I was illegally towed from this parking lot. They had signs that weren't visible and not placed around the lot in a way for everyone to see. I went here to eat at ********* and my screenshot from my ****** maps timeline is proof, as well as my purchase at *********. I was there from 130pm to 220pm and had to park in that part of the shopping center due to no parking available infront of *********. I know their was an event going on but I was not there for the event, I was parked in the shopping center to eat at a restaurant inside the shopping center. I would like to get a refund for my dad **** ***** because he is the registered owner and I will have to get my car out in the morning to make it to work on Tuesday. Their reviews on ****** and Yelp will show they got alot of other people to this weekend with their inadequate signs.

      This is the receit information

      Business Response

Yes, many people were towed from this lot. Most claim the signs were not posted at all, some say there were not enough signs. The regular everyday signs posted in this lot are done directly in accordance with Nevada law. But on this 1 weekend, because of the event across the street at ***********, extra signs were placed at each entrance of the retail plaza parking lot. That were there at the onset of each day of the event. Failure to read the message on the sign does not equal no signs or insufficient signs posted throughout. A number of the extra signs were completely gone by the end of each day and some were vandalized and thrown away from the driveways they were placed in. These missing and vandalized signs were replaced daily before the event started. Im sorry you ate at ********* and had to park where you did. But ********* is not a part of the property that we were towing from and unfortunately when you parked your car and left the private property your car became eligible to be towed.
the BBB is not your best place for recourse in this matter. Get in touch with the *** (*******************************) **********  and lodge a complaint against Tow Guys. If you are correct I will be ordered to refund the monies we have already collected and I will be given a citation that comes with a fine that can be as high as $10,000.00.

10/12/24 $523.77 They unlawfully towed my car. When I went to retrieve my car I noticed their business license was expired and when someone pointed that out they got really upset and refused to explain. They charged me the after hours fee and the night fee. Even though they towed my car @1:36pm and I got there @4pm. And when they finally gave me my car after over an hour it was damaged. And when I went to this website it says its no longer a business so they stole and damaged my car

      Business Response

I am unable to upload photos of the current business licenses for ********************** and Kings Towing. Our business licenses are current and are on display in our office for public viewing.

after hours fee was applicable on this vehicle release as the car was redeemed on Saturday 10-12-24. Normal business hours are 8am-5pm Monday thru Friday. After hours fee is charged outside of these hours and also on holidays.

I have not seen a damage complaint for this vehicle as of this morning. If I do the damage will e addressed then.

Firstly, we went to dinner at a restaurant at the location of ***. There were no signs in the vicinity of being towed. Came out and vehicle was gone. Around the corner was a hand written sign saying no event parking and showed a tow number. By the off chance we called and yes indeed it was towed. Let me also say we paid a $20 cash fee to a gentlemen to even get in the parking lot of the bar and grill. Once we arrived at the *** location there were 40 other people here with the same incident and no explanation and the same $500 fee to be paid. I asked did the business call because we paid to park and the tow company said I was telling a story and I said okaythen I said I have receipts from the restaurant and he said he didnt want to see them ? So again how is an open public parking allowed to tow especially if you are using that business. Also, the vehicle wasnt in a tow zone or handicap or blocking an issue when they had the right to tow. Another thing is the expired license is posted inside. We asked to see the license and they refused. Then we asked to show us how they came up with that amount and they refused. Others then were asked to sign a legal document saying they inspected their vehicle before signing and paying and they allowed no one to do this. We said we will sign once we inspect our vehicle as the people in front of us their oil something came off in the process of the tow. So damage are being done to the vehicles and they want us to sign or we dont get out vehicle but no allowing the inspection. I asked did the business call to tow my vehicle and he wouldnt answer. Every question I asked would not answer. And then they said were going to lunch I guess no one is getting their cars. Please advise and please get an itemized bill. And please answer how it is legal to tow a vehicle with no visible legal signs posted and how is it legal to tow a vehicle when your a customer at a business. We would like the fee returned

-The lot vehicles were towed from is not a public parking lot. It is private property. The owner of this property has every right to utilize a towing service to remove unwanted vehicles from his property.

-The lot was posted with signs referring to towing throughout. In excess of the legal requirements. Failure to see the signs or heed their warning does not mean the signs were not present. Some signs were torn down and vandalized daily at this location. These signs were replaced in a timely manner.

-Parking was being sold for $20 at other properties in the vicinity but not at the property we were towing for.

-I am unable to upload pics of our current licenses through the ******************** portal. They have been posted in the lobby for public viewing. It was merely an oversight that they had not been posted.

-the signature and initials asked for on the invoice are for acknowledgment of receiving the vehicle and that the fees were paid. They have nothing to do with the possibility of damage. We encourage people to inspect their vehicle when they pick it up. If damages are found a claim can be filed. If damage is found a claim can be filed and we will inspect and objectively determine the claims validity.

-It is unfortunate that responsibility for your actions is being passed to our company. You admittedly parked in the parking lot of a business. Did not conduct business with this business but left the property to attend an event at the park across the street. Then when you returned nearly 3 hours later and found your vehicle was as towed you instantly began throwing blame at every and anybody other than yourself. When entering the parking lot you passed a sign that clearly states parking is for Don ******* customers only and others will be towed. You prevented potential customers that wanted to go to eat at *********** from doing so. But you are ok with that because you found parking close to the event entrance.
-Choosing to ignore the sign does not mean it wasnt there. Not looking for or seeing a sign is kind of like ignoring it. Entitlement led you to believe the sign did not apply to you or you just didnt care what the sign said. There were numerous other signs there as well.
-seeing as you typed your complaint in capital letters Im going to go out in a limb and say that our CSR *****, if she did yell at you at all, (it would be far from her character to do so knowing her and working with her for 10+ years) she yelled back at you after listening to you ridiculous accusations for some time.

As a father and grandfather myself I must say that the message you must have sent to your grandchildren is appalling. If they were scared it was due to your actions and behavior and inability to accept responsibility for your actions.

I was told by **** the employee of Green ****** Grocery that I could leave my car parked. I was prepared to move my vehicle and he came back to where I was getting drinks for my grandchildren and stated the manager said it was okay. When returning 45him say it. This was in ***************, the towing company used was in deep *************** with the milage charged. This was in the middle of the day and they also charged me an after-hour fee. This was complete deception from both organizations. One employee at the grocery told me they tolled out 75 cars that way.

Tonight (Decemeber 18, 2023) I parked across the street from the downtowner and within 25 minutes I go outside to grab some bags from my car and it was towed already. I'm staying at the downtowner and I was given a parking pass. When I called to find my car and get info ie. Amount you guts want to get it out of the impound lot, you tell me it's going to be 350 dollars and it hasn't even sat there for a freaking hour !!!!! Please tell me how this is legal !!!

      Business Response

Let me start by saying that I am sorry you were towed. I know that having a vehicle impounded is usually quite unexpected and it is an expensive occurrence. I assure you that the towing of your vehicle was done lawfully and for a specific reason. The spaces in the parking lot on the northwest corner of 8th and ***** where you parked are ************** that are paid for. A parking permit is issued to the purchaser of a space to display in the windshield of their vehicle. This particular lot is problematic as it is in close proximity to to the Fremont ************* and other downtown attractions. Because it is problematic it is checked frequently by a security patrol and by Tow Guys. If a vehicle is found without a correct permit it is towed once valid written authorization is attained by Tow Guys. There are signs at each entrance stating that a permit is required to park and those without the permit may be towed. This lot is not connected or affiliated with the Downtowner and the permit you were given is not a valid permit to park in the lot you were towed from. The fees you were given were taken directly from our tariff which has been approved and is regulated by the ***************. They are in line with the fees charged by every other non-consent towing company in *********. Lastly, the service we provide is truly a necessary evil for property owners and parking space owners to help maintain their parking lots and spaces. We have a very tough job but again I assure you it is done in a lawful manner under full transparency. I am a representative of Tow Guys and understand you may not believe that I am being forthright with you. If thats the case and you would like to file a complaint and have this tow investigated for its legitimacy you can do so with our regulating agency the *** (******  Transportation Authority). Their contact information is on the bottom of your towing receipt. I think their website address is www.***.**.gov. If not you can just Google *** and it will pop up for you.

I stopped at ************* and *******. I was at the gas pump and then I pulled away from the pump and into a spot that was I think 30 feet away. There was no visible sign on the parking spots. Instead I learned that there was a sign across the lot which is not readable. There is no clear indicator that the spots are for the auto shop and ******* that is readable from that side of the lot, so why am I forced to pay over 300 dollars because my car was quickly towed the minute I walked in 711. I explained the issue and they are not willing to work with me or help me out with this instead I either pay or don't get my car back. This should be illegal. If you tow cars from this lot there should be a sign where the spots start, like on those green poles in between them. So customers know that they are parking illegally. I am blown away that they are doing this to people.

I am familiar with the property on Las Vegas Blvd and *******************. Id like to look into the towing of your car specifically. Could you please provide me with the make and model of the vehicle that was towed as well as the date. Once I have this I will look into the details of the towing of that vehicle and will be better able to address your complaint. Thank you.
