On 12/29/22, NV Sliding Door Repair serviced our sliding door. We were quoted $729. That quote felt very high given the scope of work and we expressed our concern. However, we were reassured by the tech that there are only two companies in the Las Vegas area that service sliding doors, and that they are comparably priced. Having just moved to Las Vegas two weeks prior and not being familiar with the area, which I explained to the tech, we took his representations in good faith and proceeded with the service for $700 cash.

A red flag was raised when we saw that the actual work itself only took about 30 minutes to complete and the materials used were basic parts that retail between $5-$20. We later found that there are in fact multiple sliding door repair servicers in the area. We contacted a few and obtained quotes for the same service, using the same materials. The average quote was $350, with the lowest at $280. It was clear we were price gouged.

The billing abuse was excessive. We were invoiced $320 for a stainless-steel track replacement, which represents a price inflation of 3 to 8 times the average market cost for this same replacement. We were also invoiced $100 for a new mortise lock, which retails for $5-$10.

There was also false advertising. We discovered this business had an advertisement of $189 for roller replacement, door adjustment, & track cleaning, but we were charged $280 for this.

In sum, this business misrepresented material facts that were shown to be false. These false claims were used to induce our decision to use their service. They also did not apply their own advertised pricing. As result, we suffered a material loss.

We contacted the business about these concerns and requested that they honor their policy to price match and provide a partial refund. They refused. They offered a credit, which we declined given their bad faith actions. We hope that the BBB can help resolve this matter.
