    Bobby Bashaw came to my home to give an estimate for landscaping on 9/22/22. The following day, I gave him a 50 percent deposit ($1,350) for a job that he promised would be done by the end of the next week (9/30/22). He has yet to do any of the landscaping work. I was clear that I wanted to work done ASAP so that my yard could look good the last weeks of fall. I told him that I wouldn’t hire him unless he could assure me that it would be done in that timeframe. He said absolutely. The next day we a arranged a time for him to come and get the deposit check. He was waiting in my driveway before the time I agreed to meet him, and cashed the check within 30 minutes. He has still not begun the work, and this was three weeks ago. I don’t need the work down now in late October. I insist that he return my deposit. He has refused and will not answer my texts.

    In April 2022, we responded to an ad in the ******* ***** ***** (********** Edition) for Livingston Lawn and Landscape. We met with Bobby B***** on April 29, 2022 and signed a contract for landscaping and masonry work. We gave him a $1700 deposit with the verbal expectation he would complete the work by the end of May. After signing the contract, and as he was leaving, he changed the date to mid to late June. On more than 5 occasions he has set work dates then has not shown up or called with explanation. In each case, we have had to initiate communication. The last communication was July 24th. We asked for an update. He said he was getting "it done this week." He did not follow through and we have not been able to speak directly to him. We have emailed him our disappointment and the loss of trust in him. We decided this morning to notify him we want a full refund. While researching for his contact information to fill out this complaint we discovered he has a criminal history of fraud and drug arrests thus feel we need help with resolving this situation. Any help you can offer is appreciated.

    BBB spoke to Bobby at business and the following was relayed:

    We did sign a contract and we had trouble finding labor and got behind. I did give the customer her deposit back on August 5th and she said she still wanted us to do the work. We returned and the job was completed on 8/11, the customer paid and is satisfied.
