If a DEALER offers you ******** as a CHOICE? Run! They are awful! I was with ************* for 12 years! I have a FICO of 820! Conicelli *****,PA BULLIED me from ***** Leasing to **** They get a kickback. It was maybe $10.00 cheaper per month. You hand end your lease? They will take you to the cleaners! A ponazi scheme! *** doesn't even give you a wear tear allowance! ****! I would not do business with *** disgusting Pirates if my life depended on it! Just asshats out for a buck! They are Disgusting and Reprehensible.

This 2022 *************, has not yet been turned into ***. There are 5 months remaining on the lease. There is a $500 damage waiver and over 80% of vehicles come in with no damage assessment. Not even a discussion between this customer and *** since January 3, 2024.

No stars for this company. I turned in a lease vehicle to the dealer, never late on a payment. Just under ***** miles of the 30000/3yr contract. They are trying to charge me ******* for a number that has faded and a quarter size rust spot on another bumper

Thank you for being a good customer and remitting your payments on time. Unfortunately, the excess wear and damage found on the truck are outside of the standards allowed by the terms of the lease agreement. Over 80% of the vehicles returned at the end of the lease are found to be under the damage waiver, resulting in no charge for damage at lease end. As Lessee, there is a duty to maintain the vehicle. The fading paint on the bumpers of this vehicle may have been an issued covered by the manufacturer warranty, had you addressed the issue when the fading appeared. *** does not know the circumstances may have caused the fading or rust, however the cost to restore the vehicle is over the allowed damage waiver, which results in the assessment.

First of all IMPOSSIBLE to get someone to answer the phone, at ************. I leased my 2023 ******* Kona through Cal Automotive in June of 2023 for $365.00 a month, it is now 01/28/2025 and the purchase price at that time was, $25.790, Now I wish to purchase the car after paying $6,935.00 in payments over 18 months of payments. Today 01/28/2025 they want $26,213.82 as a pay off. Is this legal? Can they do such a thing? Cal Automotive wants more for the Kona after 18 months of use, than they did when the car was new???

I apologize that you were not able to speak with someone at CAL Automotive about your account. Our office hours are 9-5, Monday -Friday. The phones are fully staffed during these hours. The buyout quote that was requested was for a 3rd party dealership, who would be buying the vehicle at a market cost. The buyout for the Lessee would be based on the terms of the Lease Agreement, which is less than the market price.

I would never recommend to anyone to use CAL automotive for leasing. The buyouts are ridiculous and different amounts based on how you are ending your lease. The car buying/leasing process is stressful enough but any dealer that would subject a customer to **********************'s policies should not be in business just for a sale. I obviously knew I'd be over miles, however, my cost to purchase my car shouldn't be more than turning it into the dealer and paying the overage. I'm so disappointed that a car dealer that I've been loyal to and also recommended other people go to, would do business with CAL automotive. I won't use the dealer ever again and will discourage anyone from using CAL automotive.

These company is the worst. I never in the years of leasing or buying cars heard that tour pay off is more than what you paid for the car MSRP $33000.00 + and after making 20 payments the pay off is over $390000.00 and on top of that the customer service is very poor and unprofessional. I ask for a copy of my contract let's see if they send it. The Lady said it was in my contract. They don't want you to get out of the contract, so they make all the money, so they come out with unheard penalties. My son is an auto broker already knows not to send any of his clients to these company..

Thank you for your comment. The terms of the lease, including the monthly payment amount and residual value are set and agreed to at the dealership, prior to CAL funding the transaction.

OUCH!! It's certainly not a unknown about the outrageous fees charged for knit-picking light scrathes that won't [that they say] can't be buffed. If you're gonna go with C.A.L, makesure your WILL buy the car back. [A dealer can't...they purposely charge them too much to trade. Plus...if you need 1-3 [at most] additional months: That'll be a $500 fee..ON TOP of your monthly payment (plus tax, of course..which IS right) even if it's for one more month. So, say your pmt is $300/mo. That extra month will cost you $800. If you ever need to lease a vehicle, pay the extra $$ to go with the manufacturer's **************************** Mtr, GMAC, etc] lease. THIS is WHY C.A.L charges so much on turn-in, which for a car that seems very good, could cost you $4500 after they get it back. They don't accept you bringing it to a place for inspection. It's MEANT to be a surprise, albeit not a happy one. The dealer who gives you a CAL lease, won' t tell you any of this. So, any "great deal" the dealer gives you with a lower lease rate by putting you with CAL, is NOT a great deal, but a bad one. [And from previous customers....believe me.....dealers KNOW that already. But at times, customers force their hand by demanding a better deal, or they'll walk out. So, since they are a business, and don't want you to "walk", they'll acquesc to give you a better deal, so you won't leave and go to another dealer who would put you thru CAL. to have you. You just simply have to pay MUCH more money at the end, which you will find out only AFTER they get the car back. EVEN if you take pictures. Always ASK about WHICH lease *** the dealer is putting you with. Unless you know already it's a manufacturer's bank, as in GMAC, *********** Mtr Credit, etc you're going into. But....MAKE SURE the "good" deal you got, isn't with CAL Leasing. Manuf. Banks won't hurt you because they want you back. CAL will get you..in the "end".......quite litterally, if you know what I mean. WORD!!!!

Thank you for giving CAL the opportunity to respond. Year to date the percentage of vehicles being returned with damage is at 13%; that means 87% of vehicles have been returned with no damage charge. The best opportunity for a Lessee to avoid damage charges at the end of the lease is to review the vehicle while it's still in your possession, you don't need CAL to inspect the vehicle to tell you if there is damage. Carefully, look over the vehicle and if you see any damage to the vehicle; have it repaired by a reputable body shop.

I was in communication with them while my father in law was in the hospital called them twice regarding threatening text messages a woman named ****** was sending threatening text messages and requesting his banking info through text on their personal phone. I told them we will set up automatic payments and that they will email me the information to properly set up an account I never received it. 2 days later they took the car back. Im more bothered that a leasing company is requesting banking information on their personal phones from customers. Completely unsafe and unprofessional.

With all new relationships communication is essential. This account began on April 22 of this year. All monthly payments received since inception were more than 30 days past due. Customer was made aware of the payment default in June; yet in November the payment issues remained unresolved.CAL was told in June customer was in the hospital; there was no indication that he would remain in the hospital for an extended period; or that he would be unable to fulfil the terms of the Lease Agreement going forward.CALs attempts to get payment account information was to assist in correcting the default as effectively as possible. On receipt of the text message, the family contacted *** to complain rather than offer explanation or resolution. While it is understandable the family would not want to give bank information in a text message; the point of an aggressive message is to prompt a call back. Numerous messages send prior to this one, that were not aggressive, went unanswered and ignored. Had there been open communication from the customer about his circumstances a different tone would have been taken and possibly other avenues of resolution could have been addressed. Unfortunately, failure to communicate caused the issues to escalate to levels necessary to generate a response.
