I have not used this company in over a year. Their billing department is a mess and will mess up your credit because they are STILL billing me and i closed out my account and my therapist is no longer with the company. So why are they billing me!!??? They shouldnt be!

Had some initial hiccups with using app and getting into meetings however, I learned quickly and everyone helped me out. Initially there were insurance issues with getting medication but I discovered later that it was my pharmacy. I see a lot of complaints here. And I'm thinking many people are quick to point the finger at Valera.1) If you need to speak with someone - call the new patient line.2) NEVER give any health care provider a credit card # to keep on file. Always ask to be billed, so any issues can be solved straight away. Or purchase a prepaid card specifically for this reason and reload it after every co-pays or out of pocket visit. If you have a card on file of course they will assume that you wish to be charged for outstanding invoices instead of returning to the insurance to qualify.Hope this helps someone...

Worst company ever! I had a wonderful provider who prescribed my medications for me but went out on maternity leave. I saw someone on 11/1/23. They insisted they would contact me within 2 or 3 weeks. By early December I called them and said wheres my provider? Theyve just been renewing my scripts. They said theyd look into it. I said I didnt want the same one because obviously they were not on their game. I called again in mid-December and they claimed that the providers people called me on December 2 or 3 to schedule an appointment. I checked my records and thats a lie! I again told them I didnt want this person as my prescriber. So by early January I got an email stating that a request of a transfer. Meanwhile my therapist had told me that it was invalidating my feelings and blaming me for things that were out of my control (victim blaming/shaming). She had no empathy whatsoever. And to top it off, their billing department took $45 from my account no reason whatsoever and only paid back $15!! Im still waiting for the $30.

Thank you for your post. We are sorry that your experience has felt dissatisfying. Valera takes the confidentiality of patient care seriously and cannot comment online about the details of any individual's care. We strive to offer rapid access to treatment providers, including at times when changes of provider are requested. Additionally, whenever there is some kind of confusing communication with a psychotherapist or psychiatric provider, we encourage patients to reach out directly to the provider to discuss. These discussions typically resolve any misunderstanding and often lead to an even stronger working alliance. We look forward to continuing to serve you.

With regards to the billing concern, since this was posted, we have followed up and believe we have resolved this complaint and clarified our consent and credit card authorization processes.

Valera Health services are covered by insurance plans, for whom we are in-network providers. As a result, the invoiced amount is determined by the member health plan, and not by the Valera team.  We submit claims on a members behalf to their insurance provider, and they are charged for their portion of the cost share using the card on file once those claims have been processed by the insurance provider, which can be several weeks after the services were provided. Based on a member's specific insurance coverage, they may be responsible for a copay, deductible, or coinsurance when utilizing our ***************************. To ensure continuity of care, patients may be asked to give consent to automatically charge their cards on file.

We encourage any patients with a question about their bill or charges to reach out to ********************************** directly, where we are available Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Though we experience a high volume of questions and sometimes issues raised require further investigation, we aim to respond to all of these requests within 72 hours. If you need to make any additional payments, please feel free to visit our secure portal at valerahealth.com, under the Resources tab, click on Pay My Bill.

This service is absolute trash. Every single time I called, "all of their agents were busy," but they give you the option to leave your number and they'll "call you back in the order you were in the queue." Which they never do until at least the next day anyway. And if you miss that call, you have to start the process over again. I also tried to email them for a more solid line of communication, and never got a response at all. Now, after the last time I left my number, I've gotten an email and text from them saying I no longer have access to Valera. Which I NEVER HAD ACCESS IN THE FIRST PLACE. I never talked to a single person, absolute trash. Its hard enough to reach out about your mental health, without struggling just trying to get some help from these people.

I have received care at Valera for almost a year and it's by far the best telehealth agency I have received care from. My psychiatrist is very attentive, kind, and professional and I'm thankful I can still receive care from the comfort of my own home.

I was in the hospital in the spring of 2022. As many have mentioned, when you leave the hospital you must have follow up appointment with a provider. The hospital contacted Valera with my insurance and asked if they were covered. They said yes and an appointment was booked. I called my insurance sepertly and also confirmed that they were covered. At my first appointment, my assigned doctor disagreed with my well established diagnosis that I have had and have been relieving treatment for for years. He refused to refill the medication I was stable leaving the hospital on, and I had to detox cold turkey. This doctor never showed up to my appointments after that. Can't get him to respond in thier app. Phone calls. Email. Nothing. I received a large bill for two appointments that occurred last year. I have ***'s stating that they were paid in full by my insurance. I could not get in contact with anyone at Valera. The email they have listed is a no reply email and they do not answer the phone. I eventually got in touch with the billing department, which is outsourced to *****. This call center must handle work for many companies, because the person didn't understand who I was calling about even with the account ID on the bill. Every month, I receive a new bill. I call billing. They say they will ***** with my insurance. Rinse and repeat for over a year. The late fee on the payment was greater then the payment itself. Now 11 months later, I paid everything off just to get them to leave me alone. I have gotten into another doctor who restarted my treatment, but it took a whole year to do so. In the meantime I have been suffering. How much more due diligence should the patient have to do? Glad you got your blood money from some of the most vulnerable people in society. This is a scam and they did serious harm to me. I will never do business again with these people and I will be letting everyone who will listen know about my experience.

Valera Health is dangerously bad. They neglected to schedule my most recent appointment. I had to call about nine times, begging them to renew my psych meds so I wouldn't go through dangerous withdrawal. I also emailed twice. My provider disappeared. Valera disappeared. The idea of them working with people with mental health issues of any kind is incredibly scary. I don't like even giving them one star.

I used Valera Health for my daughter. My daughter did not like her therapist and I told them that I am not interested in services. I keep getting a bill for no shows since 2021. I called and complained three times. I have paid $75 for no shows. They conveniently don't have billing phone number and all customer service representatives don't speak English well and supposedly their company is from Brooklyn.

Terrible experience with Valera health. It took about 2 weeks before my intake interview then I had a bill that didnt show what my insurance was covering they asked me to send my insurance information again then after 9 days tell me they dont accept my insurance. I had already had 4 sessions. After many emails to them, they tell me they got in touch with my insurance and it would take ** to a month to straighten this out. Mind you, this process from beginning until after my insurance issues was almost 2 months. I told Valera health that I went backwards due to the stress theyve put me through and patients seeking help with depression or any mental health issue should not have to go through this. I ended my sessions and told them DO NOT GET IN TOUCH WITH ME UNTIL THIS ISSUE IS RESOLVED terrible service.
