    On 10/24/24, I went to MMC Family Medicine Center for a routine annual physical. My insurance, *****, covers all of my annual physical, including routine lab work, minus a $20 co-pay. MMCFMC sent the lab work to MMC Hospital with the incorrect diagnostic codes. They sent them as diagnostic rather than preventative. Therefore, my insurance only covered a portion of the lab bill, and the lab is charging me the $825.98 balance.

    I alerted MMCFMC to this issue when I received the bill from MMC Hospital on 11/10/24. I spent countless hours on the phone with them and my insurance company and the lab. I have also visited them in person three times. They acknowledge that it is their error, but have failed to act. They have not corrected the codes they sent to the lab.

    Now, five months after I initially contacted MMCFMC, the lab bill has been sent to collections. Now ********** is harassing me to pay a bill that was supposed to be covered by my insurance.

    I am asking that the BBB insist that MMC Family Medicine Center correct the codes immediately and/or pay the lab the balance of the bill due to their error.

    In addition, I request that MMCFMC immediately issue to a correction to my credit report.

    I'll be happy to close the case once it's resolved. I am glad to hear that they want to work directly with me to resolve the case. But I cannot drop the complaint until they do so. After six months, I am skeptical that they will follow through. I hope I am wrong and that this time is different. But so far, the director of Memorial Family Medicine Center and the CFO of MMC have heard my repeated complaints, acknowledged the error, but not followed through in resolving their incorrect billing codes.

    I am not liable for this debt with Las Cruces Memorial Medical Center. I do not have a contract with Medicredit. They did not provide me with the original contract as requested.
