I applied to an 55+ apartment in Connecticut back in December. I was accepted and sent in an $800 (supposedly) refundable check to hold my brand new apartment that was supposed to open in February. The application fee is $100. The opening time was then pushed to March without a reason. I called and was reassured that it would open then. I bought new furniture to move in. There was supposed to be 3 tenant meetings. Since I was in the hospital, I wasn’t able to attend. I found out shortly thereafter that they canceled the meetings without calling anyone. The opening was then bumped to April, then May and now August. It’s July and I’m still not in an apartment and my landlord is trying to push me out. The most important thing to me is transparency. If there’s a problem, let me know so I can be clear with my landlord and the furniture stores that are still holding my furniture. The apartments appear to be built from the outside and they finally allowed us to see 2 apartments. In the interim they’ve increased rent twice. I would not do business with them in the future.

This senior apartment complex was built in 2020. We are currently dealing with mold issues in the outside furnace closets of many apartments. In addition, there are many furnaces that cannot operate in the winter without having space heaters blowing on them 24 hours a day. As a result, our electricity bills triple during the winter because of the space heaters. The hallways of the complex are filthy. The trash rooms are never cleaned and have spilt liquids all over the floors. They had the nerve to raise our rent this year, but we are not receiving any repairs or services for the increase in rent. We had burst pipes last winter because the pipes are not insulated. As a result, water leaked into the building and did water damage to ceilings and floors. This is not a good place to live.
