1 starMy mother and I were contacted by PTM Solar, a third party sales force for ***** Energy, Inc. They got us to sign up for their community solar savings. They stated they were subsidized through the government and we would receive a 10% credit back on the electric portion of our energy bill.
The sales force was extremely pushy and fast talking. They demanded to see our energy bill, took photos, and basically bullied my 81 year old mother into signing up for something she didn’t fully understand.
I did some research and contacted local law enforcement. While they are legitimate, their tactics are not. Later, the company they sell for called to confirm information already provided. When questioned the 10% credit suddenly became 5%. I kept having to argue and threaten to expose the energy company here, on BBB, before they conceded to the 10%. Then, when asked if our energy bill could possibly go up by signing up with them, they became very evasive.
The only upside was, the energy company did not argue or give me a hard time when I told them we would be dis-enrolling and canceling their offer. Of course, it was accompanied by my promise of poor reviews on BBB, social media, and possible legal action if they failed to comply.
Overall, avoid this PTM Solar and those like it, due to their deceptive practices, high pressure sales, and scam like actions. If they come to your door, demand to see a permit from your municipal government. I assure you, they wont have one.Review fromAmanda S
