I sent a textbook to sell blue rocket books and before I sent it I was quoted for an amount and given the directions of how to send it. After sending my package I got an *** tracking notification saying it had delivered. I never received any confirmation from blue rocket book or update on the progress. After looking at the help section on their website, it said payment is received 3-10 days after delivery. It is now past the 10 days after the delivery and I still haven’t received any payment of update on the progress. I emailed the given email address for help but I got a notification saying that the email didn’t exist. So I have no way of contacting.

I sold Blue Rocket Books two textbooks and was quoted approximately $26. A few days after they received the books, they responded, stating that the books were excessively marked so they couldn’t not accept them. They offered to return them, if I paid the $6 shipping. However, I sent twelve similarly marked books to a competitor of theirs who accepted all without hesitation.

I would love an explanation on why these two books were rejected. It seems the decision was made capriciously. And since the order was for only $26, it seems they feel that (with these smaller orders) no one will actually pursue payment.

I emailed the company a few times, to a few different email addresses, and each time it bounced back.

Hi  Blue Rocket Books has been proudly in business since 2009.   We have some customers that have been with us for the entire time we have been open.  We have had over 188,000 successful transactions and have purchased over 1 million books from our customers.  Please do not send us books in the condition in the attached pictures.   We have to resell the books and if a book  has liquid stains, cover damage and border notes and highlighting throughout it is likely not resell able.  We also have been corresponding with this customer.  We will list the email we received here:  Hi, ***, Thanks
for getting back to me so quickly. Your website says: "Books in 'good'
condition will typically [have] Writing/highlighting in less than 20% of the
book". I am confident that the books I sent satisfy this standard. Is
there some other metric used to determine 'excessive markings'? If so, could
you please let me know exactly how my books failed to meet this different
    standard? If
this can be explained sufficiently, then 50% of the quote would be acceptable.
However, since I have another order outstanding, #******, I would appreciate
some further information detailing the standard that seemingly differs from
what is stated on your website. Appreciate your help.   All
the best, *******  So we are not ignoring this customer.  We are also not going to be intimated or threatened into making a payment for books that are worthless.  Thank you Patrick Blue Rocket Books

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The pictures that the business included are all of the same book (and notably, the cheaper of the two); I sent them two books. Moreover, the initial email I received from the company, stated that both books were rejected due to "excessive markings." They made no mention of the overall condition of the books as the grounds for their rejection. So, I don't see how the first few photos are relevant, unless they are now changing their tune and asserting that the books were rejected for other, additional reasons. On their website, they say that a book in "good" condition will typically have "writing/highlighting in less than 20% of the book." Accordingly, including the last photograph - that shows highlighting & writing on a single page of an almost 1,900-page textbook - is flimsy at best to illustrate that 20% or more of the book had writing/highlighting.  Importantly, the company has been in contact with me. At first, I assumed that I would not hear from them because every email that I sent (to three different addresses) returned an automated message that stated: "Undeliverable: Delivery Status Notification (Failure). Address not found. Your message wasn't delivered to  *************************** because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail." Had I known that my initial messages actually went through, I likely would not have contacted the BBB until more time had elapsed before hearing from the company. So, should the company continue to maintain contact with me, then I would be okay with dealing with them directly. Thank you.

I recently received a reduced price on an item due to "water damage". Company has not provided any documentation to verify this event and due to the nature of shipping I find this highly unlikely to occur. I selected Blue Rocket Books on the evening of 12-11-22 to sell back a sealed medical book; *********** *** **** I.S.B.N. ************* for $34.10. Again item is Brand New and Sealed in shrink wrap! Item was then wrapped in bubble wrap, placed into an appropriate sized box with extra bubble wrap to fill space, packing slip laid on top, all edges sealed with packers tape, and dropped off at an indoor UPS facility on 12-12-22 with no rain. Item arrived at its final destination in less than 3 days on 12-15-22 and when following tracking information; USPS#*********************, I could clearly see item was never in areas with rain while being transported. 8 Hours after the item arrived at it's final destination I received an email from the company owner Patrick stating the item had "water damage" and offered to sell item at a reduced price of $10. I followed up with a couple emails asking to show water damage and if so I would gladly accept item back at the companies expense because it was a new sealed book and I followed all guidelines or.. they should pay full estimated price. I have not received a response. Again, I have followed all guidelines with Blue Rocket Book as listed on their website around proper packaging, packing slips, and expect their acknowledgement of estimate price as the site states "offers that are made are accurate 99% of the time". This book is selling online for an average of $58 dollars and feel this to be not an honest transaction, but rather a sneaky measure to profit from the item. There is no proof of the damage and other posts on here show a repeated pattern of this activity.

Thank you for your email.  We reached out to Mr ***** and issued the fully quoted amount.  Please reach out to Mr ***** to confirm this.   We mailed a check for $31.40 on 12-16.   Mail can take 5-6 business days to be received, especially during the holidays. Thank you. Patrick
