    My father **************************** passed away on Jan 28, 2023. He had a car loan with Bethpage Federal Credit Union on a 2019 ******* Santa Fe. Account **********. The loan was paid on time with no lateness. In June I asked Bethpage Federal for the pay off amount for this car. I was given a dollar amount and an address to send the check. I sent the amount I was told and mailed it to the address that I was given by A Bethpage ********* weeks later the check came back in an unopened envelope that stated on the envelope that it was undeliverable. I called Bethpage Federal the next business day, Monday and spoke with a rep who stated that the address was correct but after a conversation with a colleague the rep gave me a new amount with a different address. I sent it to that address and they finally cashed the check. This last week I recieved a late notice and today it doubled stating the account is over due. I have paid this vehicle off as per their instructions and have been met with this bill of $1,059.00 as of 7/22/23. I asked them for the full amount due to pay off this outstanding loan but have been met with multiple roadblocks. It seems one office does not know what the other ***** is doing. I would like them to stop sending late notices, close out this loan and send a receipt that the vehicle was paid.Thank you. *************************

    May 30th there were some transactions that led to my checking account go into the negatives - partly because my employer did not put in the sick day to my payment for the week, also partly due to this service SuperProf accidentally charging me (which has been refunded as of yesterday), and partly because of a courtesy pay and that other fee they gave me from back in December 2022 that I meant to get refunded - and long story short, despite that I said over a year ago to remove the courtesy pay to go into the negatives, applicable transactions still went through, piling on fees.Another point to be made, as you can see in the attached screenshots from the Bethpage Federal Credit Union mobile application, the balance makes no sense as it is supposed to be chronological, it jumps all over the place and in many cases it does not even add up.I am somehow hundreds of dollars into the negatives. I called Bethpage FCU customer service the other day and the employee was just as confused as I was, but she was only able to refund 3 of the charges that day. I need all of these courtesy fees and the other negative balance fee from 2022 - today refunded.

    correspondence to the Better Business Bureau (“BBB”) was received by Bethpage
    Federal Credit Union (“Bethpage”), and we appreciate the opportunity to review
    and address your concerns.

    In
    your correspondence, dated June 5, 2023, you indicate that Bethpage has charged
    you multiple insufficient funds fees for transactions that have posted to your
    account. You also claim that your account balance is inaccurate when you view
    your transactions via our app.

    As
    an account holder, you must ensure you maintain sufficient funds in your
    account to cover all authorized and preauthorized debits prior to initiating
    every transaction. Upon review of your transaction history, there were several
    instances in 2023 in which either point-of-sale debit transactions or
    electronic payments were initiated without sufficient funds available in the
    account. To avoid an overdraft or uncollected funds charge, you must ensure all
    credits (deposits, transfers, etc.) are cleared and reflected in your available
    balance prior to initiating any other debits from your account that may overdraw
    your account.

    Additionally,
    your available balance reflects all transactions that have either posted to the
    account or are still pending to clear the account. For example, if you have
    made a purchase with your debit card, those funds may be placed on hold and
    reduce your available balance prior to being debited from the account.

    Per
    Bethpage’s Consumer Member Account Agreement (“Agreement”), it is important to
    understand that you may still overdraw your account even though the Available
    Balance appears to show there are sufficient funds to cover a transaction you
    want to make. This is because your Available Balance may not be sufficient to
    cover all your outstanding checks and automatic bill payments you authorized or
    other outstanding transactions not posted to your account (see the “Additional
    Considerations” section on p. 4 of the Agreement). For your convenience, the
    Agreement can be found on our website, by visiting

    Although
    you have already had one overdraft charge reversed this year, as a courtesy, we
    have reversed three additional overdraft charges totaling $90.00. Please
    understand that Bethpage will not waive or reverse these charges again in the

    Hello,


    I am following up on my complaint with Bethpage FCU, I explained to them that my job neglected to pay the sick leave that I filed with them and that I should not be punished for my job's negligence.

    I was told by Bethpage FCU that I would be accommodated for this issue, since there were a lot of unpaid days.

    Why was I only given six days to reply? That gave me from late July to early August to respond. Many people in North America are either on vacation or swamped with work. Not to mention the fact that it took Bethpage FCU an extremely long time to reply to my complaint.

    They keep charging insufficient fund fees for things that are pending not actually processed . I always transfer money immediately and they refuse to remove fees

    My family and I took a trip to ***** in January for my dad's and mom's birthday. On the 14th of January we took a train ride from ******** to **** which my mom had paid for in advance the attached is proof of purchase. My family and I took a train an hour earlier than the time listed due to it stating we can do so. However while on the train the attendant was extremely rude and told ** in order for ** to get off the train we must pay again twice as much as original otherwise the police would be called and we would be arrested. She threatened my family said rude things to my mom and we had end up paying to avoid any conflict with the police. There were two felas on the train who had the same mistake and she let them go because they were ******* and we were ******** when I tried to explain this to my bank they are staying they cannot give me my money back because I paid for services that I had used. At the end of the day this woman was rude nasty racist and threatened ** I deserve my money back especially since the services I had paid for were not up to par. I am very unhappy with my bank as they also were rude and no one wanted to help me with this issue they just told me you out of luck your not getting your money back.

    As described in your complaint, you submitted a dispute in January for a transaction that posted to your Bethpage account. ********************** ultimately denied the claim and reversed the provisional credit of $288.60. During our investigation, documentation was provided by the merchant indicating the charges were authorized.
    In response to your complaint, our records indicate that on January 18, 2023, you requested to dispute a transaction that posted to your account on January 16, 2023. Pursuant to our investigation, after reviewing documentation provided by both the merchant and yourself, it was determined that the transactions were initiated by you and the provisional credit was reversed on April 18, 2023. Therefore, although your dispute has undergone additional review, it remains denied as the transactions were authorized.

     The only reason why the transaction was authorized is because my family and I were threatened to pay otherwise we would have been arrested we had paid for these train tickets a month in advance. As a human decency I deserve my money back and will not stop fighting until I receive it back. I need my money back this transaction should of never went thru in the first place it is a double transaction and you as a financial company should be giving me my money back for all the stress and anxiety this has brought me. It's unprofessional that everytime I would try to reach out via phone call or email no one would respond until the day the dispute was denied and everyone kept giving me the run around saying I was right I deserve my money back than all of a sudden the dispute was created with the wrong department and so on and so forth. If you deny giving me my rightful full amount back for this transaction I want money back for the way I've been treated thru the process. I will not stop fighting this transaction until I get something back

    Everyday I check my account since I encounter fraud from Bethpage before. I'm a very old member of the credit union hence i stay with the *** On May 1st 2023 i open my account only to discover another fraud from my account from EXTERNAL PAYMENT - VENMO PAYMENT. I called the bank spoke with ********, she said that the vendor use my account# and routing #. The bank took my zelle account I never sign up from VENMO ACCOUNT, ******* ******** said that the account holder gives out the account details, bare in mind this is a new account, I don't have a checks. Bethpage needs to take responsible of my account, they system is be comprise they needs to be responsible. People works very hard for the money.

    The absolute worst bank you could ever do business with. Made a loan payment from an external bank account on March 13 that still hasnt posted. On the bethpage app it says the payment is succeeded yet it wont post to my account. **************** is a joke, whoever I spoke to when I called hung up on me. Went into the ************** where they were even less helpful, tried denying that I even made a payment to begin with. Their only explanation was if it doesnt post by Monday theres a problem well its monday now. Also checked in with the external bank I tried making the payment with, they (***) said that this is a very common complaint they receive with bethpage, loan payments made with a **** of America account refuse to post. I couldnt care less about bethpages low fees or high interest rates when their customer service is lacking THIS much.

    I am writing in response to your written complaint to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) dated April 17, 2023, regarding a payment to your Unsecured Fixed loan at Bethpage Federal Credit Union (Bethpage).

    It is my understanding that on April 12, 2023, you initiated a payment for $400.48 from your account at **** of America to your loan at Bethpage ending in x****,however, the payment was not credited to your Bethpage account within the anticipated timeframe.

    Upon researching your complaint, we identified a process exception which delayed the crediting of the funds to your Bethpage account. Our records indicate that the payment posted to the account on April 17, 2023. Subsequently, the payment was reversed and reapplied to the loan with an effective date of April 12, 2023.

    We apologize for any inconvenience this caused and appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. Bethpage is committed to its members and we continually look for opportunities to improve our processes to prevent similar issues from occurring again in the future.

    I took out a credit line with the bank 2 years ago. I recently requested a payoff statement. The payoff statement includes fee's that are un related to my loan. When i questioned the bank. They replied since you closed you credit line early we are requiring you to pay the closing costs that we paid on your behalf. That makes absolutely no sense. I want them to remove those fees immediately.

    I am writing to you in response to your written complaint to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) dated March 30, 2023, regarding your Home Equity Line of Credit with Bethpage Federal Credit Union (Bethpage).
    Our records indicate that your Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) was funded on May 11, 2021, with payments beginning on June 28, 2021, and on the 28th of every month thereafter. The Home Equity Line of Credit Closing Cost Addendum for Loan Amounts Up to $500,000.00 (the Addendum), executed by you on May 6, 2021, states that if you terminate the account within 36 months after closing, you are responsible to satisfy all closing costs in the mount of $11,413.73. As 36 months have not elapsed since you closed on the loan, that amount will be included in your payoff quote.

    I opened an Equity line with Bethpage 18 months ago. ACCOUNT NO. **********. At the time my rate for the first 12 months was ****%, then after that it was to be ****% fixed for the life of the loan. I was told that over the phone, I signed documents that were blank, as to the interest rate. I was duped into signing documents that were later completed by employees of Bethpage. My rate has now accelerated to 9.5%, my payment jumping from $211.00 to $668.00. Bethpage has intentionally defrauded me. I have contacted them several times without any help or satisfaction. I cannot pay this huge increase. If I cannot get a resolution to this within 20 days I will be forced to seek legal assistance.

    As indicated in our response to your previous complaint to the ***** our records indicate that your Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) was funded on July 20, 2021 with payments beginning on August 28, 2021 and on the 28th of every month thereafter. The Home Equity Line of Credit Agreement and Disclosure Statement (Disclosure), executed by you, on July 15,2021 references the introductory interest rate of ****% which remained fixed for 12 months and in effect until September 1, 2022. After that date, the rate converted to a variable rate which is comprised of the Index, defined in the Disclosure as the highest base rate on corporate loans at large U.S. money center commercial banks that *********************** publishes as the prime rate plus a Margin of ****%. The Index has increased since your loan funded,thus your variable rate has also increased.

    I pay my bill before the due date always however lately they've been charging me a late fee because they chose to take the date of the bill's arrival to their facility as my payment date instead of the post **** on the envelope of the payment sent as my payment date! I do not control when the mail decides to be delivered to their facility but I DO control when I pay it and I always pay on time! I believe it is just a way to obtain an illegal fee! Then they try to sell me the you can pay on time if you set up automatic bill pay! I don't pay that way and never have! I would like you to intercede on my behalf and stop allowing them to get away with what I consider to be an illegal practice. I want this struck from my credit report and I want a refund for EVERY month they charged me a late fee

    In your complaint you alleged that Bethpage has charged you late fees, however, we do not have record of any accounts under the name provided. If you are reaching out on behalf of a third party, we cannot discuss specific account details with you. However, please be advised that loan payments are posted the date they are received, not the date they are postmarked. Payments received after their respective due date and outside the grace period outlined in the initial terms of the loan are subject to a late fee.
