The ** unit was installed improperly. I paid over 20 grand for two ** units for my home. They wired the bigger unit at 35 amp and the unit needs 40 amp on the breaker to match. I called them to let them know to fix it asap. ******** whos answering the phones today was incredibly rude, condescending, mocking my accent and refused to have the issue resolved. Also this company shall reconsider who they hire to answer the phones - the individual who I got to speak to is borderline racist and xenophobic. Hung up on me 2 times after I asked to speak to management.

No one has been rude to Mrs ********* She has accused everyone past and present of being xenophobic and racist. Her system was install 5 years ago and has run with no problem. In her scope of work was never to install new breakers. She will need to contact a licensed electrician to replace the breakers. We installed her HVAC system to code and it was inspected by the building department. Based on the accusations of terrible behavior, we cannot in good conscience subject our employees to these kind of allegations.

Alaskan plumbing and air has caused lots of damage to my home due to their failure to properly install and RECOGNIZE the poor install of the drain pans beneath the each AC unit in the attic. Their improper install caused the build up moisture to freely pour into my attic's insulation which caused the mold presence in the living space.

See the attached mold report which shows the presence of black mold in the affected area.

I am asking to reopen the case and that Alaskan Plumbing and air stops harassing me and covers the cost I now am stuck with. We are speaking of THOUSANDS of dollars damage

In August 2020 I contracted with Alaskan Plumbing **************************** to install 2 new ********* AC/Furnace units at my home. Included in the contract was a 12 year labor warranty (1 for each unit costing $600/unit) totaling $1,200.00. The units were installed on August 19, 2020. On July 30, 2024 one of the units that provides air conditioning to the upstairs of my home stopped working. I contacted Alaskan at 10am and requested a technician to come out but was told they did not have any availability. I contacted another ************ who came out and diagnosed the issue as a freon leak/low freon charge and referred me back to Alaskan as this should be covered under warranty service. I contacted Alaskan again at 12:45pm informing them of the situation and requesting a technician be dispatched as soon as possible. They were unable to dispatch a technician until 9am July 31, 2024 and determined that the compressor had failed and would be covered under the parts warranty. Later on July 31, 2024 I was advised by Alaskan that the compressor was on backorder and may take 7-14 days to arrive. I requested an alternative plan in the meantime to cool the house as all 4 bedrooms and my home office were unusable due to the heat. They offered a portable AC unit and I requested 2 as we would need at least 2 bedrooms to be cooled. On August 1, they brought 1 portable AC unit and are unwilling to offer any other temporary help to make my house reasonably liveable. I spent $1,106.46 out of my own pocket to purchase additional portable AC units. At present I do not have an ETA for the repair of the existing AC system and expect my power bill to be significantly higher for the next billing cycle due to the use of portable AC units. I am requesting a reimbursement of the out of pocket expense and for Alaskan to make every effort to complete the repair to my existing system in a timely manner.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/16/2024

The repair was completed almost 10 days following my initial report. I would still like Alaskan to register the labor warranty and register the warranty on the replacement unit.

We have replaced the condenser for the client at no charge.  Unfortunately we do not control supply chain issues and apologize for the frustration they experienced.

Alaskan Air installed a new Air conditioner on 7/25/23. A few weeks later we discovered extensive water damage to our master bedroom ceiling. A technician came to inspect and said the unit was not sealed properly and sent 2 technicians to seal it that day. The office was notified and pictures provided and also our insurance was notified. However we were told that it is Alaskan Air's responsibility. They sent a repair company. When they arrived they were told that it couldn't be repaired but needed replaced along with installation. The technician agreed. After several calls to Alaskan Air wirh promises to call back (12 calls to date) they finally sent another company out to give them an estimate. The estimate fir $3500 and was provided to Alaskan on 9/25. The company, H and M, said that it would take about 3 days to replace and that we could not sleep in our bedroom during this time. When we called Alaskan asking how this would work with us having to stay in a motel and we were told they typically don't pay for motels. I said that since they caused the damage they would be responsible for the bill since we couldn't sleep in our room and have no other bedrooms available. They again Said they would get back with us and we did not get a call back. Our last call was Thursday 10/5 and no response. They replaced the new air conditioner on September 26th saying the new one installed on 7/25 was defective. We just want our ceiling and installation replaced due to water damage that they caused and we expect them to pay for us to stay in a motel for the 3 days that we cannot sleep in our room. On Monday I will be calling the ***************** and issue a complaint. We have been very patient but need sone action not just lip service. We paid $12,800 for the air conditioner

The ****************** has assigned an inspector to this case and they have inspected the damage and we are awaiting the official letter giving Alaskan Air 10 days to have fixed by a licensed drywall contractor.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/18/2023

Part of our services include any drywall repairs that are needed in the event there is any damage.  In this case the customer had about $600 worth of damage to the drywall after water leaked into the home from the air condition condensation.  We sent out two drywall companies to assess the scope of work and to provide us with a proposal.  Both reported that the work required would be around $600.  The customer refused the work and insisted that we replace her entire ceiling and put her up in a hotel for a couple of days while the work was being completed.  This was not reasonable and is not required to repair the water damage to the ceiling.  (As a side note, we hire the best quality drywalling company and their work is outstanding.)

We met with the inspector from the ***************** at the customers home and he helped explain to the customer that our requirement was to do the simple repair that we already offered twice.  This work will be completed as soon as the drywaller is able to perform the work (at no cost to the customer).

This is a complaint against ****** Plumbing, a water district recommended plumber who advertised leak detection services. The ***** (*******************************) informed us that we had a significant leak. We had recently repaired a few sprinkler system leaks and found a few more. However, even with the sprinkler system, pool, and fountains shut off, a significant leak continued. I searched the house for a leak, checking all faucets, toilets, sinks, showers, bathtubs, reverse osmosis systems, water heater, water softener, walls, floors, and ceilings finding no apparent leaks. Therefore, I consulted a ***** recommended plumber, asking the plumbing manager how they could detect the leak and explaining that I really did not want someone to repeat only what I had already done. ****** Plumbing said they had several leak detecting tools such as ultrasound, and charged $89 for a visit.****** Plumbing sent ******************** to inspect my home for the leak. After looking at the water meter and the house main water connection in the garage, he said that the leak was between the meter and the garage, which would require digging up the yard. I told him that was incorrect, as turning off the house main valve resulted in no movement at the water meter.******************** then inspected the house, performing all the checks that I had previously done. He decided that the leak was in the pipes under the garage cement floor and did no further testing. (I knew that this was incorrect as the pipes were in the garage walls.)He promised to send me his report that day, but only did so 4 days later. I called ****** Plumbing asking to talk to the plumbing manager both before and after I received his report, which wanted an $18,000 cold water replumbing. I never received any return calls. It seems that ****** Plumbing was interested in neither finding a leak, nor returning calls, only trying to sell expensive services to an unsuspecting client.Date of service was ~8/21/2023.
