1 starMy experience with Coast Professional, Inc.—specifically with a representative named Jessica—was nothing short of outrageous. Jessica somehow obtained my contact information from a business filing with the Secretary of State and proceeded to call me regarding a debt that has absolutely nothing to do with me. She was attempting to track down a business owner for an alleged personal liability, and yet saw no issue with harassing an uninvolved third party.
Not only was this conduct wildly unprofessional, but it also raises serious legal concerns. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and guidelines from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), debt collectors are prohibited from making threats to garnish wages without a valid court judgment, and from harassing third parties in the process of attempting to collect a debt. Jessica ignored both of these protections.
To make matters worse, Jessica was rude, condescending, and aggressive during our conversation. She made threatening remarks and treated me with blatant disrespect despite the fact that I have zero connection to the alleged debt. I don’t even know if the debt is real or if this was some kind of intimidation tactic.
Coast Professional, Inc. should be ashamed of the way it allows its representatives to operate. If this is how they conduct their business—through harassment, intimidation, and illegal behavior—then I strongly advise anyone and everyone to steer clear and report them to the proper authorities.Review fromJeff S

Got a letter saying they are attempting to collect a debt on behalf of the US government. Probably real but sounds like fraud / scam. If they are going to ask for money, maybe they should reference what the collection is for, what agency. Something. Anything. And they are closed weekends. So I guess I’m not paying it.

1 starThis company is rude and yells and is threatining. They dont even have the correct info on the family. We are not behind in any school or va payments. We are reporting them to the va tomorrow morning. Just horrible. They claim to be calling for the treasuary dept. Thats not even legal to say. Ive contacted my private lender and the gov school lendor. No payments have been missed. This crap should be illegal.Review fromAlexis D

1 starCalled in to ask for payment to be cancelled. Money was taken out on 12/12 after I called to have it cancelled on 12/8. Even though I called and spoke with CSR, they got NYS on the line and said they couldn't give me my money back. I am currently unemployed, waiting for benefits to kick in during the holidays no less. I cannot get my account charged back as per NYS. Easy to take my money out but not able to credit it back to me. Was confirmed that payment would be cancelled. This is not how debt collection agencies are supposed to work. Where is the chargeback? Where is the right for the consumer
