I am writing to formally dispute the account referenced under account number ********* that appears on my credit report. This account was opened without my authorization and constitutes fraudulent activity. I have no recollection of applying for or consenting to any agreement with COLLECTION Under 15 USC 1692g (Validation of Debts), you are required to provide verification of the debt or a copy of the judgment if I notify you in writing within *************************************************** documentation proving that I consented to this account. Without a valid, legally binding agreement bearing my signature, there is no basis for this account to exist under my name.Since this account was established fraudulently, I request its immediate removal from my credit report and that any collection activity cease. I have tried to get in contact with Velocity about my debts that were sold to them from *******. I sent them an email and they told me it was sold to a local law firm. Well that law firm is not answering my attempts to contact them. So I have tried to reach back out to Velocity twice with no answer. I sent emails on May 7, 2025 and May 9, 2025 to Velocity with no answer. I have sent 4 emails to the law firm. May 6, 2025, May 7, 2025 and again on May 9, 2025, again no answer.Business Response

I am unable to reach Velocity investments to resolve my debt. I have tried on multiple occasions to call Velocity. I have not received any paperwork from them but was notified by local lawyers that there is a lawsuit pending. I am not sure what I owe them for or how much. I am not liable for this debt with Velocity. I did not and do not have a contract with them, they did not provide me with the original contract or a letter of debt validation as requested. I only found out about myself being sued by them while looking up another person on my City's Clerk of Courts page, I have not rec'd anything in writing from Velocity in regards to any account at all.Business Response

Velocity investments is a scam company. I never had a debt with them but after some research came to find out a previous debt I had from years and years ago was sold to them. The firm that represents them,marcadis singer, is also a scam company who are very unprofessional. They originally sent me a notice threatening to sue, but was able to come up with a solution for a payment plan. When I lost my job and was also pregnant at the time I was unable to pay due to no income. I kept marcadis singer aware of my issue and made sure to stay in contact every time they called. I was never made aware that Id be sued or my account would be garnished. I was still unemployed. I started working in December of 2024 but shortly after went on maternity leave with again no income coming in. While on leave my account was garnished by marcadis singer who told me velocity went to court to have my entire bank account garnished leaving me with no income and no money. I was told in order to get my money back I had to pay over $9000 when I dont even have that much in my bank account. I asked if I can speak with velocity directly and was told not to waste my time because they will just redirect me back to them. I was never notifed of this beforehand and received a letter about a week later. I have been trying to settle this with the law firm and they have been nothing short of unprofessional. This is going on week 3 now with still no resolution. The debt collector I have been working with has not recently returned my voicemail/phone calls and apparently is not in the office. I explained that I am willing to make an offer but yet have not heard anything. This is a very time sensitive matter and am looking to have this issue resolved asapBusiness Response

The current balance of this account is $8,765.99. Since 2021 Ms. *** has been on two different payment plans; one prior to the judgment which was defaulted and the second payment plan after judgment. The judgement was received in January of 2024. ******** and Associates moved to garnish Ms. **** account in March of 2025 after payments stopped post judgment. *********************** gave the consumer the opportunity to cure the account prior to default. Consumers have the option to stipulate to the garnishment, however, the consumer did not take that option. ***** Fargo responded to the garnishment on April 9, 2025. Ms. *** has claimed she was going to file a claim of exemption, but this claim has never been received by *******************************. The consumer provided hardship information on April 16, 2025. The payment plan offered by Ms. *** is being reviewed. My wages were garnished for the amount of ******* all while my taxes were held for the amount of 1615. This garnishment was already met for the amount owed (*******). I would like my taxes released and the garnishment closed on my payroll for the money is still being taken out.
