I purchased an order for a Shark Robot vacuum cleaner for store pick-up. I received an email stating that the item was not available for store pick-up and they will ship the item with "shipping on them" since it was not available (shipping is free on any $39 order, so that's a joke). I did not want the item shipped to my home and wanted it shipped to my work address. I should have been contacted about the item not being available instead of the item being automatically shipped. I tried calling customer service; after 5 minutes of going through the automated teller I was put through but the wait time would be 37 minutes. I hung up and tried to do the chat online instead. The message was that it would be a 25 minute wait time. After waiting almost an hour, another message said it would be another 5 minutes and did I still want to wait. I said "yes" but after another 25 minutes i closed the window. This is ridiculous!!Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. (Bankrupt)

Although rare, in the case that an item is not available for in store pickup, we will do our best to fulfill the order with standard shipping to the customer's home. I woke up this morning to several emails from other companies ******************** and bitcoin) saying that someone had tried to access my accounts and personal information. They both assured me my accounts were safe to alleviate my fears. Then I received an email from Bed Bath and Beyond in which the subject line read: Thank You for Your Purchase, Thanks for shopping with us!There were no purchase details in the body of the email - only marketing nonsense I would see in a confirmation email AFTER making a purchase. BUT I hadnt made a purchase at Bed Bath and Beyond in over a month. I assumed someone got into my account, made a purchase or multiple on my card, and had the details rerouted to their email. I checked my bank and nothing had posted. I called Bed Bath and Beyond and after an hour they could find no purchases made from within my account, but couldnt account for the bizarre email I received thanking me. I was eventually routed to a supervisor who also checked. I forwarded her the email in question (this is now hour 2) and she said she had received this email herself in the past - AS A WAY TO SHOCK THE PERSON INTO MAKING ANOTHER PURCHASE!!! SO, while other companies are trying to keep their customers assured and alleviate concerns about personal identity theft - Bed Bath and Beyond IS USING THEM AS A MARKETING GIMIC! This is now hour 3 of my time. Id like to know what idiot in marketing and what kind of corporation thought it beneficial to terrorize their customers? According to Bed Bath customer service there is no email address to reach anyone and the only thing they can do is add another feedback form to the pile. This is COMPLETELY unacceptable in terms of responsible marketing, consideration for your customers and MY TIME AND WORRY! I still dont know 100% that my account hasnt been corrupted and I have multiple calls into my bank - ON A SUNDAY!!!!!!! SHAME ON YOU BED BATH AND BEYOND. Hello and thank you for sharing this review with us. We sincerely apologize for any confusion caused by our promotional emails. On reviewing the email that was forwarded to our customer service team, we have found the subject states, "Thank you for your purchase! Find more that everyone will love". This is in reference to the customer's previous purchases with us, and appears to be a relatively standard marketing email similar to other retail companies. Our customer service representative was able to correctly identify this and confirmed this information on the original call with the customer. We do appreciate this feedback and we'll be sure to evaluate for any opportunity to better serve our guests in going forward.Sam B

The response is not just dismissive, but clearly ignores the issues stated in the original review! This is NOT by any means a standard marketing letter when thank you for your purchase is sent a month later!! I contacted a marketing department in a graduate program to find out for sure yesterday and actually NOTHING ABOUT IT IS ACCEPTABLE AS STANDARD BUSINESS PRACTICE. And you know what the ad said because I attached the screenshot! Seriously? Further - the initial representative had no idea, hence the account review. That you would freely use anxiety as a manipulative tactic when you could have thanked me for my purchase a month earlier; is despicable. That you somehow feel that this is acceptable behavior to use anxiety and manipulation in a world where identity theft is rampant makes me question your humanity. Thank you for your purchase a month later is SHAMEFUL, not standard and your response even more disgusting but good that others can see it and know how the ********** of *** Bath works. I spent an hour on the phone with your customer service and was back and forth with my bank all Sunday morning to track down the mysterious purchase you thanked me for a month later. Tried to place an online order. After midnight, left the item in my cart overnight; next morning the price imn the cart had increased! The 20% off coupon was available to me when I placed the item in the cart after midnight; next morning not available. Tried to "Chat" online, but none of my concerns were answered. They just threw stock a nswers that did not address my personal questions or concerns - that is, when they would respond. Chat took so my longer than a typical chat inquiry with an online seller. Never again. No wonder their sales have sropped by 25%. I'm off to Amazon. I may pay a few dollars more, but I'll get $ credited by using my credit card.Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. (Bankrupt)

I went to make a purchase from Bed Bath & Beyond as they had sent me 20% off entire purchase coupon. I went to purchase several items and after applying my coupon it deducted the said 20% from my total. When I went to pay for the items I was charged the original price (with out the 20% discount). I called the customer service and explained the situation, they acted as if this was the way they do business and were not concerned. I received an email for 25% off my entire order. When I clicked to use it, it took me to the app but the coupon was not there. When I went into the store, they told me it was for pick up only. Nowhere in this marketing email does it outline those terms. It's not in the body of the email nor is it in the disclaimer.When I contacted customer service via text, they gave me a 20% off a single item. This is a joke and doesn't address the fact that they sent me an email for 25% off my entire order and the coupon doesn't even exist. They shouldn't be sending out emails for promotions that A. seem to not exist and B. don't outline the terms and conditions. I also forwarded the promotional email to their customer service email address and got no response. I am inundated with marketing emails (despite unsubscribing - illegal btw) but can't get a response. No response on ********* either. Avoid this company like the plague.Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. I came and picked up an online order. When I got home, one of the two items I purchased was previously opened and broken. I have never had any issues with online orders until Bed Bath & Beyond. I came to return my order of $40.42 and only got $39.32 for a refund. The online order confirmation email did not have the total $ so I could not verify until I got home. Talk about sneaky thievery!
