We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the concerns submitted by ****** *******.This patient was provided with dental treatment at our office, including the placement of a crown. Prior to treatment, she disclosed the age of her previous crown stating it was approximately over 5 years old. Her carrier was advised and subsequently denied payment due to a 10-year replacement clause within her particular contract. The majority of carriers consider replacement at 5 years. However, despite the denial of coverage, she still benefited from the insurance contracted rate, which provided a discount on the overall fee. Since it is nearly impossible for our practice to know all limitations, waiting periods, and restrictions of hundreds of carriers, we always encourage patients to understand their coverage prior to consenting to their treatment. Preauthorizations are not required but can always be requested by the patient prior to the start of any treatment as well. Although our office typically does not offer internal payment plans, we made an exception and arranged a monthly automatic payment schedule to assist her. Unfortunately, she defaulted on this agreed-upon plan. We also offer third-party financing options through CareCredit and ******, which she did not utilize.Because of the defaulted payment plan, the account was transferred to an accelerated billing servicenot a collection agency. The intention of accelerated billing is to assist in resolving outstanding balances in a respectful and professional manner before further collection action is considered. We understand that healthcare and financial matters can be sensitive, and we strive to communicate transparently and compassionately. We are still open to working directly with the patient to discuss a resolution and welcome her to contact our billing office at her convenience.Sincerely,Kingston Dental Associates ************

Would not recommend these people. The dentist said they took my insurance but after I started with them would not cover a crown. They said they didnt do that kind of crown. Only after I started with them did they tell me this. I paid **** for the crown, it came off after several months and when I called them, they said they would not fix it because I didnt come back and get the other four crowns done. I told them I couldnt come back because I couldnt afford to get four more done at that price. They said its too bad because unless youre not finishing the work here, he will not stand behind his work. It is a very poor professional policy. I had the other four crowns put on at my insurance rate of $489 each. This new dentist agreed that they should have stood behind their work, and agreed to fix it for **** would give zero stars if it were an option.

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the concerns submitted. The patient is enrolled in a reduced fee schedule program, not traditional dental insurance. Our office is a participating provider in this program and honors its terms. The reduced fee schedule offers patients a lower-cost alternative to a standard crowna type our office does not fabricate due to our commitment to providing high-quality, all-porcelain restorations.Per the program guidelines, when a listed procedure is not available at our office, we apply a 20% discount to our standard fee and disclose that the lab fee is an additional cost. This is the exact pricing the patient received.Additionally, our office stands behind the dental work we provide. We honor a one-year no-charge policy for any necessary adjustments, remakes, or replacements, provided that patients return for regular six-month preventive care visits. This agreement is essential to ensure we can monitor and maintain oral health and the success of *************** no point do we refuse to evaluate or address a patient concern. However, we cannot provide no-charge services when a patient does not return for follow-up care and the one-year timeframe has passed. In this case, the crown in question had been placed over a year prior, and the patient had not returned for any recare visits. We are committed to quality and professionalism and regret any misunderstanding. We welcome all patients to contact us directly to discuss their treatment and options.Sincerely,Kingston Dental Associates
