Signature processing services was linked to Nelnet which is a service through the department of education. I thought they were legit. Signature Processing Services told me they were taking my money to consolidate loans when you dont have to pay to consolidate your loans. They told me I had to pay to consolidate in order to reduce my student loan repayment through their program. When I confronted them, they had an attitude and hung up in my face. I would like my ***** dollars back. I could put that toward my student loans.Business Response

When *************** signed up for our services in July of 2022, she went through a compliance call like all of our other clients. In this compliance call we ask if the client understands that completing the documents is something they can do on their own for free but that they are choosing to pay for our services to prepare the documents. *************** said yes to this question so she was aware that this is something she could have done on her own. The agreement she signed also states all of this information as well. Her consolidation has been complete for almost a year at this point so the documents that we prepared worked and therefore the services she paid for were provided.Initial Complaint

I am writing to formally complain against Signature Processing Services for its fraudulent practices and misleading representations regarding student loan forgiveness services. 6/8/2023 I contacted them after seeing their advertisement letter promising complete student loan forgiveness and relief. Eager to alleviate my financial burden, I engaged their services and entrusted them with handling my student loan forgiveness process. They consistently provided vague and evasive responses when I sought updates on my case and failed to provide any evidence of progress or communication with my loan servicer. His name is *********************, and his email is ************************************** I do not authorize this person or company to use my information in any way, and I stated that in an email. He asked me to download my aid date and email it to him. Many other students have complained about this company asking for this SSN and bank information. They are FRAUD. Furthermore, upon conducting thorough research and consulting with legitimate financial advisors, I discovered that the methods employed by Signature Processing Services directly violated the law. They were falsely claiming to have unique connections and shortcuts to secure loan forgiveness, which does not exist. Additionally, I have reached out to other individuals who have used their services and found numerous instances of similar fraudulent activities and empty promises. This company has been preying on financially distressed individuals desperate for help and exploiting their vulnerability. I believe it is crucial to bring these unethical actions to your attention in order to protect other unsuspecting individuals from falling victim to their deceitful schemes. I eagerly await your prompt attention to this matter and a resolution that reflects the severity of the situation.Initial Complaint

I was so sure that this program is legit because the information presented has my information from MOHELA, THE FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN CARRIER IN WHICH I am repaying my loan to. I was informed by *************************** that this program would help me pay my student loan faster and still be eligible for Student Loan Debt Relief through *********************** Student Loan Debt Relief program. She furthered stated that I am eligible since i owe ******* for education loans . The payments would be reasonable based on family and income size. I could cancel at any time.. I canceled this information, but not before ****** had been electronically drawn from my account. and now this company says that they sent my money to me. by mail. and they have not. I contacted this company on March 6, and March 9th, which as yesterday, not counting the times , I called in January and February. We acknowledge the concerns raised by the client regarding the refund for the first installment of $250.00 that was approved by our company. We can confirm that the refund was processed and a check was mailed to the verified address of the client on January 18, 2023. Our bank records show that the check was deposited by the client on January 24, 2023, and we have attached the records for your reference.
We understand that the client called our customer service on March 6, 2023, seeking information about the status of the refund. We informed the client that the check was cashed by them, as per our bank records. On March 9, 2023, the client called back and mentioned the possibility of fraud being committed. We advised the client to report the issue to their bank immediately, but the client refused and requested that we issue another check.
We take all customer complaints seriously and strive to resolve them to the best of our ability. However, during the conversation on March 9, 2023, the client was verbally abusive towards our billing representative. Since the client is claiming fraud, we recommend the client resolves this matter with her bank.Initial Complaint

I got contacted via snail mail with an offer to student loan consolidation and payment reduction, the "agent" made it seem as they were from a governmental authorized agency, they collected my SS#, my Driver License # and my work information. They informed me that I was qualified for benefits, and they will let me know what the next steps to follow were. At this point I asked if they were charging fpr the services and the person on the other line confirmed that yes, I was. This raised a negative flag, I told them I needed to retreat from this. The agent abruptly hanged up the phone.I fear that they will use my personal information for identity theft.Business Response

As a company, SPS does not ever tell any potential client that we are part of the ********** of ********* or any other government organization. The letter that was received by this person outlines the fact that we are a private company offering document preparation services for student loan consolidations and repayment plans offered by the ********** of ********* for federal student loans. Due to the fact that these are federal loans, personal information like SNN and DOB are required to ensure that the potential client has loans that qualify for these programs just like this information is required when first applying for the loans. If the potential client chooses not to move forward with our services, their file is closed, and no information is used for anything further.
