That has not happened. We called today, 27 SEP to find out the status of our Formal Complaint. ********* said the Formal complaint was about to be closed and the recommendation was to call suggested vendors. Since we have been down this road once, we do not see this as a viable resolution. If you were the customer, I do not think you would either. This vacuum sealer drawer is only 4.5-5 years old. We just want it fixed. We use this appliance on a regular basis. It is a very convenient appliance that keeps food in our freezers for extended periods of time. We had a repair person come to our house from ********** to fix our Miele Oven door. Why cant your office arrange something similar for our vacuum sealer drawer since no local vendors will repair your product? Please do the right thing for your customer.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Miele should be held accountable for their product. just because the appliance is not under warranty does not dismiss their inability to service their product. My wife and I have called numerous appliance repair companies, to include the ones Miele said "will service Miele appliances". They will not service the Miele vacuum sealer drawer, saying it is either a "small appliance" or they do not work with Miele any longer. My wife and I have even said we would pay for a service person "out of our area" to come fix their product. This option has not been exercised by Miele. If Miele can not service their products, they should not be available to customers. now, we are left with an appliance in our kitchen island that does not work. This type of customer service should be published.

Order number ******, ordered parts and it did not work. We have communicated with ************** regarding the return of his used part. It was explained to ************** that a used part is not eligible for return. Out of a courtesy ************** was offered a refund and was asked to dispose of the part ordered.

I called Miele Customer Support, ***************************, because my coffee maker grinder stopped working. She told me how to find the part I needed online. I asked if I could return the item if it didn't fix the problem. She said "Yes", you have 15 days to do so. So I went ahead and purchased the grinder. It didn't fix the problem, so I called the support line again, the first day I received it, the customer agent, ****, in **********, asked me if I had used the product, I said, yes, but it didn't work. She told me I could not return it and would not give me the ** number needed. I asked to speak to manager and she said, no one was available right now, and someone would be getting back to me in 72 hours. The coffee grinder is $332, I used it once and it did not work. More importantly, the first agent I spoke with did not disclose the full return policy. BUYER BEWARE.Business Response
