If I could give them a Zero rating I would. Defined Fitness Corporate Officers and staff refuse to have an in-person discussion, they refuse to return phone calls, they are cold as ice and not at all interested in hearing about their members questions or concerns. They are only interested in squeezing out the last dollar they can get, even when it involves a previously loyal long time member who decides to quit because they are being treated unfairly and disrespected. Defined Fitness Corporate Officers are uncaring, unfeeling, money grubbers and they couldn't care less about their members. To them, members are merely a monthly credit card ************ come, easy go. Companies that run this way eventually find out that when you ignore your customers concerns and treat them with disdain and disrespect, it's going to have devastating financial consequences down the road. Defined Fitness corporate Officers and staff can be compared to the Wizard of Oz characters, they have no brain, no heart and not enough courage to simply discuss a members problem. Good riddance

Staff was misleading on membership fees said the charge was 39.99 monthly he forgot to mention 3.01 extra for processing fee so they charged 66.51 instead of 39.99. Telling us that was our problem, we turned them in for misleading us and turned them in for fraud. DO NOT TRUST WHAT THEY SAY...THIS WAS IN RIO RANCHO. 4400 JAGAR STREET RIO RANCHO,NM 87004. THE MANAGER WAS THE WORST REPRESENTATIVE TRIED TO EXPLAIN WHY WE WERE UPSET HE WAS VERY RUDE AS WELL. THEY MUST WORK ON COMMISSION IS ALL I CAN. No stars

I was triple charged for my membership back in January 2023. In February the general manager at the time informed me that my refund was going to be processed. More than 30 days passed, I never received my refund and had to file a dispute with my bank. I have come in multiple times asking to cancel my membership and I am told that a general manager will call me to go over the process. There are now past due balances. I have spoken to ***** (just a regular worker)my last visit. I saw him physically give the note with my contact information to the general manager at the time. I never received a phone call to go over the situation. Today I went in again to see what we could do. I spoke to **** who is now the 3rd new manager I have spoken with and I am constantly informed that they are going to speak with the corporate office as I am not the only one with billing issues. I am getting the push around with no valid information causing further debt on my record.

If I could give no stars I would. Very unethical company. Signed up for a deal and when I went in I kept asking - so Im only signing up for this deal? Asked a few times and the answer was always yes. Then when the deal was over they started to charged me monthly. Went in to cancel this - they said I signed a 12 month contract. I could cancel for $100.00. I do not remember signing any contract. I was referred to ****** in the corporate office. She said all of their ads indicated that you had to be signed up for a year after promo was over. Asked her to send me a copy of the ads. Of course she didnt. I asked for her number so I could follow up - she gave me a phone number - called many times - always busy - finally got thru and it was only a recording about how to cancel - definitely not a live number. Then went in to one of the gyms. Asked to get a copy of the contract I signed. Was told that they had a new system but I was assured I could get a copy. Followed up again - ***** can seem to give me a copy of that contract. I got a new credit card so I could no longer be charged monthly. Now of course ** getting emails saying Im in arrears. The email says to write a response within 30 days if I dont agree with the charges. The email had a phone number which was only a recording. And no address of where to send the written response. Finally figured out something on their web site. I would never go to this gym. There were many bad reviews and I shouldve listened.

I have been a Defined Fitness member since ****. My most recent years have been at the new ********* I moved. but return often to ********** so I held my membership. Then I got on with Presbyterian and I have a membership through them. The front desk insists I come I. Personally and switch it over. I called several times. And my husband switched it over for me in person in December. I wasnt billed January for the original membership. I was billed February and March and didnt realize it until March. On my last visit hime I wanted those 2 months credited because ** already paying for my membership and I wanted to swim since I was there. I only use the pool. Nope. And **** and **** were beyond awful. Ive contacted main office. No help, they dont answer any written complain or their phones. As well. My child had a membership. They charged her 3 months of that membership to cancel and join my Presbyterian membership. Remember. This gym is getting their full due from Presbyterian. So at this point Im paying 5 months EXTRA to this gym for memberships Im already paying in full. On top of that. My husband went in to switch things over and they harassed him. But they said it was fine. Lie. **** at the front desk with general manager on his badge went ahead after MUCH ado and canceled my membership. But he said I cannot swim at that location anymore because I was so frustrated at the front desk. He was stoic and non-responsive. Like a stepford wife refusing to give me back my 2 months of fees. I know this is what he did to my child. Who wouldnt fight him. I fought him and I threw a fit at the counter after being robbed by my childs membership and harassed by **** while switching over to the Presbyterian membership These people are FEE thieves. Do. It trust them. They lie and shrug. They have nuanced nonsense in their contracts. Do not sign anything with them.. **** kept trying to get me to sign that I wouldnt argue fees. I will. Warning

Organization and managers are scam artist. I enjoyed a membership for a couple of months before accepting a job on the east coast. I attempted to cancel my membership based on the move to ********, a location without Defined Fitness. They have continued to bill me each month, going on 4 months now, the front desk screens my calls so I cannot speak with a manger, I was charged changed an extra $30 upon my request to cancel membership, the corporate phone number is a maze of menu options that do not ring to anyone's desk. I've since resorted to working through my credit card company to dispute charges and process a stop payment order. SCAM ARTISTS.

I have belonged to Defined Fitness because of Silver Sneakers for about 9 years. They have good instructors and being healthy is a priority for me. My recent experience with Defined Fitness at Hilltop has really colored my view of the organization. I signed up for a personal trainer (she was very good) and have enjoyed the training sessions. When I signed up I told the gal that I only wanted 3 months of training. It is very expensive at $65 dollars with tax for a 1/2 hour session. Since it was the middle of the month she said she would prorate my fee (they bill at the first of the month) and I expected that the last month would be prorated also. When my December credit card statement came in and ****** charged the full amount for December those sessions. I called to explain I only had wanted the 3 months. If the girl I had signed up with would have told me to start my sessions at the beginning of the month to avoid the extra sessions I would have. At the time she showed me a contract which I barley read because I told her what I had wanted which was 3 months worth. Long story short I called to ask about this and she said I had signed up for 4 extra sessions. But I didnt want them. She then said if I wished to cancel I needed to pay a $100.00 cancellation fee. After thinking about it I called her back and said I will pay the fee but would like to cancel the rest of my sessions. Defined then fixed the bill and went back and charged an additional $15 a session. From session credits of $420 dollars minus $100 cancellation fee and then the up charge for breaking the contract of $315 they are reimbursing me $5.00. Also the personal trainer gets none of this. I felt like I was scammed. Tis the season. I was a miss in not asking more questions and signing this contract. My thought is BUYER BEWARE. NOT every company has the good intentions of the client in mind. I go to defined because of Silver Sneakers and the pool.

Thank you very much for your loyalty to Defined Fitness over the last nine years. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your personal trainer. We work hard to ensure our members get the most out of their training sessions. I apologize for the confusion on your 3-month agreement. In speaking with our personal training manager it sounds like we followed our cancelation policy and terms of the agreement, but we understand that this miscommunication left a bad impression. We would like the opportunity to earn your trust back. As you can attest in your 9-years as a member, Defined Fitness maintains high standards and a positive reputation for over three decades. We can always do better, and hope your positive experience with your trainer and your longstanding membership will stand as a testament to our member service standards and high standards of excellence. We look forward to having the opportunity to continue to support you in your fitness goals.

Not clean or well maintained. Equipment constantly broken down. All resources appear to go into opening new locations. Complaints seldom answered or dealt with.

Thank you for sharing your concerns so that we have the opportunity to rectify them. Due to the volume of members we serve daily in each of our clubs, we invest in having a full-time maintenance technician at every one of our clubs to ensure our equipment is fixed in a timely manner should it break for any reason. In the last year we have invested nearly half a million in new equipment in our clubs in addition to opening four new clubs since 2019. If a piece of equipment is broken and a part is unavailable we exhaust every option to get the missing parts. Unfortunately in the last several years a lot of the parts manufactures have experienced difficulties similar to many overseas suppliers in sourcing the parts needed for the equipment. After over three decades in the industry we have strong partnerships with all our equipment manufactures who work tirelessly to get us the parts and equipment needed. I assure you it is our top priority to maintain our facilities and equipment. Please report any broken equipment to the front desk at your club, we have launched a new app for our team that allows them to submit an out of order form and it is immediately documented and received by our facilities technicians and leadership teams. We hope to continue to serve your as our member for years to come.
