My wife and I have owned a Manhattan Club timeshare in NYC since 2000. For some years now we wanted to get out of it as we are getting older; however, a consent decree between the Club and the New York Attorney General's office made it almost impossible to get rid of it. This is because the Club can no longer sell timeshares and so they won't take it back, and the one major timeshare exit company that advertises frequently advised us they couldn't help us because of the consent decree.
We contacted Time Share Defense Attorneys located in Las Vegas, NV in November 2023, and they said they could get us out of our timeshare. As a retired lawyer, I reviewed and studied their contract closely before satisfying myself that they were legitimate and agreeing to go with them. They allowed us to pay our contract fee over a one-year period without interest. In March 2025, they contacted me and advised that the Club was going to release us from our timeshare and sent us the documentation that needed signed and filed with the court in NY. We signed the documents and in early June we got confirmation that the documents were filed in court, and we are released from our timeshare. This is a great relief to my wife and I as our maintenance fees and real estate taxes were around $3500 every year. I am very pleased with our experience with Time Share Defense Attorneys, and the fact that they successfully got us released from our timeshare obligation with the Manhattan Club. I will tell you that they don't send out updates, and their contract says that so don't expect to get regular emails or calls. I did contact them once to see if they had anything to report, but otherwise we let them do their work as they committed to do. We are so glad to have this major burden lifted from us after trying for some years to get out of our timeshare. I highly recommend Time Share Defense Attorneys if you have a timeshare that the timeshare company won't take back voluntarily.Timeshare Defense Attorneys

1 starI strongly advise against hiring Richard ******** or his law firm. My experience has been marred by unethical practices, gross negligence, and a blatant disregard for Nevada law. Key points detailing my concerns of this firm:
Legal Malpractice:
•The firm improperly canceled a contract without just cause, violating my legal rights and causing financial and emotional harm.
•Richard ******** failed to present crucial evidence in my case, leading to an unfavorable outcome and preventing me and my wife from making informed decisions about an offer from Hilton Grand Vacations.
2. Intimidation and Bullying:
•The firm engaged in unethical conduct by using an employee, Ammon Gregory ******, to intimidate and bully my wife and me into simply waiting to leverage none payment with the resort. This included threats to cease representation if we did not comply.
4. Violations of Nevada Law:
•Violations of Nevada Rule of Professional Conduct 1.4 (Communication): The firm failed to provide timely and necessary communication to allow informed decision-making.
•Violations of Rule 1.3 (Diligence): The firm displayed a lack of diligence in handling my case, missing key opportunities to protect my legal interests.
•Potential violations of Rule 8.4 (Misconduct): Engaging in intimidation tactics and actions that undermine public confidence in the legal profession.
If you’ve experienced similar misconduct, you can file a complaint with the Nevada State Bar by visiting https://*****.org. Submit detailed documentation, emails, and timelines for review.
Richard uses false promises and wording both with his employees and on his website along with the contract you sign to get away with collecting monies and sitting on it while skipping negotiation and going straight to leveraging none payment. Something I as a customer can do all by myself.
This is a personal review and not legal advise. Beware, ask for documentation from the firm regarding your case. *******@************************* comReview fromGiselle C

1 starIS THERE A NO STARTS OPTION??? No way these attorneys have this rating... After paying over $5000 and waiting over 39 months they concluded my case with a email as follows:
This email will serve as confirmation that you are out of your timeshare with Flagship! Unfortunately the resort has no legal obligation to provide written confirmation to our office regarding this and they have indicated to us that they have no intention of doing so. Although the attorneys find this highly unlikely, if you receive anything from the resort, please reach back out to our office and we will take any additional action necessary.
I am left with a collection for over 8000 dollars plus all the fees the timeshare felt like adding and this business address as my address on my credit report. When we first spoke I was told they were negotiating any payment that needed to be made.
I reached out to correct this and speak to someone and after 2 months I get this email:
As mentioned in my last email, I have forwarded that Case Completed email we previously sent below for your reference. Thank you!
Seriously!!!! How can this be?
DO NOT USE THIS PEOPLE! THEY NEVER ANSWER CALLS OR EMAILS ONLY AFTER YOU FUSED AND REPEATLY CONTACT THEM... JUST SCAMMING PEOPLE!!! I WISHED I NEVER SIGNED THAT CONTRACT WITH YOU GUYS, WORST DECISION EVER. I ONLY OWED 6000 DOLLARS ON THE TIMESHARE, HOW IN THE WORLD IM LEFT WITH ALMOST 9000 AFTER PAYING YOU GUYS. SCAMMERS!!!!Review fromJohn M

So in 2020 I was approached by timeshare defense attorneys to cancel my ******** timeshare. Which they said they would and give me free help for my credit reports, which did not happen and the time share has negative reports on me so when it came to buying my new house having to pay higher interest rate, also higher premiums on insurance and etc.
Now in 2024 I received a letter stating they have reached an agreement with time share unit (**** ****) to cancel only if I pay another $5000 in 15 days which I never was told would happen.Timeshare Defense Attorneys

John please reach out to us directly as we have been trying to get a hold of you and left multiple voicemails so we can go over this confidential offer with you. Just to clarify, you signed up with us in 2021 and we already got you set up on credit repair services and they are awaiting a response from you since December 2023.Review fromNajma P

5 starsI am finally free!!! I was skeptical at first because I think everything is a scam but I’m happy to say Timeshare defense Attorney is the real deal. I’m so happy that they could help get me out of something I thought I would be in forever. I no longer have a timeshare with Holiday Inn vacation club. The process did take about 18 months but they were available and reachable every step of the way. Any questions or concerns I had they responded in a timely manner. Thanks for all your assistance and I would recommend them to anyone looking to get out of their timeshare.Review fromMichelle F

Timeshare Defense Attorney's are more crooked than the Timeshare company we hired them to work with. They charged us an exorbitant amount of money, and every time we inquired about the status of our timeshare account we sent a form letter email stating that they were working to get the resort to the bargaining table but that they were being uncooroperative. The latest of these was in January 2024. AFTER we had received written documentation and verbal confirmation from the resort that our contract had been cancelled in November of 2023. The resort also confirmed that there was NO communication from the attorney at all, ever. When we attempted to get an appointment with one of the actual attorneys we were shuffled around to multiple departments and then told we would have to wait 3 MONTHS to speak to an attorney! They were more than happy to talk to us when they wanted our money but once they had us, they have no interest in speaking with us. We were told they have many clients, and they don't have time for us. Do Not hire anyone from this office, they are dishonest, and only want your money. ( I would actually not even give them 1 star - but that is not an option)Timeshare Defense Attorneys

Hello Rebecca and Scott,
Thank you for posting your concerns here however, we are shocked by these harsh statements from you that are patently false.
1. Most attorneys charge their fees upfront and on an hourly basis. You agreed to an affordable one time fee on a payment plan, that you are actually past due on currently. When you signed up you also let us know that you had already tried, and failed, to get out of the timeshare on your own and therefore needed our help as often times, just having an attorney represent is all it takes to get the timeshare to back down and release you.
2. As soon as you signed up in August 2023, we started your case by sending a letter of representation to the resort clearly letting them know our position and starting the communication with them so that they knew you were legally represented by attorneys.
3. Soon after you signed up and got us your documents, you spoke to the attorney about your case who went over what the process would look like in your circumstance. We are only 6 months into your process when an offer was sent by the resort. It is no coincidence that they made an offer to you after we sent our letter of representation and they knew you were legally represented by us.
4. We have spoken to you every time you called or emailed in. This claim that we didn't want to speak with you is false and we engage with all our clients anytime they call or email us.
5. The resorts routinely lie to their clients which is why you came to us in the first place for our services. As mentioned previously, we have been in communication with the resort but they like to lie to sew distrust in the hopes that you drop your legal representation and they can go back to bullying, lying, coercing etc into making lifelong payments. Timeshare Defense Attorneys does not lie and have been nothing but transparent with you about the whole process from the beginning and even now.
6. If you have received correspondence from the resort you should send it to us so we can have the attorneys review it and take any action that may be necessary, since that is a huge benefit of having legal representation.
We hope you do not fall for the resort's lies and reach out to us so we can continue to help you out of this timeshare.
