I purchased a camper from blue compass rv it was delivered damaged so I refused to accept it the sales man said they would replace it with the same make and model and they did but their are options you can choose from and other camper I received to replace the first camper did not have the up grades that the first camper had for example were the tv mounts in the kitchen area they were 2 cabinets one on each side of the TV mount and different windows treatment and different cabinets in the bedroom room and I did not receive the upgrade mattress
On the other camper the tv mounted on the bed room was not their so I asked blue compass to provide what was missing or refinance the loan less $3,500 from the $30,000 that was financed because the camper I received did not have the upgrades the first one had and they said no they would not do that so I called **** **** were I financed the camper and explained to them that the camper I received was $3,500 less because of the options I did not receive with the replacement camper and they would not help me they told me to make the payments or have it repossessed I asked them how they can make me pay for something I did not receive with this model because blue compass did not tell the bank it was a less expensive model the told the bank it was the exact same which it is not so please help me if you can Thank you ***** ***** ************

We apologize for any confusion, however the manufacturer can change options/features throughout the model year...the invoice on these two units were almost the same exact cost, so we cannot adjust $3,500. We are happy to install TV/Bracket at no charge.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  I'm express my dissatisfaction with the service I have received regarding my bill of sale financing request with Blue Compass. Despite multiple attempts to communicate through email, I have yet to receive any response or update on my inquiry of being overcharged on the purchase of my camper. Additionally, I would like to address concerns regarding the financial charges associated with my camper purchase, which I believe may constitute a breach of contract. I have previously shared my objections with Blue Compass sale team to these charges and would appreciate help  particularly in the sale and purchase to discussions the contact lead-up to my pickup on May 24, 2024. Additionally, on December 28, 2024 I stopped at the business to confirm appointment time and day because No response to request 11/17/24 Which concerns my warranty.  I'm sending a copy of a history of service request to bring in for service, Due to the previous service date, not being scheduled and confirmed and with no communication Had to go into the office and finally schedule a time and date.  Thank you for your understanding. Regards, **** ****

The prep fee on the contract has been explained numerous times, there was no overcharge. We are not able to make changes on this contract. The service advisor emailed on 12/21 offering several available appointment dates. The appointment has been set and we will be submitting everything to the manufacturer for approval on their end. Thank you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  On May 19, 2024, I signed a sales agreement with Blue Compass for the purchase of a 2024 ****** ***** ****** **** ******. Here are the details of the sale: - **Sale Price:** $33,805.00   - **New York Sales Tax:** $2,772.00   - **Prep and Demo Fee:** $695.00   - **Document Fee:** $175.00   - **Total Price:** $36,947.00   I made two down payments totaling $4,000.00, leaving a final amount to be financed of **$33,447.00**. I believe Blue Compass has overcharged me for the camper. They have not made any changes to the contract or refunded my money. Specifically, their markup on financing led to a higher payment than I expected. The final finance price ended up being **$37,012.20**, which included additional state taxes and service fees that were charged twice, even though the services were not completed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
Request reimbursement for two key issues related to my purchase of the 2024 ****** ***** ****** *****. 1.** Reimbursement of Prep Service Fee**: I request a refund of the prep service fee of $695.00, along with applicable  taxes of $62.48, totaling $757.48. This is because the agreed-upon services were not rendered.  2. **Issues with Service Scheduling and Coverage**: Since May 24, 2024, I have made multiple attempts to secure the correct equipment for my camper and to arrange for necessary repairs. I have communicated with your staff since October but have not received a confirmed appointment until my visit on December 27, when I had to confirm in person due to a lack of response from your team. Additionally, as of January 7, 2025, I now face challenges proving prior damage to my camper for repairs to be covered under warranty, specifically regarding the water tank plug. Under the purchase agreement, the original sale price included a service charge, which I believe warrants my request for reimbursement due to this breach of contract. Please send the refund directly to M&T Bank. Thank you for your attention to these matters. I look forward to your prompt response. In New York, as in many other states, the financing policies for automobiles and recreational vehicles (RVs) can vary based on the lender and the loan structure, but there are some general principles regarding deposits and loans. 1. **Deposit Impact on Loan Amount**: When you put down a deposit (also known as a down payment) on a vehicle, it reduces the total amount you need to finance. For example, if the vehicle costs $30,000 and you make a $5,000 deposit, you would need to finance $25,000. A larger down payment generally results in a lower loan amount, which can lead to lower monthly payments. 2. **Interest Rates**: A sizable down payment can also potentially improve your chances of securing a better interest rate. Lenders often view a larger down payment as a sign of a lower risk borrower, which might lead to more favorable loan terms. 3. **Loan-to-Value Ratio (LTV)**: The down payment affects the loan-to-value ratio, which is the ratio of the loan amount to the value of the vehicle. A lower LTV ratio is favorable and may help you avoid private mortgage insurance (PMI) in certain cases (though PMI is more commonly associated with home loans). 4. **Credit Approval**: While the deposit itself doesn't directly change your credit, a larger down payment can sometimes strengthen your application by demonstrating financial responsibility. This can aid in securing a loan approval, especially if your credit score isn't very high. 5. **Contract Terms**: Always review the sale contract and loan agreement carefully. The deposit might be non-refundable, or there might be specific conditions tied to it that could affect your final financing terms.  6. **Sales Tax and Fees**: In New York, sales tax is charged on the total price of the vehicle before the deposit is considered, although the deposit will reduce the amount financed. Be sure to account for sales tax, registration fees, and other costs when preparing your budget for a vehicle purchase. It's always recommended to consult with your lender for specific details regarding their policies and to read through any financing agreements carefully to fully understand the implications of your down payment.

We have gone over the contracts with the customer and remain sure there was no over charge. There were extended warranty packages purchased that also had to be figured into the loan. In NYS you still pay sales tax on the total amount before deposit/COD put down, that money is not exempt from being taxed.  We have submitted the warranty repairs and will work with the manufacturer and the customer to complete what is approved.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  Request for Reimbursement and Resolution Dear Blue Compass Team, I am writing to formally address the ongoing issues I have experienced regarding the parts for my camper, which I should have received upon pickup on May 24, 2024. Despite my numerous attempts over the past nine months—through emails, calls, and personal visits—I have not received a functional screen door, nor have I seen progress on this matter.  It is my understanding that the demo and prep fee should cover the installation of necessary parts, which was not completed as promised. Given that the work order was signed off as complete by a Blue Compass employee, I am requesting resolution for reimbursement for the demo and prep fee of $695 plus including 8% tax,  and  Additionally, I am seeking $695 for the time and effort I invested in cleaning and preparing the camper. As well as not being able to use my camper door as intended.
      Regards,

********* ******* ** * ****** ***** Safety Recall 23V-627 I called them on 4/25/24 and they said they would set up an appointment. After many phone calls back to them I finally had a date for the recall.

Recall 8/20/2024 -8/21/2024 completed at Blue Compass RV

Awning extended on its own 8/23/2024 2 days after the “Recall was completed”

Returned to Blue Compass RV 8/27/2024 picked up 8/28/2024
Said it was the awning motor but when I picked it up they said it was the **** ****** and would order it right away.(8/28/2024)
After many calls to Blue Compass RV I was notified on 10/15/2024 that ********* sent the wrong part and they would have it expedited. Today is 11/24/2024 and I have not received any communication from Blue Compass RV about the **** ****** replacement.

I talked with ********* about it and my case number is ********. I also shared this information with Blue Compass RV.

The pictures attached are after the recall was complete and I had to zip tie it to stay in. The awning did not go back in all the way.

      Business Response

      Date: 11/27/2024

We are sorry for the delay, we are waiting on the part and according the manufacturer it should arrive this Friday, as long as no other delays occur. We will let the customer know as soon as it is in our possession. Thank you!

      Customer Answer

      Date: 11/27/2024

Yes, the company called me this morning to tell me the part would most likely be there Friday 11/29/2024. Just because they said the part will be in does not mean it actually will, since they have told me that they got the **** ****** (10/15/2024) and it was the wrong one and the correct one would be shipped quickly. I have been waiting for them to fix it since August 28, 2024 and it has not been fixed by Blue Compass. This is all related to the awning recall NHTSA Safety Recall 23V-627. My awning worked perfectly fine without any issues of itself deploying until Blue Compass did the recall on 8/23/2024. It started to self-deploy after Blue Compass completed the awning recall (two days) that was supposed to prevent it from happening. That is the reason I brought it back to Blue Compass to have it fixed properly. It was only two days after the awning recall was complete that it started to self-deploy. I talked to ********* and they said at this point in time I would probably not find another dealer to repair the awning since another company started the work on it and did not fix it. I was told on 8/28/2024 the **** ****** broke when they kept trying to get the motor working and it would need to be replaced, they said they would contact ********* for the part right away. In the meanwhile I have talked to different personnel at Blue Compass and they told me the person that was suppose to order it was no longer working there and they would take care of it right away. On October 10, 2024 I called Blue Compass and Anita (no longer there) told me they were getting it. My issue is that everything worked fine until they did the recall and have not been able to fix my awning so it actually works.. Currently the awning is zip tied to prevent self-deployment.  I also talked to *** ********* * **** ********** ***** ************* ********* *********** **** *********** ****** *** ********** *************** ******** about this safety issue. I have copies of phone records if you need them.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/02/2024

Unfortunately, the manufacturer did send the incorrect part. They has told us the new one is mailed. We cannot control the timing of them getting us that part. They know we requested it ASAP. Anita is still a service advisor and will let them know when it arrives so we can get the awning corrected for them.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 12/04/2024

Pictures 5-8 show how I got the RV back after they tried to fix it on 8/28/2024 and said it needed the **** ******. I have not been able to use the awning since I picked up the camper on 8/28/2024 which is when I was told they would order the part rightway. They had to put zip ties on it since it was not safe to drive because it could self deploy. The awning in the pictures show that the awning is not fully closed. Both ends of the awning are sticking out.The awning should be completely tight against the camper. The first four pictures are from August when the awning started to self deploy. The pictures 5-8 were taken on November 27, 2024 to show the difference from the previous pictures I sent. Pictures 1-4 shows what the RV looked like on 8/23/2024 after I picked it up from Blue Compass and drove it. I did not use the awning at all after they did the recall.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/04/2024

As we have stated, we will make the repair when the coach comes in. They have made an appt and have the part that arrived at the dealership ready to install. We cannot do anything further until that appt, but will make sure we get everything working correctly for you. Thank you.

We had bought a pop-up camper from them and needed a canvas replaced due to manufacturing defect 2 years ago. We got a canvas put on April 2023 and the replacement had 3 large dark spots and was unacceptable. They said they would order another and get back to us as soon as it comes in. We have been trying to reach them every month since then. We reached out to the manufacturer and BBB and they finally responded via email and told us October 3 it would be in. They have not returned any calls, emails, etc. and when my husband *** spoke with the manufacturer ******* *****) they said, "no canvas warranty replacement submitted" Even though they said it would be in October 3. We don't know what to do anymore. We cannot get a hold of anyone, they outright lie every time when we do, and they have not followed through on replacing the defective canvas on our camper. This should not be allowed to happen! We have no recourse. At this point, even if they contacted us, we would not trust them what they would say or their work ethic. PLEASE HELP US!

I purchased a RV trailer back on 7/4/24 and I am still waiting for my registration and plate. I purchased insurance on it on 7/12/24 and as of 8/19-24 the insurance company said it would be cancelled. I had planned 3 trips that were prepaid and have not been able to go since I can’t even legally move it from my yard. I even asked the company to send my sales tax and registration money back to me so that I could get it myself.

We bought our camper and we're told they would handle the title\plate and take care of everything for us. It has been six weeks and still no plate, we cannot use our camper. We signed the power of attorney so they would take care of this. The sale date was June 22nd they also asked if anything was wrong, we said yes the bed is broken and the gentleman that did the quality check said they could get us the part and have it shipped if we could replace the part. We agreed to that.we need our plate and title or want to return the camper.

We purchased a used RV from **** ******* RV Albany that was on consignment. At the time we also purchased an extended Warranty that was offered to us by **** *******. We discovered shortly after the purchase there was an issue with the heating system in the unit. (**** **** I took the RV back to Dealer and they replaced a regulator. Shortly afterwards we realized there was still an issue with the system so I dropped the RV off at the **** ******* in Dececember 2023 with the understanding we needed the unit by February. I called in February to discover they had just started work on the RV and were in the process of replacing the **** *** system. The new **** *** was manufactured in Jan 2024 and delivered sometime after that to the dealer. I picked up the RV towards the end of February or the beginning of March. We tested the unit before leaving the dealer and the system appeared to work correctly. Within two hours of running the heat, it started making a very loud roaring noise when it started and would stop within a minute or so.I notified the dealer and brought the unit back to be looked at. The technician who installed the unit said he thought it was the exhaust system on the heater which was also replaced. The service advisor Robin F********** who I have been working with since the purchase said they would order a replacement Exhaust system. After numerous calls and months going by I was informed they were having an issue getting the replacement parts.I was constantly promised return calls that never occurred. I finally talked to Jennifer who is supposed to be in charge of the repair department in early June and she said the parts were in. We made the trip back up and it turned out only the tip was there. I was informed Robin was going to find out what happened. Four weeks later she still has no idea and is blaming others for the delay. I informed her today if she cant get the parts I want a new unit installed since I can not run this one.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

So far all i am getting is excuses. The unit has been to the facility 3 times for this issue since the new ******* was installed.  Last time was in June when I was assured the parts were there. When I got there they were not. I am always told they are working on it but every time I talk to them nothing has been done. This problem has been going on since March. I called them yesterday and was informed they needed the unit and was informed of two options. Bring it there or going to another dealer. I was told I would get a return call by end of day, still nothing. They have also finally agreed they do not feel it is the exhaust, something I have been saying since May. They have been informed I am on a time issue as to how long we can go without the RV. It is our home 3 to 4 days a week since we use it to attend competitive trials with our dogs. Also I do not expect to have to make any payments for this since the unit has been defective since the install and this is a new *******. As I have stated before, I have received no paperwork on the new unit to include the warranty. Also each trip to the dealer costs me approximately $150-200 in fuel plus tolls.I feel I have been more than patient with this but it is getting ridiculous now. We have wasted over 5 months trying to resolve this issue and now they want the unit again to re-diagnose it. I will also mention I have done some diagnosing as well and suspect it is a fan or internal burner issue. The fan can be purchased at several online dealers at a cost of approximately $50.00.I informed the service department yesterday of this and they agree with me they do not feel its the exhaust. As stated we have been extremely patient even though I feel we are being ignored and definitely not getting any support in resolving this matter. i am trying to avoid legal actions due to the poor customer service we have been getting but may have no choice. We paid for a service that has not been provided satisfactory.
      Regards,

My camper had a scheduled service date of August 24th which was also rescheduled from the week before. By Albany RV. I called them because I own a 21 ******** ***** where the sink does not drain. ******** has a recall type repair that needs to be done on my camper. They informed me to schedule this repair at an ******** dealer, so I called Albany RV. I made a phone call for an update on the second day in as I was informed this repair would take one day to complete. When I called Lilly informed me that my camper would be ready that afternoon. I then asked is your tech doing the repair that ******** wanted done? She said yes and would call me when it was ready. So when we talked later and said it was all fixed and I could pick it up I said I wanted to come and test out the sink so I could make sure it was fixed before I brought it home. Then she started to tell me that they actually didn’t fix it because they couldn’t get the sink to do what I had been complaining about. So she lied told me they were fixing it when they actually didn’t. It didn’t matter wether or not they can get it to do what I was complaining about even though my ******** representative told them they had to do this repair to my camper in order to get it working properly. I can’t find the manger of the store, so that is why I am filling out this form. They told me this repair would take a day so I let them take the camper. I need it repaired for this coming Friday September 1st.
